ROH News: KENTA’s Replacement, Negotiations With AAA, More
Posted by Larry Csonka on 11.02.2009

From rohwrestling.com:

- With the beginning of November comes big news! Just finalized this morning (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=3061), ROH officials are happy to announce that Katsuhiko Nakajima is returning to ROH competition! With the unfortunate injury to KENTA, ROH officials scrambled to try and find a suitable replacement on incredibly short notice. With the help of colleagues at the Kensuke Office in Japan, we can announce that the former GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion will be on hand in suburban Detroit on November 13th; and on November 14th in suburban Toronto! Tickets for both events are still available at www.rohwrestling.com! Nakajima's opponents will be announced on Wednesday.

- Everyone at Ring of Honor wishes KENTA well in his recovery. We apologize to our fans for this unfortunate circumstance as we adjust lineups, but we pledge that we will still deliver the best professional wrestling for your hard-earned dollar bar none! We hope to see you all in Philadelphia on Thursday and Friday night, and Edison, NJ on Saturday. Tickets and information for all three great events are available now at www.rohwrestling.com!

- Also in light of KENTA's injury, ROH officials were forced to make changes to the upcoming TV tapings and this Saturday's card in Edison, New Jersey. On Saturday in Edison, Roderick Strong will now take on a man that has been on a roll in the last few months, Delirious! Delirious is back after a great showing in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH, and he is eager to show the ROH faithful that he's ready to take that next step. A win over perhaps the MVP of 2009 would go a long way toward proving that! Take a look at http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=3062 for more on this great matchup and check out http://www.rohvideos.com/watch?v=wqMFIp5ClMo for exclusive footage of Delirious in NOAH taking on the legendary Jushin "Thunder" Liger!

- Tonight's episode of "Ring of Honor Wrestling" on HDNet features the final ROH wrestling appearance on television of Nigel McGuinness as he goes one-on-one with Colt Cabana. Other bouts include: The Young Bucks vs. The Briscoes; Alex Payne vs. Rhett Titus; Claudio Castagnoli vs. Grizzly Redwood; plus more. Tune into HDNet tonight starting at 8 PM.

- ROH officials have had increased talks over the last 72 hours with AAA officials. More on this as it becomes available.

- Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana has agreed to be Tyler Black's partner this Friday in Philadelphia against Austin Aries and Kenny King. Cabana has had his share of interaction with Aries' cohorts, and he wasn't about to let Tyler go it alone as he looks for retribution for the hideous fireball that Aries' threw in his face when ROH was last in Philly. "Aries' is in trouble," said Cabana. "He's prepared for KENTA, but all that's out the window. I've got my own issues with him and his cronies, and I'm looking forward to Philly."

- ROH World Champion Austin Aries has informed the ROH Booking Committee that since they have already have him scheduled for more than one title defense in November, he will NOT defend the championship in Edison, NJ this weekend. He instead will team with protégé Rhett Titus in tag team action.

- The Necro Butcher has accepted Prince Nana's challenge for this Saturday in Edison. "I know Nana said he's bringing a monster," said Necro. "And if it's Bison, I'll be ready. I know that sumbitch is tough, but I'll never back down. Whoever Nana brings better be ready to fight like a dog because I will, and I ain't worried because I'll have my back up just in case."

- ROH on HDNet Executive Producer James E. Cornette will be on hand for all of this weekend's festivities. We now have it on good authority that he intends on addressing both the fans AND roster this Thursday night.

- Signed for Ring of Honor's big return to Chicago on December 5th: ROH World Champion Austin Aries, The House of Truth, Kenny Omega, Tyler Black, The Dark City Fight Club, Erick Stevens, Colt Cabana, and Kenny King. We'll have more names as we go, and match announcements starting next week!

Because not having Aries defend the title is the PERFECT way to convince people in Edison to keep on coming.
