More WWE News: Big Show and Khali Backstage Fight, Jericho Injury Update
Posted by Larry Csonka on 09.08.2009
Lots of news today…
- Many people noticed Chris Jericho sporting a nasty cut and stitches last night on Raw. The injury was suffered on September 5th in San Juan, Puerto Rico during a three-way tag team match. It was reportedly just "one of those things" that happens, and there is no story behind it.
- Before Saturday's Smackdown house show at the Manuel Iguina Coliseum in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, the Big Show and The Great Khali got into a fight backstage. Apparently there has been heat there for some time, as Big Show feels that Khali uses moves that should be exclusive to Big Show as a giant. While their six-man tag match was being put together, the two began arguing and then fighting. Big Show threw the first punch, which Khali blocked, and Show eventually slipped and fell down. Khali then got on top of him, and that was when several wrestlers broke it up and kept them apart. Among the wrestlers, the blame was being put on The Big Show for the incident.
I didn't know Big Show uses a karate chop and vice grip

Why does Big Show make as much money as he does?
He has never drawn any money to justify his contract or never been over enough as Eric Bischoff (can't believe I'm agreeing with Bischoff) rightly said. He's a big talentless oaf who's ego is bigger than his body.

I see Big Shows boxing training came in handy.
Shit though... That's a fight that I don't want to get in the middle of (though I'd happily stand a fair distance away and watch.)

Ooooh Small's gonna be PISSED!!!!
Posted By: Ben S (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 11:52 AM
I thought Big Show trained as a boxer, boxers don't slip and fall down
Posted By: J.J.T. (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 11:54 AM
Jesus Christ, who'd be brave enough to get in between those two. If it didn't sound like it was just two clumsy walruses flopping at each other, it would be a scary sight indeed.
Posted By: YAK MAN (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 11:57 AM
Did Jeff Small write that newsbit?
And what moves does Khali use exactly that the 'Bog Show' would be mad at? He does a chop to the head and crushes skulls. Both in slow motion.
Or are we talking about a different set of 'moves' that the 'Punjabi Playboy' has been stealing?
Posted By: Chungles (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 11:58 AM
That's bullshit. They were fighting over who was Jeff Small's true love.
Posted By: Big Fat Fag (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 12:01 PM
Big Show should be happy to be as over as he is. Khali does not have more charisma or even in ring ability. Khali is over in India, though.
Posted By: Guest#5503 (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 12:03 PM
Wow, Big Show and Khali going at it. They should both be glad that they're in the WWE and not working in some carny.
I don't know why Show wants Kahli's moves. Why would anyone want a move set where your knees don't bend?
Posted By: mogamer (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 12:03 PM
Khali's police training vs. TBS's boxing training.
I put my money on Khali.
There has got to be a joke in here about the number of moves Khali uses... there just has to be... but I'm drawing a blank...
Posted By: J. Alexander Mitchell (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 12:05 PM
Yea, fuck the Big Show...seriously. Egomaniac. Im not a Khali fan by any means but Big Show is an asshole and I hope Khali got his shots in.

Who is 'Bog Show'?
"Apparently there has been heat there for some time, as Bog Show feels that Khali uses moves that should be exclusive to Big Show as a giant."
...is he Big Show's creepy cousin from the swamps?

Those are some brave dudes who broke up that fight.
Posted By: future (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 12:10 PM
Seems it was The Undertaker who broke them up. Probably the only man who could.

Cripple fight!!!

Sure, a battle of the big men sounds like it could be fun, but I have images of every lame ass NBA fight I've ever seen. No word yet on whether anyone played Jeff Van Gundy by grabbing a leg and being dragged across the floor?

I just read that Joey Styles got in between and KO`d both of them!!

Can you imagine not being able to block something one of these two slow-mo mofos would throw at you? It must have been a 5 minute fight with 2 punches thrown.

your complaining about that but you don't have a problem with khali.he is not even a wrestler he is just big and retarded and the fact that he has had the heavyweight title is even more retarded.

