Hey, a boxer, it might be good
Posted By: Bill (Guest) on November 02, 2009 at 11:16 PM
Who? This shit needs to stop. So far I have only been familiar with about 1/3 of the hosts. And the only three that have hosted that would still be considered relevant in 2009 is Shaq, Trish, and Ozzy. Rock will be the fourth when he actually does it.
But they need to stop trying to find whatever borderline "celebrities" they can find that will actually agree to promote whatever it is they are looking to plug. Maybe if they didn't have to come up with lame comedy skits for the hosts, WWE could actually focus on trying to make fans care about their wrestlers. But, in all honesty, they stopped doing that a few years ago. I can't really blame the host thing for that.

Well I know absolutely nothing about this guy, but here's hoping he has knowledge of the product.
I agree with the others, either they should only let wrestling talent host or they should just find one GM and be done with it! The only non-wrestling celebs that have stood out positively: Snoop Dogg (not a fan of his, but he knew the product!), Shaq, Bob Barker, and Freddy Prinze Jr. (even though he was barely on the show.) Almost none of these celebrities care or know about the product. They mess up peoples' names, events, keep their appearances to a bare minimum, and just say things positive towards faces/negative to the heels so they'll remain cheered. Honestly, I'd rather have something like the celebrity comes out and say they have no respect towards the WWE and I'm only here for (insert thing.) And because of that, they book things more towards the heels or have them act as tweeners by saying something like "Okay John Cena, I hate you and you don't deserve the title but I like Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, Randy Orton, and Jack Swagger. They each get a shot at you tonight."
Please WWE, make it more interesting or just drop it already!

Love the fact that apparently all the americans don't know the name of the boxer who was one half of the highest drawing boxing ppv card ever.
Posted By: guest (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 04:04 AM
Hatton was awesome in his day, he only lost twice (Mani and Mayweather) but he was the man for a long time.
He's one of the UK's best ever boxers - just because you aint heard of him doesn't mean he isnt any good.
Furthermore, he's from Manchester, England like me!
Posted By: Mikey (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 04:29 AM
as long as they wheel out Blue Moon, let him crack a few gags and maybe add a United jersey or two (Porter's worn one before) for some cheap heat and it'll be decent
Posted By: diz (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 05:10 AM
Presumably everyone who doesn't know who Ricky Hatton is also didn't know who Floyd Mayweather was either...do some research and learn about the best group of boxers for quite a while...Hatton will get a great reaction from the Sheffield crowd...

Honestly, this is the first time I felt the need to pull the "who?" out. So apparently if you're American you're an idiot for not knowing who this is. Here's something to chomp on... this is an AMERICAN company. Now, if I had read that next week's host when Raw is in "x country" is Ricky Hatton, I would have rolled with it. Oh, I also was very negative about those race car guys as well.

Hm, an AMERICAN company having AMERICAN sports figures as hosts? When the UK Wrestling Federation has Ricky Hatman hosting and people say "Who?" then you have a valid point.

He should just be prepared for the , "you got knocked out" jokes.

Do you think WWE gives a rats ass if British people know who Ben Roethlisberger and Joey Logano are?? Their targeting American audiences and they,by and large know who these guys are. Their bringing in Ricky Hatton(who a couple of people in America know) to make ye Douchebags over there happy. So be happy Douchebag. If you don't like WWE go watch some British Wrestling company. Oh. Thought so.
"Let's not be too dismissive of Hatton. He did belt Kostya Tszyu into retirement (that took a large amount of doing).

Kostya Tszyu was 60 when Ricky Hatton knocked him out. Every time he's faced anyone half decent and only slightly older than him as in "Mayweather" and "Pacquaiao" he's got his ass handed back to him.

