All the action for this Friday's show!
Provided exclusively to 411mania.com by 411's own Stephen Randle
- Teddy Long arrives in a limo, surrounded by security.
- Batista opened the show with an in-ring promo. Chris Jericho interrupted, claiming that Smackdown has changed since Batista left, and he is now "the Man" on Smackdown. Batista informed Jericho that they had a match together tonight, then hit Jericho with a spinebuster.
- Backstage, Jericho accosted Show for not being out there, then said he would beat Batista on his own.
- John Morrison defeated Mike Knox. Dolph Ziggler was on commentary during the match, and was mocked by Morrison afterwards. Morrison vs Ziggler looks to be on for Hell in a Cell.
- Josh Mathews interviews Scott Armstrong (the referee from Taker-Punk at Breaking Point), who says he was only following orders to save his job
- Melina defeated Michelle McCool in a non-title match
- Backstage, Vince questions why Teddy Long screwed the Undertaker, then orders him to go out and explain his actions.
- Teddy comes out with his security force, explains that he did set up the Undertaker to fail, but, he felt he had to in order to keep his job. He apologized to the fans and the Undertaker.
- Backstage, Teddy gets in his limo to leave, but is trapped inside. The driver's window rolls down and Taker says "Where to, Stephanie?" "Buckle up, Teddy". Smoke rises inside the limo as it drives off.
- CM Punk cuts a promo about how he keeps coming out to tell us "I told you so". He preaches the usual stuff about the fans needing drinks, drugs, and cigarettes to get through the day, and how they're lying to themselves, their families, and worst of all, to him. Therefore, he's better than you.
- The Hart Dynasty defeated Cryme Tyme. Kidd used an impressive-looking flip-over neckbreaker for the pin.
- The Great Khali defeated Kane by DQ when Kane used a chair. Kane then trapped Khali's leg in the ring steps and smashed it multiple times, denting the steps so badly they had to be removed for the rest of the show. Hopefully they'll use an angle that doesn't show how badly he missed. Khali did a stretcher job.
- Charlie Haas vs R-Truth didn't happen because Drew McIntyre came out to R-Truth's music and said he wasn't available, so Haas won by forfeit. McIntyre shook Haas' hand, then gave him a sit-out double-arm DDT.
- Batista defeated Chris Jericho
- In a post-Smackdown dark match, CM Punk defeated The Undertaker by DQ when Taker kicked a chair back in Punk's face. Taker then chokeslammed Punk and delivered two Tombstones.
- Backstage, Teddy gets in his limo to leave, but is trapped inside. The driver's window rolls down and Taker says "Where to, Stephanie?" "Buckle up, Teddy". Smoke rises inside the limo as it drives off.
LMAO. The memories..

I'm pleased to see Kidd using the whacky neckbreaker.

So let's see here...
Punk gets repeatedly laid out by Taker. "Wins" their first match via Montreal Screwjob. "Wins" the dark match via DQ and gets laid out.
Yep, looks like Punk is being booked to be a weak champ again. Now we have Batista on Smackdown, and we know Vince has a raging hardon for him. Does anyone think Punk will last to Mania as champ?

Batista defeated Chris Jericho
Why? Why is it that he just comes back and immediately scores pinfall wins over Orton and then Y2J? It's not like Batista needs these wins immediately after coming back. What's next? A title shot on Raw AND Smackdown next week? What ever happened to building someone up upon a debut or a return?
Posted By: Puff (Guest) on September 16, 2009 at 01:05 AM
This does not look good. Taker and Batista are back and our weekly good match quota takes a limo ride to hell.
Is this Drew McIntyre/R-Truth angle the Chavo/Hornswoggle of Smackdown? How many weeks of the same thing is it going to take for this to go somewhere?

Awesome.

It's called, The Code Blue.

Since Batista beat Jericho, when Rey comes back have them reunite and face JeriShow for the titles. Thatd be awesome!

I can't wait to see the Undertaker get his revenge on Teddy Long. I always love it when Undertaker attacks people backstage

What the fuck? I thought Vince wanted Teddy to start being more evil. Now he's chastising and questioning for Teddy Long screwing the Undertaker, when Vince clearly wants Long to shift more towards his evil way of thinking.

I just love having Taker back........now put the strap back where it belongs around the deadmans waist, then all will be right.
Posted By: melissa (Guest) on September 16, 2009 at 03:04 AM
Ryan Haseldine, that's top notch thinking. You've found a possible good use of Batista on Smackdown.
Hopefully losing the gold would free up Jericho for a star making fued with John Morrison.

