More On Jeff Hardy Story: Hardy Responds, Official Sheriff's Office Statement
Posted by Ashish on 09.11.2009

- Jeff Hardy has posted the following on his Twitter page.

"Alot of exaggerations are out there today, don't believe everything you read 4 it is not true, I am at home and fine-thanks for your concern."

- The Moore County Sheriff's Office issued this statement moments ago.
September 11, 2009

Sheriff Lane Carter reports the arrest of an individual on charges of trafficking in controlled prescription pills,
and possession of anabolic steroids. Sheriff Carter reported a joint investigation conducted by officers from
the Moore County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, Moore County Sheriff's Office Select Enforcement Unit, and
Fayetteville Police Department led to the arrest.

Officers executed a search warrant at a residence located at [Address Deleted] near Cameron, North Carolina. During the search officers located and seized approximately 262 Vicodin prescription pills, 180 Soma prescription pills ( Soma's are non-controlled prescription pills), 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, a residual amount of powder cocaine, and items of drug paraphernalia. Vicodin and anabolic steroids are included in Schedule III within the North Carolina Controlled Substances Act. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $2,500.00.

Arrested was:

Jeffrey Nero Hardy 32 years of age

Jeffrey Nero Hardy was arrested on September 11, 2009 and charged with felony trafficking in opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jeffrey Nero Hardy received a $125,000.00 secured bond and was placed in the Moore County Detention Center.

Damn you Matt Hardy...you cost him the title, you burn his house down, you kill (eat?) his dog, you tease a reunion with him, and then you let him leeave WWE knowing he'd get bagged for drug use. Matt Hardy....will.....not.......die.

On behalf of the Internet Wrestling Community, I would like to thank Jeff Hardy immensely for all his contributions to professional wrestling. He is truly an innovator, pioneer, role model and certainly an aspiration to all he comes in contact with.

Its great to know WWE interrupted the title reign at Night of Champions of a more deserving wrestler in CM Punk to reward a drug addict for messing up and almost putting the company's rep in danger. Fuck you Jeff and fuck all his little supporters.

The WWE would like to thank CM Punk for banishing Jeff just in time, so as not to be linked to this story...

Jeff Hardy is a drug addict. Good thing he left before wellness violation 3. Hopefully, Vince never uses Hardy footage again, just like Benoit. Why promote drug addicts and trafficers?

Why was there a search warrant? What prompted this? You need a certain type of legal basis to obtain a search warrant.

Wow I find the comments here HILARIOUS. Why? Because I see everyone MASSIVELY condemning Jeff (and deservedly so). But its funny that his arrest for drug use gets a stronger negative reaction than that asshole Benoit MURDERING his family. Let's see. Drug use vs. MURDER. Both are bad but I think child killing is worse. And the reaction to this is stronger than murder. What a joke. Don't get me wrong. Jeff should be condemned and taken to task because this is serious business but its not as bad as murdering a woman and small child.

Stop your worrying. Eddie Guerrero took a LOT more steroids than Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle combined. Not to mention he already knocked on deaths door after that car crash in 1999.

People have been saying Kurt Angle will die soon for around 4 years now and it hasn't happened. Jeffrey Nero will be around for a while too.

Isn't it fucking awesome how the kids who watch the product cheer for these drug addicted losers. I mean, come on. Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, who's next? The sad part is that these are the guys who get pushed to the moon and never go to the bottom of the card while other worthwhile wrestlers who haven't failed drug tests are stuck in limbo because the drug addicted older guard doesn't want to step away from the spotlight. How long is it going to take for the McMahon family to realize that these people are not the role models for children to look up to. At least they have one man to step up and admit that he is clearly drug free, why don't they have more? It doesn't mean much because Punk isn't gonna be champ for much longer which is sad because he is the kind of athlete that children should aspire to be. Instead we get roided up, pill popping freaks instead. I just don't get what the McMahon's are thinking.

I mean you dont live in America so...well if you dont have a house to raid they will raid your little straw hut during supper time when your three daughter wives are sleeping with their mother...literally...And yes benoit was a great wrestler, jeff was a circus...plus I consider benoit mentally gone at the time, like a psycho if you will...jeff well he was just a plain moron

It said ongoing investigation, and Jeff just recently got off the road. . . that means either his woman had setup one helluva operation in his absense; Jeff travels with a LOT of painkillers; or Jeff had one HELL of a coming home party.

Seriously you guys didn't know his middle name was Nero? Do you actually read the internets? Or just start spouting bullshit after the first sentance or two? It's not like this is breaking news. Of course he had pain pills in his house. I'm sure if you broke into any wrestlers house, you'd find the same shit. The only reason it's "intent to sell" is because of the quantity they found. Anything over a certain amount is automatically "intent to sell" whereas the more logical explanation is .. for a guy who's on the road constantly, it would make sense to have a rather large stash in case you can't get somewhere to get more when you run out.

Jesus .. a week ago most people were thanking Jeff for all the years he broke himself for their enjoyment .. and now that he's arrested for drug charges, he's condemned? I'd like to see any of you go out and do 1 1/10th of the stuff he did in a TLC and NOT need major painkillers.

Go ahead .. I'll wait.

Thought so. Shut the fuck up. Wait until the full story comes out before you shit on the mans career.

It really amazes me that a group of people that claim to love wrestling as much as the IWC does .. bitches as much as they do. If you don't like it, don't fucking watch it.

And comparing this to Benoit is the dumbest, most tasteless thing I've seen done here in a long time, and that's saying something, because everyday in these columns, it's a race to see who can be the biggest douche.

(Here, I'll even write that joke for you .. that I win the award for biggest douche today.)

WTF? Somebody had to snitch. The cops wouldn't just go snoping around his private residence for absolutely no reason or just on a hunch.

