Real smart Vince. First you put the WWE title on Batista for a day when you know he's gonna be out with an injury. Now you put the world title on Jeff Hardy and he'll be gone after SummerSlam.

Were Rhodes and DiBiase supposed to win? Or was it just the Big Show's horrible work as usual?
Posted By: Guest#6118 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM
So what was Vince mad about?
Posted By: Guest#3394 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:03 AM
I bet DiBiase wasn't supposed to tap...
Posted By: Guest#4018 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:03 AM
What's wrong, Vince? Did Jerry Lawler not say the line you fed him?
Posted By: Mick Foley (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:06 AM
Honestly, I think Foley should've added someone that's actually funny to his comedy show.
Posted By: Smarky Smark (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:07 AM
Wow, that's another month. Good thing they put the belt back on him.
Posted By: Tim Haught (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:09 AM
quick question, When is vince not mad?
Posted By: Ryan (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:09 AM
Jeff to drop the title back to Punk at SS hopefully.
Guess noone told Vince Show was gonna be Jerichos partner.

"Jeff Hardy has reportedly agreed to stay through Summerslam"
Wait...so they put the belt on someone who may be leaving the company at any time?
Posted By: Guest#8334 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:11 AM
So good money's on Jeff dropping the belt before or during SS?
Posted By: Jeremy (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:11 AM
Even Vince was pissed that Show was the surprise.
Posted By: Guest#1597 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:16 AM
Vince was pissed off Jericho's partner was Big Show too!
I don't blame him for slamming his headset.

Jeff Hardy has reportedly agreed to stay through Summerslam

That's only because the next drug test he has to take is after summerslam

*Vince McMahon was visibly upset after the opener last night, and was seen throwing his headset down when the match was over.
I have been visibly upset every monday since March 2001, so I know how he feels.
Posted By: Darren Runne (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:21 AM
Yeah Vince, we were disappointed with Jericho's partner too.
Posted By: Foolio (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:27 AM
Why does anyone over the age of 14 like Jeff Hardy? He is a mid-card tag team guy at best, who has looked lost and ridiculous since they took him away from his brother-who is CLEARLY the more talented of the two. I guess selling merchandise is more important than actually being good.

"Vince McMahon was visibly upset after the opener last night, and was seen throwing his headset down when the match was over."
Well let's see. He had 3 guys who could easily go out and have an entertaining openning match...and then decided the 4th person involved should be the Big Show, who instantly increased the excitement by -76.
Posted By: Elliot (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:31 AM
So, we cut off CM Punk's masterful heel turn at the knees because Jeff Hardy is going to be around for another month. Absolutely fantastic.

"Jeff Hardy has reportedly agreed to stay through Summerslam."
Oh great, screw up CM Punks push just to keep Jeff Hardy a little longer. Great thinking there.
"Vince McMahon was visibly upset after the opener last night, and was seen throwing his headset down when the match was over."
Hey Vince, I bet you're the one who ok'ed The Big Slow to be Jericho's new partner. Anything to keep Jericho on Raw. You have nobody to blame but yourself.
Posted By: mogamer (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:43 AM
A couple of comments:
Gee, if you're putting the title on someone, you'd hope that he would stick around for at least a month. If not, that would be as dumb as putting the title on someone you know is going to be out for a few months---wait a minute...
Also, Vince upset at the opener? Gee, you mean Big Show did not receive the response he had hoped for? What a frigging shock.
I have to wonder if the people running the WWE have gotten brain transplants from the people who ran WCW into the ground in the late 90's, because we're certainly seeing many of the same mistakes (and a few brand new ones).
Posted By: Michael L (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 11:50 AM
Vince overreacting as usual
Posted By: Bill (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:00 PM
Why was Vince upset??? He is the one that booked Big Slow to be Jericho's partner??? Also he allowed them to go over Legacy. For that much he could have allowed Jericho to forfeit titles.
Posted By: Guest (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:03 PM
Why was Vinnie mad?
I'm mean, that's like watching the news and hearing, "Cananda fired a nuclear weapon at Greenland today. Tom? What's the weather like for this weekend?"
Come on. Give us a little 411 on the anger.
Posted By: David (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:08 PM
Anyone wanna bet that Chris Jericho gets blamed for whatever the hell Vince was angry about?
Posted By: BJC (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:15 PM
i guess punk vs hardy at summerslam loser leaves wwe

