Jerry Lawler To Announce Smackdown On Friday
Posted by Larry Csonka on 10.19.2009
JR and the King, back together again…
Last week, Jim Ross announced that Todd Grisham recently got married and would miss the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday. Jerry Lawler announced on Raw that he would appear on Smackdown to announce the show with Jim Ross.
Kind of a shame, I really wanted to see them give the JR/Matt Striker duo a chance.

I'd rather listen to commentary from Todd Pentengill.

Hopefully, this is a test to figure out how to get Michael Cole off of Raw (and hopefully out of WWE altogether).
C'mon Vince: give the people one fucking thing that they want!

It always amuses me how people with not as much talent in the wrestling industry are always assumed to be a homosexual.
The IWC: Homophobia at it's finest!

They just like to hire announcers that act a little gay. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I really miss heel Lawler. Just another good thing about the attitude era...

Talent has nothing to do with the fact that they all look like gigantic fabulous homosexuals. Do you even watch WWE?

Lawler sucks these days on commentary, but Grisham is the worst commentator in WWE right now, so anything not to hear him.

Sean Penn was Todd's maid of honour apparently.

Hmmm. I thought that, on Smackdown, Grisham was now the main story teller / colour guy and Ross did play by play.
Let last week, they had Cole / Grisham together (two storytellers) and this week they've got Lawler and Ross (two play by play guys)?

Actually Josh Matthew is married to Rue DiBona who is quite lovely and an albeit breif former WWE interviewer.

Wrong! Grisham is bad but still better than Cole with far less experience. You can also tell Grisham actually enjoys this industry and doesn't just do the job because Vince has some unexplained hard-on for him.
Grisham's only embarrassing moment came when he got rattled by TNA backers during Byte This years ago. Cole's track record of embarrassing, douchechilling moments is a mile long!
