More WWE News: Jeff Hardy In Court Tomorrow, More Press For Big Ben, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw Updates, More

More Tuesday WWE news…
- WPXI News in Pittsburgh has an article up on Ben Roethlisberger hosting Raw, which you can read here.
- The Trentonian interviewed Tommy Dreamer in order to hype this week's ECW/Smackdown tapings in Trenton, New Jersey. Dreamer discusses the rush of performing, his upcoming 20th anniversary in wrestling and more. You can check out that interview here.
- WWE held a chat with THQ's Jon Durr to promote the forthcoming Smackdown vs. Raw video game. Durr noted fans will be able to create their own storylines with the new game (as opposed to just playing ones scripted into the game) then share them with other fans online. He said there would some new match types, including something specifically for the Divas. Fans purchasing the game from Gamestop will be able to receive a code to download Steve Austin for the game. There will be 16 Arenas and more backstage areas than ever before. WWE Superstars (the show) will not be included in the game. Announce teams for the game will be Michael Cole & Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross & Tazz, and Todd Grisham & Striker as the commentary audio had to be recorded well in advance in order to be ready for the game. - Jeff Hardy heads to court tomorrow, and will be arraigned on the following charges [Credit: Pwinsider.com]:
* Felony possession of cocaine.
* Felony drug trafficking of opium
* Felony possession with intent to redistribute a Schedule III drug (two counts).
* Maintaining a dwelling for drug use and/or distribution.
* Possession of drug paraphernalia. (misdemeanor)
Say what you want about Dreamer, but he's been a solid hand for Vince the last 8 years. Clearly they think that too since he's the only ECW original they bothered to retain (aside from RVD who left on his own accord).

wait, no big show in the game? wtf? no jerishow tag team? DAMN! the thing i hate about these games is that since so much crap happens in wrestling from week to week, by the time these games come out, they are so outdated! i would say that downloadable content could fix this prob, but going by the downloadable content available for last year's version, i dont think its gonna do much. i mean instead of giveing us new wrestlers like ryder, or the new heart foundation, they will prob give us hacksaw jim duggan and sgt slaughter

No no, it was a mistake, you can't draw any conclusions, Jeff Hardy DID NOT have any drugs for himself, and even if he did, it wasn't with any intentions. They must've got there by a mistake... That's it, he was keeping them for a friend and thought it was candy and some sugar.

I don't actually see what is so hard about re-integrating new commentary or wrestlers into the game once the rest of it is made. Why they have to for some reason do all that a year before the game is actually ready I don't know. In something that changes as fast as wrestling I would say it's vital to be able to do that.

I read what was taken from the house, where do the Opium charges come from?

Hahaha, good one. But, what's sad is I'll bet there are some people who actually believe that!

Where did it say the Big Show wasn't in? He was in last year (I think) and I thought I read he was in 2010 too

I was part of that game chat. It felt a lot like Sean O'Haire and Sid: They told us what we already know, and the host threw nothing but softballs.

WWE's holding Raw in Wilkes-Barre, which is eastern PA. ...So chances are Big Ben is gonna get a Cena reaction.
They should've just booked him to appear at the bingo hall.

There's no such thing is Gamestop over here. Fuck you THQ.

This is probably why you don't work for a video game maker!
If the game is ALREADY MADE, how do expect them to insert NEW COMMENTARY??
Not only that, they have to program the game so that the commentary goes with the matches. How are they suppossed to record AND insert new commentary into the game that has already been programmed to use other commentary??
As far as new wrestlers go, they have to "scan" the wrestlers and then ANIMATE them which takes A LOT of time to do. Plus, they have release date schedules to keep and they cannot do that by going back to the begining to insert new wrestlers.
You would think that since they have been doing this game for YEARS now, you would realize that the new editions of the game are more similar to LAST YEARS lineup, than they are to this years lineup/storylines!
Those reasons (and more!) are WHY "it is so hard to re-integrate new commentary or wrestlers into the game once the rest of it has been made"!

If Jeff had pain killers in his possession, it should probably be charges of possession of "opiates" and not "opium." Just my two cents.

Rothlisburger should be focusing on football now, and not doing something like Raw. I even think it's bad when pro athletes are even AT raw during their season, but to be involved in the show is much worse! I remember they gave Rodman a bunch of crap a few years ago when he did this with WCW. They better treat Rothlisburger the same.
That's why there's an offseason. Just now is not the time or place.

It's a good thing he got busted... with WWE's strict drug testing he must've been clean and he would have ODd with all those drugs floating around...
*snicker*

Can't wait to see Hardy's jailtime announced tomorrow here on 411. The man has nobody to blame but himself, for screwing things up in two promotions over drug usage, and even squandering everything from big name storylines to main event matches over his habit. I hope the prison time he gets will get him clean, and I do hope he gets a few years to clean up and re-evaluate his life from rock bottom. One word of advice Jeff: That Swanton ain't gonna work in an 8x8 cell so bend over and get used to it.