"Vince McMahon was visibly upset after the opener last night, feeling it didn't go over well,"
=========================
Yeah, well, when you book a heel vs. heel match to open your PPV, you're gonna be dissapointed with the reaction. Duh.
Posted By: MDK (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:24 PM
It's pretty simple Vince, don't book heel vs. heel matches in general, and esp. not in the opener with a lackluster mystery partner.
Posted By: RepoMan (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:26 PM
The tag title match probably didn't go over well because...
1. No one gave a shit about Big Show and everyone was disappointed he was the mystery partner.
and
2. No one gave a shit about Legacy either, therefore Jericho and Show were cheered and made into the faces by the live crowd.
Bad booking all around.
Posted By: Brian (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:31 PM
Does this mean that Hardy will be gone after Summerslam, or will he just take a vacation for a while and comeback with a new contract, like how rowdy piper did back then in the late 80's and early 90's.
Posted By: oh great (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:31 PM
I had a similar reaction when Big Show was revealed as the mystery partner.
Posted By: EZMark (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:35 PM
As much as Vince doesn't like the Internet, and how much he doesn't like spoilers getting out, Big Show being Jericho's partner was probably one of the worst choices for him to be tag champion. Big Show is just too boring nowadays, we get that he's a giant, but no one cares anymore about that. Sometimes Vince just has to buckle down and do what the fans want, even though it might be the most reasonable person.
Posted By: Jedi (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:37 PM
I think Vince was just upset how doughy and not intimidating Big Show looked in his new two-tone singlet. He made me look ripped. Party less on the road big guy.
Posted By: Pillsbury Dough Boy. (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:42 PM
Well, Vince must've realized he dropped the damn ball on Jericho. It's too late now.
Posted By: someone (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:44 PM
No wonder, Vince. You booked the Big Show as Jericho's surprise partner and then had the greatest wrestler in the company play "face in peril" to two guys that you and your son beat up with ease for ten minutes.
Im sure he will blame Y2J or someone else, however.

Gee...I wonder why? Could it be that the mystery partner? I mean Big Show kinda made a good thing go bad. Vince should had elevated someone like Dolph Ziggler...Miz...Chris Masters...but he decides on Big Show and the segment sucked.
Posted By: Guest#0902 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:47 PM
What does Vince expect? When you have two heel teams battling each other, it's hard for the fans to root for one or the other since they are supposed to hate them both. Conventional wisdom shows that they will root for the one they hate least (which there were some Y2J chants), but Y2J and Show have not acted as tweeners. If Vinnie Mac wanted a hot crowd he should have opened with the US Title or IC Title Match and moved this to later in the show.
Posted By: xugreatone (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 12:50 PM
is Vince's anger a one time event?
Posted By: Guest#6412 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 01:02 PM
Damn, it was obvious before the match with the Morrison lead in that Jeff was going to drop the belt at SS to SOMEONE in most likely a triple threat with Punk and Vince is probably upset at the lack of heat of the opening match because YOU BOOKED TWO FUCKING HEEL TAG TEAMS IN THE OPENING MATCH!
Posted By: Industry (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 01:07 PM
Something to do with the fact young Teddy was tapping out barely a second into Big Show's hold?
Posted By: Chungles (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 01:16 PM
You put the Big Show as the mystery partner and then wonder why the crowd doesnt care. If it is just going to be the Big Show then tell everyone. Dont hype some mystery person and give them recycled shit.
Posted By: Champ (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 01:20 PM
Well, Vince, YOU booked this shit.
Posted By: Highscore Kid (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 01:26 PM
Yeah, kinda like Vince, I threw my friggin' headset when this friggin' Flip Video ad jumped all over my 24" Samsung and I couldnt read half the news post.!! damn these ads! I also like reading newsbites, or watching video clips of ANDERSONNNnnnn, while some bitch is whining about her tampons or something in the background,.... Just Sayin'...

