Posted by Larry Csonka on 10.21.2009

- Jim Ross is said to be doing better today since suffering his 3rd Bell's Palsy attack. He saw a neurologist today, but as of now, there is no timetable for his return. [Credit: WrestlingObserver.com]

- Edge was on Bubba the Love Sponge yesterday, noting that his current Achilles tendon injury was the worst of his career. He couldn't give a return date, but did note his contract is up in June of 2010 and talked about buying a house in the Carolinas. [Credit: WrestlingObserver.com]

- Speaking of Edge, he will be appearing along with the Bella Twins tomorrow in Las Vegas at the NACS trade show for Slim Jim. [Credit: WrestlingObserver.com]

- On the Batista DVD, which was released yesterday, they edited out the Chris Benoit elimination from the 2005 Royal Rumble. [Credit: WrestlingObserver.com]

The way things are going in WWE, I sort of expect Edge to no resign. What else is there for him to do? Win a few more useless world titles, that's about it.

Get well soon JR!

Well I'm sure not many people remember Benoit was one of the guys eliminated near the end of that one

just one more reason to look "elsewhere" for WWE video. ridiculous editing

More double standard from the WWE, They allow the crossface made famous by Benoit. Yet edit him out again.

contract talk? does that mean Edge may walk away? Please say it isn't so...that would be a huge loss

"On the Batista DVD, which was released yesterday, they edited out the Chris Benoit elimination from the 2005 Royal Rumble."

One of the big reasons people pirate WWE stuff.

I think Edge loves the business a little too much to just walk away. He does have the option and he's definitely done it all, but the lure of the spotlight may be too much to resist. He'll be back, maybe not soon, but sometime, maybe for one last run as a face. He's earned it.

Edge will try and come back, but he's earned enough money that he doesn't have to. The severity of the injury is really telling. This is a guy that had his neck fused, but yet this latest injury is giving him more problems. Think about that one for a minute. If he does come back, it will be as a face, but I kind of hope he leaves while he's still young and not totally broken down. If he does resign, I hope it's a short term contract, like a year or two at the most.

"I think you know me"

I WILL resign and I WILL rule the WWE once and for all.

Thanks guys, this is a difficult injury but you never know.

Thank you WWE!"

Thank you? A national corporation releases something that's supposed to be a snapshot of history, an exact moment in time.. and they steal part of it from you.. and your response is "Thank You?". Very strange.

That's like if you bought your favorite soft drink and they'd removed all the sugar, then you thanked them for it. After all, sugar killed WAY more people than Chris Benoit, right?

Not excusing Benoit.. but I wish WWE would stop stealing from it's paying customers, especially on Classics on Demand. I pay to watch history, not get a recap of the things that people think I should see.....

Personally I just wish they would show old WWF footage with the massive amount of blurring they do because of that whole trademark case. Makes my eyes water. Surely they could do a deal.

As for editing out of Benoit, I'm not surprised and I don't care. They aren't pretending he never existed anymore but they aren't going to show you any footage of him if they can help it.

Posted By: Fenris (Guest)  on October 22, 2009 at 03:29 AM

What was it Vince said? "We can't promote Benoit, but we can't ignore him either." Well, once again he's totally contradicted himself.

actually edge's contract will not expire in jume 2010 because when a talent is injured, wwe has the right to tack on the injured time onto the contract so if edge is out 8 months, wwe can add and pay him for an additional 8 months under the terms of his contract.

in the same interview, hew said that wwe is the nfl of pro wrestling so don't get your hopes up tna fan boys of seeing edge in your impact zone amusement park soundstage.

They remove a ten second clip from a five year old match and now they are "stealing" from their customers? Benoit was an asshole and a murderer, he absolutely should be removed.

So if, according to the DVD, Benoit was not eliminated from the Rumble... does that mean he technically won? :P

Yeah really. It was 4 LONG years ago!
Nobody would EVER remember that!!

(Yes, that should be read in a "sarcastic" tone)

Douche.

If you are such a "paying customer", why didn't you PAY for the 2005 Royal Rumble DVD??

I own it, along with about 200 or so more DVDs that are not "edited" due to the fact I bought them WHEN THEY CAME OUT!

If you loved that match so much, then go and buy the thing on DVD! You know they have a thing called ebay and the 2005 Royal Rumble goes for about 8 bucks..........

After Randy Orton beats John Cena at Bragging Rights (sending him to Smackdown most likely). Edge will return to challenge Orton. BANK ON IT!!!

I want to write WWE and tell them they lost a longtime female fan because of the Benoit shit. I've read 411 more than I've watched WWE in years.

Typical internet bitch, so desperate to attack somebody that you've rushed in and not even read his statement correctly.
Want to try again? Got your glasses on?
He said "especially on Classics on Demand". He is not arguing his case specifically for the Rumble, he is talking about the countless hours that he PAID FOR IN ADVANCE when he took out the agreement and then lost the option to view.

Unfortunately Edge will come back as he has two Ex-wifes to pay for. They will shove the titles right up his overrated ass....yawn!