Is that the same Bischoff that paid him loads and pushed him to the moon in WCW?

Sources suggest that the fight was broken up by Hornswoggle, who rode in on a horse, vaulted off of the horse, and nipple pinched both of them until they stopped. Big Show then ate Hornswoggle.
Posted By: Paul Schofield (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 01:17 PM
When the Big Show is motivated and healthy - he is 100x the wrestler that Khali is (sorry Small, but it's true - it's damn true). But for whatever reason, when he's not a primary focus, he becomes lazy (in the ring and maintaining his weight outside the ring). I can understand his frustration because he isn't THE big man on campus, and Khali has surprisingly been getting strong reactions from the crowd.
Plus - he was put into that Mayweather stuff and never really got a storyline payoff (i.e. turn him into the unbeatable monster and have him hold the title for a few months). Can't say that I blame the WWE - because he just can't be counted on to "carry" the company as a headliner.
I just think he's tired and frustrated. Wouldn't doubt he's gone when his contract ends, if not sooner.

I'm kind of surprised. I always considered Big Show one of wrestling's nicer guys

Khali has moves??? Since when???
Posted By: Brian (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 01:35 PM
Come on Big Show, Khali has 3 moves in his arsenal. Anything he copies from you, let him have. Its like Rey Jr complaining that other guys jump off the ropes...
Posted By: Guest#3236 (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 01:36 PM
The other night on Smackdown, Khali had Knox or Kane in the corner, and kinda did the "shhh" thing to the crowd before he did the chop to the chest. It's Big Show's spot, so maybe that's what his concern was?
Posted By: Billy Jerk Haynes (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 01:46 PM
Here's an idea Big Show, rather then crying like a girl because Khali does a few of your moves why don't you... you know... come up with some new ones. It's not like Khali is going to learn them faster then you, it's taken him this long to get the five or six he knows now.
When Kane and Show were running around choke slamming people (and tombstoning them in the case of Kane) Undertaker didn't whinge about it, he just came up with some new ones (like the Last Ride). Bitching about people doing "your" moves is just lazyness.
Personally I think it just shows a lack of confidence on Shows part.

That sounds like the worst fight ever!

I noticed that, too. But that's the only Big Show move I've ever seen him do.
Posted By: G-Walla (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 02:20 PM
I can't wait for Bryan Danielson to debut and get squashed by one of these guys. Moveset means sh&t in WWE, it's all about characters and presence.

This is going to lead to Paul gatecrashing Khali's dad's funeral, isn't it?
Posted By: diz (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 03:20 PM
ya see...the thing is that Kahli's muscles come from breaking rocks most of his life to support his family. Big Show's come from just existing.
Big Show's mouth just wrote a cheque his ass couldn't cash.
Posted By: Darth Mortis (Registered) on September 08, 2009 at 03:22 PM
I remember when Hurricane had to stop doing the chokeslam b/c it was a BIG MAN`s move only. It is just stupidity!
Posted By: FUZEY (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 03:33 PM
Wow, this and seeing the Big Show whine and bitch on the WCW DVD about how Hall and Nash were smart and made a shitload of money from WCW make him seem like a real bitch.
I'm assuming the fight was over when the kerfuffle made Undertaker drop his eyeliner pencil. The glare he shot them from another room was enough to make them melt into dust.

... and Big Show's "wrestling ability" put asses in seats when?
He's a gimmick and ONLY a gimmick. Fans... er... pardon me... "The WWE Universe" will never pay money to see Big Show "wrestle." He's a big man who happens to stumble around in the ring and knows how to fall. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but, bottom line is, he's in the WWE only because of size... not because he excels in wrestling. I PROMISE you, NO one standing in line at wrestling arenas are thinking, "Gee! I hope I get to see Big Show do a springboard hurracarrana or a shooting star press tonight!"
I also promise you that no one watching a Khali match will perk up and shout in anger, "HEY! THAT'S BIG SHOW'S MOVE!" Khali is a worse "wrestler" than Big Show, has bad knees, and doesn't even speak English to cut promos! He's also a gimmick because of his size. He just happens to be more over than Show in some circles simply because he's "fresher" and hasn't been on TV as long as show. But, again, no one expects anything spectacular from him "wrestling-wise."
Show needs a reality check and needs to give his head a shake. Put the ego to side, Show... focus on losing the gut and give up the cigarettes and realize WHY you're REALLY in that ring.

