Lance Cade Returns To WWE
Posted by Larry Csonka on 10.22.2009

According to Pwinsider.com, WWE signed Lance Cade to a new deal last week, and he has reported to Florida Championship Wrestling. Cade previously worked for WWE from 2001 through 2008. Cade, a trainee of Shawn Michaels and Rudy Boy Gonzalez, had a good run with Trevor Murdoch and won the WWE World Tag Team Titles. Before he was released, Cade worked as Chris Jericho's second during Jericho's feud with Shawn Michaels.

Cade was released in October of 2008 when he had a seizure on a flight that required emergency treatment. There was a belief in the company that Cade took something that he shouldn't have been taking, and that is what caused the seizure. While he has been gone from WWE, Cade has worked for the NWA promotion as well as in Japan.

LMAO. Is he coming back to become Jericho bodyguard again?

Oh my gawd! Oh my gawd! Oh my gawd!

Had a feeling he'd be back soon enough. They still got big plans for the kid. Would not be surprised to see him get a decent sized push right away.

Bring back Trevor!

It's good to see Lance (don't call him Garrison) Cade getting a second chance with the WWE. I've always felt that Cade possessed all the necessary tools to be a serious player. Hopefully he can capitalize on this opportunity and takes his game to the next level to become a major star in the not to distant future.

Sounds good. Cade is pretty talented. I'd like to see him have a solid program with HBK. He's a far better rehire than Masters.

Jericho and Cade vs. Edge and Trevor Murdoch at Wrestlemania.

Wait he was released for having a seizure on a plane?

Does this mean Jack Swagger will have to give his entrance music back to Lance Cade?

this is why I do not watch wwe

hes going to ecw

Posted By: Guest#4720 (Guest)  on October 23, 2009 at 12:08 AM

Bet he and Danielson feud...two HBK trainees who will get a moderate push off HBK's name...and then have to use those skills the showstoppa taught them to keep the crowd into their matches. They have the talent that's for sure...

team up cade and danielson, let hbk be their mentor

Ah, that's why shane left.

I saw Trevor Murdoch at Harley Race's World League Wrestling in West Plains, MO this past weekend playing 2nd fiddle to the Honky Tonk Man.

Posted By: Guest#3005 (Guest)  on October 23, 2009 at 12:21 AM

Cool. He's pretty good, but I don't want to see him be Jericho's bodyguard again. Put him in a match or two against Christian in ECW. That will do him wonders.

"Wait he was released for having a seizure on a plane?"

Did you even bother to read the rest of the paragraph?

Very overrated by WWE and IWC. Moves very awkwardly in the ring with NO fluidity. Trevor Murdoch is the better of the 2 where is his rehire though?

"this is why I do not watch wwe"

Because they hire wrestlers?

Bummer news

Posted By: Alcoholic (Guest)  on October 23, 2009 at 12:54 AM

I think Trevor is a little too busy right now. He just bought one of the busiest bars here in Eldon and is really trying to get it reopened. Yes, that is a plug for T. Murdoch's Bar and Grill, opening soon.
Plus, with B.J. Race recently passing away, he has to be there for Harley, who really needs someone to lean on right now. Without B.J., a lot of keeping WLW up and running will fall on Trevor.
So, while it would great to see him back, I don't think he's a position to do that just now.

I always thought he and Murdoch would have long stays in WWE. I hope they both get second shots -- these guys need to be scrapping with Cryme Time and Legacy and let each others styles develop so the WWE can have a real tag team division again. I love Jericho but Big Slow is painful and as a team they don't work.

"Because they hire wrestlers?"

Well, male wrestlers.

WOW He has a seizure and gets released. Jeff gets found at bottom of some stairs and he gets an angle made out of it, plus a title run.

him and Danielson are going to tag team I bet

"He has a seizure and gets released. Jeff gets found at bottom of some stairs and he gets an angle made out of it, plus a title run."

yeah because thousands of screaming Lance Cade fans stand in line at the PPV to see him do crazy shit.

