What Former WWE Star Showed Up At The Impact Tapings Tonight? (SPOILERS)
Posted by Larry Csonka on 11.03.2009
You’ll never guess who…
Jim Neidhart worked the TNA Impact taping tonight, the show will air on November 12th. Neidhart was brought in to face Jay Lethal, who is starting an angle where he faces off with various legends of wrestling. The angle was set in motion before Hulk Hogan signed with the company. Other "legendary" names will be coming in as well to participate in the angle.

Good god, I hope this angle culminates with him facing off against "Macho Man" Randy Savage!!!
Posted By: Adam! (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:12 PM
Didnt Chris Jericho just do this angle only with real wrestling legends?
Next on Jay Lethels hit list - Chyna!

Keep an eye out for me appearing. I'm gonna take out Lethal. Then Foley, Then Sting. Then Hogan.
I'm bigger than all of them dammit.
Posted By: Paul Roma (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:16 PM
I would think The Anvil would go to WWE since his daughter and the Hart Dynasty are on SmackDown, but no, he's gotta drink the Hogan kool-aid
Posted By: Bill (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:17 PM
Hogan vs Lethal?
Posted By: circh (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:19 PM
Um.... Cool?
Posted By: Brad (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:20 PM
I guess Ed Leslie or either one of the Nasty Boys would have been too obvious a choice.
Posted By: MydniteSon (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:20 PM
Next will be Brutus and then will be Nasty Boyz.....I don't buy into the report that Hogan had nothing to do with this. The retirement home is going to be filled soon, and they call it the iMPACT Zone.

Jay Lethal vs THE Original Macho Man Randy Savage...
Posted By: Horhay (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:22 PM
Awesome. Like the 'who' joke as well.
Posted By: Bimmy (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:23 PM
Damn that hogan for ruining TNA!
And don't confuse me with any of your "facts" or "logic"!
It's all his fault!!!
Posted By: Spaz Monkey (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:25 PM
Bring in Jake the Snake!!! and other legends and eventually bring back the real Macho Man.
Posted By: RedVexx (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:25 PM
Jay Lethal...Legend Killer.
Posted By: Guest#8060 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:26 PM
There is only ONE true Legend Killer!
Randy Orton!
Posted By: Guest#2870 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:28 PM
Screw Orton
Lethal is the real Legend Killer
Posted By: random (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:34 PM
TNA=WCW
Posted By: Miz fan (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:34 PM
"You'll never guess who" was right on the money, since nobody remember Jim Neidhart.
Posted By: poffo316 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:35 PM
I would have said Hogan
Posted By: Captain Obvious (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:36 PM
Wow, the joke actually paid off this time. Everytime I read "you'll never guess who", I always think "what's Jim Neidhart got to do with this?" I guess he's sort of a legend. Pretty much on the level of an Arn Anderson; part of a great team and stable, but never could stand on his own. How nuclear would Vince become if Neidhart brought the other half of the Hart Foundation with him? Poor Natalya will probaly be used even less now because of this.
Posted By: Guest#8559 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:37 PM
The Legend Killer Jay Lethal!!!
Posted By: Guest#4771 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:44 PM
Thunder in Paradise... mess with him is like rolling the dice...
Posted By: Guest#8289 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:44 PM
"Legend Killer" Randy Orton > "Legend Killer" Jay Lethal
Posted By: Guest#6487 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:44 PM
Meh
Posted By: Guest#3194 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:45 PM
It would be awesome if Neidhart came back to the WWE as the manager for the Hart Dynasty, although it won't happen because the E never uses male managers anymore.
Posted By: Essa Rios (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:51 PM
and the obvious pay off to this would have to be no doubt randy savage...
Posted By: randomness (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:51 PM
this is going to end up with him faceing macho man to see who got the best ring clothes lol
Posted By: danny (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:51 PM
Jim Neidhart in TNA! I hope this makes the Hart Dynasty jump to TNA.
Posted By: Cesarmania (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:52 PM
Jay Lethal needs to stop ripping other people's gimmick? First Savage and now Randy Orton?
TNA has no shame.