Bob Barker, WHO ?
Cedric the Entertainer, WHO ?
Rev. Al Sharpton, WHO ?
Ben Roethlisberger, WHO ?
Nancy O'Dell, WHO ?
Kyle Busch, WHO ?
Joey Logano, WHO ?
Ricky Hatton, The Ring magazine's World Light Welterweight Champion, IBO World Light Welterweight Champion, 2x IBF World Light Welterweight Champion, WBA World Light Welterweight Champion, WBA World Welterweight Champion, WBU Light Welterweight Champion, British Light Welterweight Champion, WBO Inter-Continental Light Welterweight Champion, WBA Inter-Continental Light Welterweight Champion and The Ring magazine's 2005 'Fighter of the Year'.
Thats who Ricky Hatton is
Posted By: Guest#6992 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 09:04 AM
Alot of Americans had heard of Kyle Busch that didnt mean we wanted him or really knew him. Nascar sucks. As far as Ben Rothleisberger he is the current 2 TIME 2 TIME Champion of the NFL. Next week's show will be good, because the guest sucks. Hopefully he is better than I think. Last night Ozzy was good and he got the loudest ovation I have seen ANY of the guests get however that did not translate to a good RAW. Also as far as relevancy goes Floyd Mayweather Jr showed just how relevant he was after his guest hosting.
Posted By: Radtke (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 09:28 AM
So Raw next week is this:
1. A host who will somehow mispronounce a wrestler's name
2. DX/Cena vs. Jerishow because the writers can't think of anything else
3. Chavo gets the "boxing" Screwjob by Hornswaggle
4. Orton's Gang vs. Kofi's Gang
5. Miz says something not so funny
6. Sheamus buries someone else
Thank God for Monday Night Football. Steelers at the Broncos looks better and better

Hatton should be a good host, he always seems like a decent guy when he makes media appearences, and I'm pretty sure he's a WWE mark, his nickname is Hitman after all.
Posted By: Valuev (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 12:02 PM
Boxing is dead. No one cares. Maybe if it was Lennox Lewis hosting it would matter.
Posted By: Mr. America (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 12:36 PM
Just know that he will one shot knock out either big show or Jericho sometime during the night. Because that is what they let guys who wiegh 130 lbs do... knock out guys 2 and 3 times their size with one shot.
Posted By: Rich (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 01:17 PM
WWE's audience does not follow boxing, especially the lighter weight classes. I mean c'mon, Vince's fetish for big men is well known. He jobs out every smaller guy and won't give them a serious shot, presumably because the audience doesn't take smaller guys seriously.
So then he turns around and has a smaller boxer host Raw and expects people to know who he is and to respect him? Hatton isn't even that good, and Mayweather is also far from the best. Neither of these guys is the best. Pretty much everyone will tell you Pacquaio is the best right now pound for pound but I bet 90% of those people never even bothered watching him fight. Boxing is just not as popular now as it was before, and the lower weight classes have never been as popular as the heavys.
UFC guests would indeed draw better and would be more interesting. You'll never see that happen of course. Rampage might be a possibility though since he's not currently fighting.
Still, the guest host gimmick is worn out (it got worn out pretty quickly actually) and they have a lot of trouble consistently getting quality guest hosts.
Hatton probably isn't one of those. I don't know what teams are playing on MNF next week, but I'd wager most American sports fans will tune into the NFL game, outside of the west coast which has Raw on a delay.
Posted By: Guest#8202 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 01:41 PM
LMFAO at all the angry comments along the lines of "wwe is American".

