More late night news, including a surprising main event from the Smackdown brand…
- WWE has announced that new World Champion Jeff Hardy will defend the World Title against John Morrison on Smackdown this week. [Credit: Pwinsider.com]
- WWE announced that tickets for the 2009 Survivor Series PPV will go on sale this Saturday. There is also an Internet pre-sale starting at midnight. [Credit: Pwinsider.com]
- HHH will battle Legacy in a handicap match next week on Raw.
- Randy Orton will defend the WWE Title against John Cena at Summerslam.

So Punk comes into his own as a heel champ, cuts a great promo that evolves his character, and then is immediately cut from the title picture?
Also, when was this announced? All that has been set is that Hardy/Morrison is on for Smackdown.

I like how someone said Punk is cut from the title picture because he's not involved in a TV title shot. Hey, I wonder if CM Punk will, I don't know, interfere in the match?

it is so obvious as to what they are tryin to do for the smackdown main event...hardy vs morrison will end in a DQ ending this friday because cm punk will come out and attack hardy..and then demand his rematch clause...but morrison will be added to the mix due to the fact he was screwed out of the title shot..and the fact that he holds 2 pinfall victories over punk making it a triple threat match at summerslam

Typical internet bitching. How is that Punk cut from the title picture? Has he been regulated to jobbing to R-Truth or Charlie Haas?
Why don't you watch the damn show (it's called SmackDown) this Friday and see how the storyline goes BEFORE you start bitching.
For all we know, that match might end up in DQ due to Punk's interference thus setting up a 3-way for Summerslam.
I guess my point is just wait and see, and don't bitch for the sake of bitching. God, I hate guys like Mr. Guest#3683 so much.

Umm....if you knew ANYTHING about wrestling, you'd know that CM Punk got BURIED, and he'll never be in the main event picture again. He'll never get a rematch, and because he's no longer champion, it means the WWE hates him. I wouldn't be surprised if he were future endeavored tomorrow!

I wouldn't be surprised if they had Punk cost Hardy the title and made it a Triple Threat at Summerslam just so they can refer to Morrison as a "former world champion" ... kinda like Kane but Morrison holds the belt for a month rather than a day.