Fucking hell, I'd love to see Batista get dominated every once in awhile. He's horribly booked, he's made everyone his bitch yet can't win a world title.
People care less about him than Samoa Joe a couple of years ago. The only concievable competition he has is Big Show, who is also terribly booked. He needs a change.
Posted By: Banz (Guest) on September 16, 2009 at 04:48 AM
Boo. Fuck off Batista.

Batista/Mysterio win the titles at Survivor Series or the TLC PPV due to Edge-erference. Sets up Jericho & Edge at Mania with months to build.

Im glad Jericho is back as a singles guy on smackdown this week, as good as his team is with Show, it will be cool to see him back as he was a few months ago on the show.
Its seems they are heading for Jeri/Show v Batista/Rey soon which is a good idea.
Really looking forward to Taker in the limo, should be pretty funny.

BOOO! Jericho JOBBED to Batista! so they make jericho absolutely helpless without his giant bodyguard around? i can only sense bad things brewing for SD.

Wins" the dark match via DQ and gets laid out
-------------------------
Do you not know that dark matches mean nothing at all? its only to send the live fans home happy, if its not on tv nobody should care.
Posted By: jbardo (Guest) on September 16, 2009 at 06:44 AM
What was the big announcement?
And Zero, have some fucking patience for christ sake, it's been like 3 weeks.
Posted By: Chungles (Guest) on September 16, 2009 at 06:45 AM
This evil boss angle is new and refreshing to me. Maybe they can add some sort of invasion angle to this.
Posted By: Champ (Guest) on September 16, 2009 at 06:58 AM
And it begins. I can only imagine the folks sitting in a locker room, someone asking out loud: "So, now that Boretista is coming over to SD!, who'll be his weekly whipping boy?". Followed by people's eyesight diverting towards Jericho.

Please, please let Batista's storyline for the next few weeks be "Big Dave looks for a tag partner". Anything to keep him out of the title picture.

I know it's been recognized already, but +15 for "Where to, Stephanie?"!

Taker needs to put CM Punk over. This is the start of a new era and Punk is going to be the face of Smackdown. It's not hard to do, tell Taker, you lose or you lose the streak at WM. That is all.
And no, don't drag Punk vs. Taker out till WM. Taker needs to retire undefeated there.

Batista is like the 1998-99 Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jax went 15-0 against the league that year, and 0-3 against the Titans.
Batista owns everyone in WWE except Edge. (Yes, he's NEVER lost a match to Triple H OR Cena, he's won every PPV match against Orton one on one, AND he's one of the very few to beat Undertaker CLEAN. Cena hasn't even done that.) The choker label he got was somewhat unwarranted, since they booked it like Kane was the only reason he didn't take the title from CM Punk last year, and Edge is the only person he couldn't beat for the title. He only got the "choker" label because he got like a million title shots against Edge and lost ALL of them.
Long story shot: Edge is Batista's kryptonite.

So Drew stole Kizarny's finisher from FCW that Kizarny used on him?
And where is the kilt?
Posted By: kanyesucks (Guest) on September 16, 2009 at 12:24 PM
I usually hate when reporters who provide results insert their usually lame and unfunny comments instead of just giving show details. But if you're going to do it, the "Where to, Stephanie" reference is the way to go!
I then realized it was a 411 writer who submitted the report which not only made the joke acceptable, it also made sense since the typical poster who goes to a show doesn't have a stitch of humor to be attempting jokes.
Also, re: Randle's note on the camera angle for the Kane-Khali segement, don't worry. Since Smackdown is forever taped, they'll clean it up nicely for the broadcast. Wouldn't want a real, off the cuff moment, now would we? But as long as Smackdown is content with being the permanent B show (regardless of the talent or action), they can continue to post-produce to their hearts' content.

See, this is what sucks right here . . . there's no rational explanation for most everything.
* Why did Teddy screw Taker?
* Why is Drew mad at R Truth?
* Why Morrison the champ and not Ziggler?
* why do we care?
etc.

The Lord Of Darkness was one of the best Taker gimmicks.CM Punk isn't being booked as a weak champ just a lucky one can you say Randy Orton or Edge? Same damn thing and "Dark matches" aren't cannon in wrestling asshole they are just there to give the fans what they want to see live get a clue.
Posted By: The_Lord_Of_Darkness (Guest) on September 16, 2009 at 11:55 PM
Well I guess I'm going to have to DVR this just to see the "where to, Teddy?" line.