Posted By: Lou Albano (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:58 PM
Yawn, typical Russo angle, seen it all before. For god's sake, once Hogan's decimated Lethal just drop the stupid Macho man gimmick, it really sucks.
Posted By: Dr Snooze (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:59 PM
You know Ed Leslie is dialing his phone like crazy right now.
Posted By: Trashy (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:02 PM
Lol I thought u said star?
Posted By: lame (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:02 PM
Shouldn't the word "who" have a capital W?
Neidhart did briefly play a masked guy named Who.
Posted By: Guest#0802 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:02 PM
boy i tell ya if TNA ever does 1 fuckin thing on their own rather then copying off WWE's past Storylines ill go into SHOCK for a fuckin week...this is exactly what Randy Orton started & did 6yrs old...this is 1 on the main reasons exactly why i hate TNA & why they suck ass...cuz all they fuckin do is rip off WWE..jay lethal goes from ripping off 1 of the best of all time Macho Man Randy Savage to now Ripping off Randy Orton??? gimme a fuckin break..invent ur own shit already..im suprised they havent ripped off ROH yet..which im sure they will cuz they know WWE & ROH are way batter then they ever would be

It begins...

BTW, who won?
Posted By: Guest#5104 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:16 PM
Actually this could be pretty great.
Posted By: Big Lantern Ghost (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:16 PM
Other legendary names: Paul Roma, Jim Powers, Ron Bass, Boris Zhukov, Marty Jannetty and Bastion Booger.
Posted By: Guest#1821 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:21 PM
Oh like when Randy Orton did the whole Legend angle. Gotcha.
Posted By: Guest#5410 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:26 PM
but does he win
Posted By: Guest#2536 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:34 PM
Lethal vs. Hogan?
Win or lose, that could be a really good situation.
First and foremost, Hogan goes nowhere near the TNA World Championship, so the mix of AJ, Angle, Wolfe, JOE and Morgan on top is unaffected and given the chance to define the top of the product.
Secondly, it gives "BM" Jay Lethal a chance to shine, in a program that's going to get a lot of attention. Seeing Lethal pick up a string of "flukey" wins against names like "The Anvil", "Boogie Woogie Man", Beefcake, and whoever else they can dig up, strung out over a long time, could be pretty fun.
Finally, a Hogan vs. Lethal program, the eventual blowoff, could be hilarious. Hogan's strong point has always been his promos and the character that he was able to develop, rather than his actual ringwork, and Lethal has shown that, given the chance, he can be pretty entertaining on the mic himself, in addition to being one of TNA's safest guys to work with. Play the feud for laughs, similar to the Rock vs. The Hurricane feud of a couple years ago, and it could even draw pretty well for TNA. Hogan gets his firs feud out of the way without having to eat a pin, and he gives Lethal a bit of a rub.

Liberal usage of the word star.
Posted By: Guest#5391 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:38 PM
Legend killer - - rip off
Posted By: Q (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:43 PM
Never guess "who"...lol. That was clever.
Posted By: MissyNEVERWearsSocksWithShoes (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:55 PM
Lethal beats all until he faces Hogan and falls victim to the leg drop.
Posted By: The Informer (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:56 PM
I love the use of quotes around the word legendary.
Posted By: Wvugame (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:57 PM
They've called me in too, I'm going to shock Kurt Angle in the balls!
Posted By: The Mountie (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 08:58 PM
If this all leads to just a Randy Savage promo where he endorses Lethal, it will be the greatest thing TNA has ever done.
Posted By: Jason S (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 09:00 PM
I would think The Anvil would go to WWE since his daughter and the Hart Dynasty are on SmackDown, but no, he's gotta drink the Hogan kool-aid
Posted By: Bill (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:17 PM
Neidhart was probably just happy someone offered him work.
Posted By: subtlefuge (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 09:05 PM
This will all lead up to Black Machismo vs. Hulk Hogan: The Megapowers Re-Explode!
Posted By: y2kev (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 09:28 PM
if this means this culminates with Lethal fighting the MACHO MAN, then it will be worth it. i highly doubt beating various b-list 'legends' counts as 'legend killing'
Posted By: Shio (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 09:57 PM
hahahahaha pathetic