I'm with Billy Jerk. I think it started with the last episode of SMACKDOWN especially, likely when Show saw Khali getting a crowd pop out of the big palm chops in the corner. That is a spot that Big Show is known for after all and one that always grabs a reaction. I do believe though that Khali would take out Show in a real fight.
Posted By: Devin (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 04:16 PM
How the hell could Big Show and Khali understand each other? Big Show sounds like he has bugs up his nose and Khali sounds like Khali.

"Apparently there has been heat there for some time, as Big Show feels that Khali uses moves that should be exclusive to Big Show as a giant"
Why? Is Khali all of a sudden a match for Hornswoggle? Seems to me they're BOTH giants!

No... Singh isn't allowed to play with the others since Stephanie caught him smiling on camera during Raw's 500th episode show closing.
Apparently, it distracted too much away from "straight edge" CM Punk's drinking beer on camera just moments before on the same show.

2 Cold Scorpio broke up a fight between Arn F'n Anderson and Sid F'n Vicious who was stabbing him with F'n scissors. He'd put both there asses in line. And really Big Show's moves are what? Punch and a Chokeslam? I think Show's just pissed about losing the job of token scary big guy in Adam Sandler sports movies.

That knock punch on Khali awhile back didn't turn out to well this time.
Posted By: Guest#0905 (Guest) on September 08, 2009 at 09:41 PM
Khali would kill Show in a real fight. Show is a better pro-wrestler than Khali.
Show has a point that Khali should not use the "shush" spot in the corner.
Trying to hit him to get it across is f***ing dumb though, as he'll get his ass handed to him.
LMFAO at the people who believe in their fighting skills though to the extent that only Undertaker could break it up. 80% of the locker would destroy Show, and a genuine tough guy like Finlay would destroy Khali.

I thought Shockmaster owned that one.
Posted By: Neil (Guest) on September 09, 2009 at 05:38 AM
It doesn't surprise me that Show would have some heat with Khali: he's the first person who could really threaten Show's position as "the largest man in the WWE", being taller and generally fitter than him. Plus for all his crappiness, he at least gives it his all: half the time Show's so unmotivated he's practically sleepwalking.
Frankly, Show should stop doing the "Shhh" spot, as it's a "face" sort of move to get a rise out of the crowd: since Khali's a face, it just works better for him. I don't think Khali was being cocky about it, he probably thought it was a nice tribute.
Khali comes across as a really humble, genuinely nice guy, who may have a mediocre workrate but at least tries his best, not to mention donates a large amount of his proceeds to charity in his home town. Big Show comes across as a gigantic prick with a huge ego and wildly inconsistent work ethic, whose substantial paycheck is spent entirely on himself.
I'd rather watch Big Show wrestle, but my sympathies are totally with Khali on this one, the point where I'd rather Khali had a job than Big Show. At least Khali's doing some good with his money at the expense of taking up TV time.
Posted By: The Tortoise King (Registered) on September 09, 2009 at 07:19 AM
Khali is stealing moves from the Big Show? What, like, chops, big boots and headbutts? That's both man's whole offense basically.
Big Show probably could do alot more, but he's been booked as a boxer who doesn't require any sort of grappling moves. Khali... well, he's basically a cripple, everyone knows it, and I don't know why Show would even care considering he's more over than Khali.
Petty and stupid fight it seems. Still, wouldn't like to get between that mess.
