Tuesday night news...
- Mick Foley is setting up a stand-up comedy tour where he will perform the coutine he did in Los Angeles at the Improv during Summerslam weekend. Most of his routine was based on stories from his wrestling career. Dates should be announced soon.
- Rob Van Dam has a new WWE Universe blog entry up promoting his radio show for tomorrow which has the following topic.
"Hypothetically, should RVD go to WWE or TNA?"
- The pre-sale code for the 12/29 WWE Smackdown/ECW taping in East Rutherford, NJ at the IZOD Center is ACCESS. The pre-sale begins tomorrow.
RVD should go to WWE, specifically Smackdown and replace that God-awful CM Punk.

An RVD vs. Punk feud would be great, Punk is straight edge meaning no drugs and RVD would totally piss him off

Hypothetically, RVD should make me a sandwich.

No, RVD should go to Smackdown and ob to that fantastic CM Punk.

is the radio show a one-time deal?
Posted By: Guest#2875 (Guest) on October 06, 2009 at 10:22 PM
Damn it, I thought RVD might be one of those people that was able to resist the urge to come back and work for Papa Vince. That's one of the reasons I was growing to respect him more, because he got to leave on his own terms. Now he's getting the itch again, which means the list is shrinking. We're back to Rock, Austin, and a couple of the popular divas as the only ones that left wrestling with their heads held high.
I shouldn't be surprised. When Bret Hart, of all people, is thinking about a comeback, you know that wrestling really is like the Hotel California. If RVD does come back though, it should be WWE for sure. TNA is where careers go to die.

I'd vote neither. Wrestling has gone downhill so much in the two years since he left. Might as well be remembered for your best days, and not as a watered down goof like all these other guys have become.

I didn't want to mention this on my blog, but I have a third option just for you guys at 411:
Hypothetically, where should RVD go
-WWE
-TNA
-One shot deal

RVD should go to WWE so he can be overlooked again in favour of crap like Batista, John Cena and Randy Orton.
Posted By: JAK (Guest) on October 06, 2009 at 10:40 PM
hmm RVD go to the wwe where you job out to cena... go to TNA where you basically rule the x division and have an easy schedule, hmm i don't know tough call
Posted By: Guest#4565 (Guest) on October 06, 2009 at 10:54 PM
hypothetically he should go to WWE (more money). realistically he should go to TNA (better matches, more respect, won't be treated like crap for doing what they know he'll be doing all along).
Posted By: Guest#5329 (Guest) on October 06, 2009 at 11:11 PM
Overlooked? Dude got both ecw and wwe championships at the same time. He beat john cena for it! I love RVD but like jeff hardy he screwed himself over! yes i went the jeff hardy route!

Mick Foley's tenure in TNA is a comedy tour if I've ever heard of one.

"We're back to Rock, Austin, and a couple of the popular divas as the only ones that left wrestling with their heads held high."
That's why The Rock was on SD last week and will guest host RAW sooner than later ?
That's why Austin has been seen at every single Cyber Sunday as "referee", at Mania in a battle of billionnaires and riding a quad and is still eating in Vince's hands ?
YOU FAIL

WWE
Pros:
* More Money
* Bigger Main-Stream Attention
* Hot return could lead to a big world title run again (or at least get to be the hottest star and become a definite title holder in ECW.)
Cons:
* Heavier work schedule.
* Could be overlooked by John Cena, HHH, Batista, Undertaker, etc.
* Could just want you for ECW only.
* Wellness Policy could be an issue.
TNA:
Pros:
* Light Work Schedule
* Likely to be a top main-eventer right away (definitely highlight him as a former world champ coming to TNA again.)
* Could make an Impact (no pun intended.)
* No known wellness policy.
Cons:
* Less money/less recognition.
* Could end up in Main Event Mafia or just get lost in the shuffle because of TNA over hiring stars.
* Might just end up being viewed as another "WWE-ject", be it only by the IWC mostly.
I gave TNA less cons but it's really all in what RVD really wants. Does he really want to wrestle full-time again? If so, WWE is the right choice in my opinion. I think with him returning to WWE, they are likely to give him a little more time in the main event scene upon his return and I think it's possible he would get a run at either the WWE or the WHC title (depending on the brand) even if only for a short while.
Now if he just wants to make a little extra money but continue working on other major projects, he should go with TNA. The light touring schedule would be ideal and I think he could still be a top-star there even if he isn't fully-committed (see Lashley and others.) It'll be interesting to see what he decides.

Mick Foley comedy tour? You mean that's NOT what he's been doing in TNA lately? Or is that just the Mick Foley depression tour?
Posted By: BigTrev (Guest) on October 07, 2009 at 01:30 AM
RVD should go to Smackdown and feud with Punk, for obvious reasons.
Posted By: Jeff Harvey (Guest) on October 07, 2009 at 01:44 AM
TNA as it would fit his in ring style perfectly, he could be a big surprise at Bound For Glory, because of the lighter schedule he could be with his wife more and do his side projects plus TNA has a lighter policy on soft drugs if any. Plus I don't buy the reject theory in most cases (,Jethro excluded,) and he would be a permanent main event player and unlike some he has a dedicated fan following which would make him have a direct impact.

RVD should go to RAW. Injury revenge and atleast this way there is a ndew contender for the title

Nope, you do. Making cameos where you still get made to look great is not a comeback. It just means your are showing respect to the company that made you famous. Rock is done with wrestling, and is still getting mainstream recognition. Austin is a little more shaky, but I'd still put him in the success category, because he makes millions off of residuals and is getting movie offers. They might not be great roles, but he is getting them.
The line that confuses me a bit is the one about the divas. Outside of Trish, who is still a pretty big celebrity, who else is there? Chyna is a joke, Lita was humiliated and is pretty much a nobody now, and Sable is now just known as Mrs.Brock Lesnar. Maybe he means Stacy, but I always looked at her more as a model that happened to be in WWE, than an actual performer. I guess she counts though.

He should come to my house, and help me get rid of some of this stuff.

Wow, an hour of Mick shooting on Vince, talking about his favorite theme parks, and making Al Snow jokes. Sign me up. I wonder if some of his recent TNA matches are part of the routine.
I heard the reaction to his test run in LA was not too good. I think he picked a really bad time to do it. Why waste his time being there for Summerslam, which drew horribly, when he could have been in town when the much more popular Summerfest was taking place?

One time I was supposed to set Percy Pringle's face on fire, but would you believe it I couldn't get my flash paper lit.
*Pause for laughter*

No one should ever goto TNA unless they like being buried for free. Better to be buried for good money.
Posted By: Banz (Guest) on October 07, 2009 at 07:09 AM
If Wikipedia is to be believed then RVD is almost 39 years old.
He's also been having the same boring match for 15 years.
Hypothetically RVD should stay retired.

You know Mick if you just want to bury Al Snow,Test and the Mean Street Posse,take credit for Sting,HHH and the Rocks careers and do what it is you usually do a comedy tour might not be the right forum. Especially since you were upstaged by Colt Cabana the last time your show went down like a lead balloon.

Hypothetically, I think RVD just created a new goddamn 411 meme.

You do know that Austin left wrestling because he could no longer handle the toll on his body, righ?

he should go to jeff hardy's house and help him smoke the evidence