Posted By: Jay Smith (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 01:27 PM
apparently Vince was upset that in-ring action didn't fire up the crowd
Vince, you had two HEEL teams in there.

Dear WWE employees,
If something doesn't go over well, act childish and throw something.
WAAAA WAAAA WAAAAA.
Sincerely,

Vince McMahon

"I guess selling merchandise is more important than actually being good."
It is nerd.
Posted By: Guest#3346 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 02:00 PM
Gee, what could be wrong with the opening match?
Let's see...
Oh yeah. First up you have The Big Slow, who can't work worth a shit anymore but keeps drawing a paycheck because Vince has an erection for big men.
Then let's follow it up with this bit of stupidity - who are the fans supposed to cheer for? This isn't Ring of Honor, where the fans appreciate watching a good match and will boo the "heels" but will still show appreciation for a well-delivered match. This is WWE, where the morons in the seats are taught to boo and hate the heels... so what do the fans do when there's really no one to cheer for?
Posted By: Scott B (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 02:06 PM
Well the WWE sometimes seems to make booking decisions to swerve the IWC. Often, those choices don't work out - Batista, Big Show, Hardy.
Really, the only time Big Show has been over was with Heyman. Jericho wasn't given the time to push Show the way Heyman did.
Posted By: Guest#6186 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 02:11 PM
Well this means Punk destroys Jeff (and in Punks mind, all other drug users) at Summerslam in a loser leaves WWE Ladder Match.
Matt Hardy assists Punk of course as Matt still wants to banish his brother from WWE, creating a heel stable of Punk and Matt Hardy who recruit Dolph Ziggler and the Hart Foundation to combat John Morrison, Rey Mysterio, Finlay, and Cryme Tyme.
Could be worse.
Posted By: Guest#6986 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 02:18 PM
Shocked people didn't want to see the HEEL Jericho choose the HEEL Big Show to face the HEEL Legacy open the show.......
What were they supposed to pop for.... Big Show's Singlet?
Posted By: Guest#4319 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 02:25 PM
One day, some of you people will own and opperate a buisness and realize you cater to the PAYing customers. Paying cable isn't putting money in Vince's pocket. The money goes to the networks.
The WWE is making more money off Jeff's merchedise then everybody except John Cena right now. Why wouldn't the WWE pimp out Jeff untill the very end of his contract?

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!! Poor wittle Vince!! Seriously though Vince noone gives a crap if youre upset. We the fans have been upset at your idiocy and your garbage and we the fans have had just about enough of you not listening to what we the fans want, so if youre upset TOO FRICKING BAD! DEAL WITH IT PRINCESS!!! The WWE is a joke and Big Show sucks ok? If you'd listen to your fanbase instead of force feeding the garbage you call Sports Entertainment to people, then maybe just maybe people would pop more. However we know the truth Vince. You'll allow your ego to run amuck and continue to do the same stupid shit over and over again. Im right arent I folks? Bottom line is Vince is NO creative genius, and all one need do is look at the opening match to see that. Thank you.

Actually, the shows (RAW and Smackdown) do put money in Vince's pocket.
What is more, if people aren't watching the shows (and it is the adults who ultimately decide if the TV is on or not), merchandise does not move - it serves as advertising.
Hardy is popular with or without the belt. I don't think winning helps sell much more glowing armbands. His fans buy regardless of where he is in the title chase. Punk merchandise could use the help though.
Posted By: Guest#0737 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 05:06 PM
Vince should be pissed every minute of the day. With the stale, lame ass, piss poor, pathetic shit pile of a product the wwe produces each week... Smackdown is the only wwe show that is watchable now... and it's still not a very good show.

Lots of people have been saying this, but the problem is not heel v. heel. The problem is that Legacy is not believable as a threat to anyone anymore, and the Big Show is boring. Also, Jericho should not have spent ten minutes playing face in peril.
I think some heel/heel and face/face matches would be great instead of treating us like morons and telling us who to root for.
Besides, the crowd clearly got behind Jericho. He was the one in the ring with talent.
Posted By: Guest#8646 (Guest) on July 27, 2009 at 06:42 PM