The steroids COULD be explained, seeing as he is a wrestler and may need to repair damaged tissue (as Kurt explained). The pain pills, too, since he does regularly jump off of ladders and may be dealing with a few aches and pains.

The cocaine, however, is pretty inexcusable. I never messed with the booger sugar and I honestly don't care about anyone that does, but this looks pretty bad in the public eye.

There's difference between a "few drugs lying around" and what Jeff Hardy had in his house.

And at least Kardasian's ass made it to Wrestlemania 24.

As far as the Vicodan and Soma, that's actually not that many pills. Anyone can get those pills from a doctor. All you need to do is tell them you have a bad back, hurt foot, banged up knee. They'll give you the pills. People in all walks of life are addicted to those pills. The steroids are not a suprise and residual cocaine could be found on the money you have in your pocket. The paraphenalia could be anything from a bong to a pair of alligator clips that the cops can say are used to smoke marijuana with. This seems to me to be a set up. I have a feeling the local cops have probably had it out against him for years and finally got him.

"Alot of exaggerations are out there today, don't believe everything you read 4 it is not true," Yea the cops were bored today so they arrested him and lied about all the stuff in his house. At this point should cops even have to give a reason for a search warrent of a current or prior WWE wrestlers home?

Posted By: thejyav (Guest)  on September 13, 2009 at 03:00 AM

Soma is in fact now a controlled substance. That was just changed.

I take Soma and Vicodin for a legit back problem (4 surgeries, 14 years of pain and being disabled because of it) and I can tell you that over time you build up a tolerance to the drugs.

They are addictive but only if abused. If taken correctly they can help people with chronic pain find some relief.

The amounts listed can not, repeat, can not be obtained in such large quantities legally. They simply will not issue prescriptions for that many pills.

Either Jeff has had scripts and wasn't taking them while in the "E" for fear of the 3rd strike or he has obtained them by "other"(illegal) means.

Being that he is very popular and a NC icon, he may be able to get them from a pharmacist that is infatuated with his stardom and takes money under the table or he has other people getting the scripts for him.

The thing that makes him "guilty" (in the eyes of the law) is the cocaine.

The steroids are explainable, but not the quantities of Soma and Vicodin.

Was he dealing? Probably not. Was he in possession of more of those drugs then should be had, absolutely.

And please understand, Soma can kill you if taken in large quantities. Getting the shakes, sleeplessness, lose of muscle control and severe dependence are strong possibilities.

The "detox" from Vicodin is akin to kicking heroin. It is a bad, bad, time.

I pray for Jeff Hardy. He needs people to support him and if he has to serve time, then he has to serve time.

The means the warrant was obtained will come out and we will see who gave Jeff up.

The real problem is the man has an addictive personality and must be monitored.

His brother is just acting as most family members do. Trying to support by covering up the problem.

Of course this is speculation on my part, but it would appear that Jeff Hardy is in need of serious help and I hope he gets it before tragedy strikes.

Thanks for reading.

Of course this is speculation on my part, but it would appear that Jeff Hardy is in need of serious help and I hope he gets it before tragedy strikes.

the bets thing about this is all of these people saying how terrible Jeff is because he got caught with/ does drugs!!!

Apparently you guys don't know too much about pro wrestling!! Almost EVERY wrestler EVER had done/been caught with/sold/trafficked DRUGS!!!

Roddy Piper got paid off with cocaine in Puerto Rico for Christs' sake!!

You people need to get real!! If you don't like drugs or people that do drugs then you better turn your telelvision off right now!! You better break all of those CD's you have!!! You better not go and look at another piece of art EVER again(not that you do that now anyway!!)

Face facts, DRUGS are a part of life! You don't do them?? Good for you! Now shut the fuck up!!

Pro Wrestling has been FULL of drugs FOREVER and will CONTINUE to be FILLED with drugs for as long as it is around!!

Wake up you idiots!!! DRUGS are around, they are gonna be around, people are gonna get busted, people will die, This is life and you keyboard jockeys need to realize this!!!!

hell I got pain meds I don't take in my house. But for the sake of innocent before proven guilty. I find it hard to believe he will sell drugs. He gave his all to the wrestling biz and is a great performer drugs or no drugs and non of your opinions will change my mind. I would love to see half of you who posted the comments out there try to do what Jeff Hardy does. I always hated the storyline punk had anyways. It sucks to have your history thrown in your face week after week. Don't you think if your accused of it why not do it theory falls into play eventually. WHo are you to judge him. Are you judging yourself first! Jeff stand tall.

On behalf of Jeff Hardy fans everywhere. Jeff, we love you man. We respect you, but you've got to get away from the drugs and beat the demons that are taking over your life. Too many WWE superstars have died from drug use. Great superstars, and you know who they are. Nobody wants you to be next. Personally, I want to see you back in the WWE someday. I don't want to tune into Raw one of these nights and see "In memory of Jeff Hardy" on my TV screen before the show. Think about all the guys who have died from drug use. Think of Davey Boy, think of Andrew Martin and think of the great Eddie Guerrero. It's not the way to go man. Get your life together so that we can see you in a WWE ring again and retain the World Championship that I really believe you deserve.

1rst of all you all are bashing jeff for the amount of vicodin & Soma he had well any more a lot of doctors will give you a 3 month supply for the simple reason that most pharmaceutical companies do mail order most insurance companies push you to buy them that way so it cuts their cost way down ..i got hurt pretty bad in 2003 my doctor sends mine in like that and it cost me less then when i went to the pharmacy evey month and take 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed you do math the quantities wasn't that much when you add it up... as for the steroids and cocaine i can't comment on because that's none of my business and really none of yours so get off his ass he hasn't been convicted of anything yet and he may never be