One would think a uranage sitdown spinebuster requires less painkillers than let's say, a 20 feet fall from the scaffold.

probably put him and danielson in a heel tag team. That team has potential. If not, I think they just like Lance's look and put him on ECW to feud with whoever the champion is at that point.

Posted By: Guest#9839 (Guest)  on October 23, 2009 at 03:16 AM

trevor murrdoch is in tna so wwe cant resign him!!!!! would be great if he got a good push to maybe us title!

He wasn't released because of the seizure. There was cause to suspect that he'd taken drugs or something essentially being irresponsible.

Jeff Hardy moved merch like very few others. Hell, only Cena and DX could readily and steadily move more. Batista? Rey? Taker? Face Punk, Face Jericho... none were matching it. I remember for a good while, Jeff Hardy or Hardy Boyz merch would be at least 5 of the top 10 sellers.

I'm not saying that's fair either, but it's business.

Awesome news, I like Lance Cade.

He could be the next big thing, no joke. A big, natural heel, that can work.

I saw Cade and Murdoch on the NWA Wrestling Showcase shoving around the Young Bucks. I wonder how old those shows are.

Glad they seized on this opportunity.

Not to mention, to those asking why Trevor Murdoch hasn't been rehired - is everyone forgetting the guy is currently already on the TNA roster competing as Jethro Holliday?! Well, blink during any given month of TNA programming and you'll likely miss him - but he's in there somewhere and does pop up for a minute or two from time to time;) Okay, so it hasn't exactly been stellar - but at least he's not singing anymore!

Posted By: Devin (Guest)  on October 23, 2009 at 09:33 AM

Nobody cares. Lance + Masters = wasted roster spots.

Lance Cade sucks. Bring back Steve Blackman.

Another mid-carder for HHH, Orton, Cena, and HBK to squash......good luck.

Isnt Trevor in TNA as Jethro something, like Jethro America or Jethro Holiday or some shit. I dunno

I smell Bryan Danielson's debut in this news.

Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton vs Ted Dibiase Jr and Lance Cade.

I'm tired of these motherfucking seizures on this motherfucking plane!

"Cade worked as Chris Jericho's second"

Am I the only one who read this thinking of Art Donovan? "Who's this guy? His second? Is he a wrestler, too?"

Posted By: neverAcquiesce (Guest)  on October 23, 2009 at 01:53 PM

Good. I always liked Cade but thought he was pushed terribly. Make him ECW champ!

Posted By: WetOREO (Guest)  on October 23, 2009 at 02:11 PM

Please hire back Murdoch too, he blows in TNA and that's the only wrestling show I watch.

I'm down for a Cade return.

Posted By: ONE MAN B/\\NGER (Guest)  on October 23, 2009 at 05:55 PM

Can't believe they bought him back, solid worker but I seen brick walls with more fuckin charisma than Lance Cade. How can a guy who was trained by one of the best show-men of the last 20 odd years have such piss poor promo skills & near non-exsistant personality ??

Posted By: Guest#6782 (Guest)  on October 23, 2009 at 08:04 PM

I'm so glad lance is back the wwe made the right choice to bring back the best in business lol

Posted By: naomi (Guest)  on October 23, 2009 at 10:09 PM

Oh,joy. Lance is back. This is going to be fun. Let's see where could he go if he is coming back on tv? Smackdown? ECW? or hpw about RAW?

This is going to be bad.

Posted By: MissLindsie (Guest)  on October 23, 2009 at 10:43 PM

He is going to be on RAW and he is going to be shit. Is Trevor Contracted or per appearance. He was the star better wrestler and he had charisma. Remember Lance Cade was the opposition for Lance Storm during the Original Boring segment. Austin "Two guys named Lance wrestling each other boring boring boring. Starts snoozing and snoring on the mic. Yep before Garrison he was BORING.