I will actually tune into Raw this week strictly because Hatton is hosting.
THERE'S ONLY ONEEEE, RICKY HATTON!!!
Also, don't be surprised when Hatton out-pops everybody on the show. Fool is a god in England.
Posted By: CroCopHeadKick (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 02:06 PM
I knew it was Hatton 2 weeks agao. Love the whole American Debate. I'm English, the motherland. I knew who WhatsitBerger was its only because i really like Gridiron. Lol...I could have called it football. But since you use your hands to throw it and to carry it in your version of football, i wont bother. You see as backwards as we are in "soccer" aka football, we use hmm...our feet. And a round ball, not Oval. You see i think thats why we called it Football. It was around first you see. We kicked the ball with our feet. Then we thought...shall we call it BALLFEET?!! That was a dumb idea so we settled on FootBall. Oh my god. Was that Logical. It's like i love our American cousins, but guys you can be ignorant. That's why many other countries dont like you. You and France. And Israel.Fact nobody likes you.. I do, I like Americans but only cos i learned to appreciate little things. Whether it be your invention of words that don't need inventing. Like we gave you the language and you were like "hold up" you got a 4 letter word.... Lift, screw that man i wanna ride the elevator. I mean, as Sharon said...Really?! Hold up theres more. Pedestrians walk on the pavement. You what?!! Pavement?!! That bit of walky path is next to this here road? Pavement sucks...how about....a SIDEWALK. I think that one is pretty cool but i digress theres so many many more. One of my Favourite words Wanker. You made up the Pg verison Jerkoff. Cunts. Or the fact you all have a right to a gun cos the king of england could come back anytime!! Lol, Guns fucking kill people.
You see I had to sit through Al Sharpton. The man is a biggot. That was painful. I sat through Bob Barker...i knew who he was. The Price is wrong BITCH!! I only knew him because of Happy Gilmore, otherwise no clue. It's like me asking you who Bruce Forsyth is. We all knew who the Osbournes were and are. There English. You all know who Simon Cowell is, or probs Peers Morgan(Prick). You could have got David Beckham, he has the personality of a fish tho. So theres not many Brits who you guys will go "I know him!" So Hatton is not the worst choice. It was gonna be him or Joe Calsage. They supposidly broke America. I probs would have had Lennox Lewis u know him yeah? Maybe after David Haye beats a guy twice his size on saturday, you would know who he is. But Ricky Hatton has done stand up Comedy so it should be a fun one. And out of a lot of our celebs it could be worse. If we had chosen one of our famous football players or comedians you would have had no clue who Rio Ferdinand is or Frankie Boyle or someone like that. You probs should know who Hatton is. Anyways Cant wait till the E are back in the states so we can see the host we all want to see. DAVID FUCKING ARQUETTE. ARQUETTE vs CENA BOOK IT!!!!

Trish was the worst host. Really? I agree the opening promo she did was bad, but she wasn't helped by a dead crowd. The backstage stuff with Jericho was good, and the tag match was the most entertaining match involving divas in a long time. It wasn't great, but it was fun. The last fun match with divas before that? When she teamed with Cena last December. She still has that spark that is totally missing in today's divas. Oh yeah, and with the brunette hair and yoga body, she is now one of the most gorgeous women on the planet. Keep your overrated Stacy Keibler's and Torrie Wilson's of the world, Trish pwns them all.
She's not relevant. Let's see. She runs her own succesful business. She is still featured regularly on magazine covers. She makes tons of TV appearances. She hosted her own travel show last year. And she's getting her own damn game for the Wii. Yeah, really sounds like she faded into obscurity. I guess because she lives in Canada, you want to act like none of that happened. Like her or not, she's one of only three former wrestlers from the modern era to find success in the real world, the other two being Rock and Brock.

Awwwww, what's a matter?
Pissed off that an AMERICAN company who caters to AMERICAN fans on AMERICAN television has AMERICAN celebrities on their show??
Face facts rest of the world, WWE may have shows in other countries and may tour those countries every once in a while but when it comes right down to it, the fans that they are gonna cater to the MOST are AMERICAN!
We spend the most money on their products, our ratings are the only ones WWE cares about, and our country is the one where most of the events are held.
Sorry to burst your bubble rest of the world, but WWE will continue to cater to AMERICAN fans for the REST OF THE COMPANY'S LIFE!!!

A few people here will have egg on their face when someone they've never heard of does an awesome job guest hosting. Hatton has a sharp sense of humour, is a WWE fan, lifted his nickname from Bret Hart (ok and Thomas Hearns) and had Batista and the Undertaker at a training camp a few years ago. I can't see him talking about Kofi Johnston or Evan Braun.

Doesn't really fucking matter which of you marks know who he is. You can think you're badass and "Who?" all you want because the fact of the matter is that Hatton has drawn more buys and made more money than anyone on the E's roster.
But then again he was knocked into another dimension in his last fight so... I guess that evens out.
