The Latest On Jeff Hardy’s Court Case
Posted by Larry Csonka on 10.01.2009
Jeff begins a long process…
Here is the latest on the Jeff Hardy legal situation. Hardy will return to court on November 14th for a probable cause hearing. The hearing will he held in the Moore County Criminal District Court in Carthage, North Carolina. The hearing will be to determine if a crime was committed, and if Jeff Hardy did indeed commit those crimes.
If there is probable cause that Hardy committed these crimes, the case will then proceed to the grand jury. They would review the case evidence, and decide whether or not to indict Hardy on the drug related charges he faces.
From there, if Hardy is indicted, the case would move to superior court, where he would be tried on the charges. That is unless there is some plea bargain agreement if or when they get to this stage.
And the wheels of the judicial system slowly turn!!!

Will Hardy do his dance on his entrance to his cell?

Say no to drugs kids

He'll waive the preliminary hearing (or lose it) because probable cause is such a low standard. It'll go to the grand jury and he'll be indicted. He then goes trial. Book it!

Don't worry, I've already written the storyline and he'll be a Heel when he gets convicted so you can all laugh at the prison rape scenes.

Jeff Hardy on a "pole" match.
You can get an indictment on anything from a Grand Jury. That stage is meaningless. Probable cause seems to be reasonably established.

If Hardy avoids jail (hey its possible) expect WWE to welcome back with open (if wary) arms and push him instead of punishg him
Posted By: The_Mystical_Ninja (Guest) on October 01, 2009 at 06:38 PM
He'll plead it out.

Could I just ask, am I'm not trolling, but as patriotic as Americans claim to be, why dont any of you back up your judicial system.
What happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Is this the Hardy whose house burned down with no insurance?

Since I'm from England I don't understand the system:
he goes to court to determine if a crime was comitted - shouldn't that have been determined when he was arrested?
he then goes again to determine whether it was him or not - shouldn't they have interviewed him?
Posted By: Guest#0574 (Guest) on October 01, 2009 at 07:23 PM
Hahahahaha. Smarks are hilarious.

That only applies to the legal system, not to public opinion. The government has no power to rule on what opinions people should hold. No person who believes in personal freedom should think so or have any thought that a ruling has anything to do with truth.

Indeed, in no operating legal system does a court determine if a crime has been committed. Rather, police find evidence of a crime and investigate to determine the likely perpetrator. The evidence gets sent to the district attorney, who decides if he has enough evidence to press charges. The DA has a staff of investigators to flesh out the evidence.
The court merely determines if there is sufficient evidence to go to trial. Obviously if the evidence points to somebody else, the court wouldn't let the case continue. Also, no DA would go to trial with a case they do not believe they can win - and that includes having what the evidence shows is likely the wrong person.
No, there is no separate action to determine if it is the wrong person. And obviously, any guilty party has great motive to lie in any country.
The proceedings are largely the same as in England, upon which the American legal system is based. Indeed, Blackstone is often quoted in American jurisprudence.

Seriously would you guys just get off Jeffs nuts, not that it really matters what any of you have to say regardless. Jeff Hardy is a household name. Jeff Hardy is loved by people all over the world. I know this isn't his first strike. I know its not his second. Are any of you perfect? Can you handle the stress of being a mainstream icon (better then calling him a legend). The point is, this is when Jeff needs the support of his fans and if your not a Jeff Hardy fan, then atleast the support of wrestling fans. Jeff has given us so much time and time again, show some humanity.

'undeserved World title reigns'
Comments like this make me want a 'Fuck the IWC' T-Shirt. Jeff worked his ass off in this latest run in WWE and was very entertaining; which is his job by the way, WWE is entertainment, not wrestling.
If you want proper wrestling, there's nothing stopping you from watching New Japan, or ROH. Idiot

I think you all should get off Jeff's back first of all if this was any of you on trial would it be such a huge issue? c'mon is this b/c he is a world famous wrestler who has loved his fans till the end? I think people should take the drama out of the equation yes he is human and as a human we make mistakes u cannot tell me that all of u people have never screwed up if so UR LYING!! I belive that this matter should have been kept private away from people who ohh and ahh just for kicks Jeff is human so he likes to party dosnt make him right but also dosnt give any of you hypocrites the right to judge him at all "do unto others as you would have them do unto u" is a great quote and also "judge others as you would want to b judged" so I would'nt say anything bad about anyone b/c everything we do in life comes back to haunt us nomatter how big or small people r wrong to judge and hypocrites when they do to Jeff i say good luck and im sorry that your going thru this mess i hope that things work out in your favor ur a great wrestler and and u deserve better than all the attacks!

Have any of you actually checked what the prescription drugs was far that was found they were strong pain killers can any of you imagine the pain he must be in ever day with the things he puts his body through every night just for YOUR entertainment of cause he's going to be on pain killers and a hell of a lot of them ok the coke is another matter but that was only a small amount and as for the drug related paraphernalia in england you can buy that stuff everywhere but it's certainly not illegal to HAVE it in your house so what it really amounts to is the cocaine charges i don't agree with drugs but with some people you can understand why they do it i'm disabled and in constant pain and some days i'd even contemplate doing something illegal give the guy a break he's obviously in alot of pain because of your entertainment
Posted By: vicky550 (Guest) on October 04, 2009 at 06:23 AM
Yes he is inecent till proven guilty but from his past track record with the WWE he had a drug problem the first time he was suspended, So i would be willing to bet that yeah he is guilty. He should do his time like all the other rich celebrities who think there money can get them out of trouble.Better yet for his sentence i would ask the judge to send him to where i am for 3 years, Here fighting in Iraq and see what he thinks about pissing away a good life, for some drugs. and live like the rest of us average americans

Jeff's not going to jail, there's a rumor that the police actully added to the drug charges.
because they put a package on his door step and he opened it and it had drugs in.
then they charged in after he opened it so they added it on.
it maybe a rumor but if it is true I'll be angry with them ¬¬ He is my Hero in wrestling :D since I'm gonna be one hopefuly ...maybe.... ):
I will defend him, so those of you who say he's a druggy and think he should go to jail...YOUR ALL WRONG!!!!!

This is for all the people out there who have something to say about Jeff Hardy; I first got to see him this year in July when he came to Baltimore and I have got to tell you I took my whole family to see him; we love him and for the couple of hours we had the greatest time of our lives. So you people who talk bad about him, you now turn your backs on him God shows forgiveness to us all everyday look deep down in yourselves and think back when you've done things that you were not so proud of, and you prayed that people would forgive you. Don't you think he's feeling the same thing, he knows that what he did was wrong; and that's assuming that everything that is listed is infact true. So before you pass judgement on your brother on earth, think of the forgiveness that your Father in Heaven has shown you.