Rob Conway, the real Legend Killer!
Posted By: The Informer (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 10:37 PM
News Flash!: Randy Orton, Legend Killer wasn't an original gimmick then either.
Stupid etards.
Posted By: elgrannoche (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 10:58 PM
Sorry TNA. WWE have already done that with Chris Jericho and Randy Orton.
Posted By: Guest#6206 (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 11:04 PM
Actually, didn't they have Rob Conway do the whole "Legend Killer" thing before Randy Orton?
I don't know why they are doing this, it's pointless and a waste of time for someone as talented as Lethal.
Hey, TNA I have an angle idea for Lethal: how about putting him into the tag team title mix along with Creed? Gee what a concept!
Posted By: Orlando (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 11:09 PM
Good god, I hope this angle culminates with him facing off against "Macho Man" Randy Savage!!!
Posted By: Adam! (Guest) on November 03, 2009 at 07:12 PM
Forget bringing in Macho Man, bring in the real talent in the family, Leaping Lenny Poffo!!!

everyone, everyone, everyone.....think about it.....what "legends" to this day can actually move besides the obvious, name 10.
Posted By: rez_perez (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 01:32 AM
If only SD Jones could have lived to see this day!
Posted By: Brawler (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 02:10 AM
This is great! They could bring in legends who we haven't seen for years, like Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner, Sting, Mick Foley...
Oh wait...
Posted By: Guy (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 02:57 AM
And the TNA Haters come out...original angle, definately not, but it's something...and for all those who quote Randy Orton as being the first, as much as a great character he's become, trace his angle back to Jericho doing it, and you can look back as far as Ric Flair taking the "Nature Boy" name from Buddy Rogers back in the day. Sad to see how short the fans's memories are today...
Posted By: Guest#9440 (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 03:36 AM
To all who think Orton had the gimmick first: two words for ya...
KID KASH !
He ran this angle on the TNA weekly ppvs before Orton, Conway or Jericho.
20 years before that Larry Zbysko ran the angle in AWA and NWA. It's not something Vince thought up.
Posted By: RDR (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 04:21 AM
Would Randy Savage work in TNA if Hogan was there too? I thought Savage hated Hogan. I mean, I suppose if the money was right Savage would do it, but I was under the impression that Savage hated Hogan just as much as Warrior does.
Posted By: Zingy (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 08:07 AM
What a great opportunity for Hogan to bring in some of his old pals.
Posted By: Barry B. (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 08:33 AM
Shouldn't Flair be the real Legend Killer?
Since he is crapping on his own legend?
Posted By: Guest#6258 (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 10:10 AM
Devil's Advocate time: why does it have to be a "legend killer" angle? Lethal's a face, right? So why can't it be more like a respect thing, to wrestle against legends of the industry, to say "I wrestled against this guy", like wrestling his heroes?
Whereas Orton/Jericho was all about arrogant young upstarts out to destroy legends, this could be about a super-fan fulfilling his life's ambition, and wrestling with the guys he grew up watching on TV.
No need for hate or anger, it could just be a heartwarming little angle that ends with the most heartwarming of all: his idol, Macho Man.
Just saying, it's possibly (though sadly unlikely) that although similar to the Legend Killer gimmick, it doesn't mean it has to be a direct retread.

Posted By: demOcratic (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 10:42 AM
well, at least they are ripping off Jerhico/Orton now. that puts their audacity in the 21st century at least.
Posted By: Darth Mortis (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 12:02 PM
'If this all leads to just a Randy Savage promo where he endorses Lethal, it will be the greatest thing TNA has ever done.'
yea...love how the 'alternative to WWE' is so inspiring that the ONLY thing people can think of when they think TNA are members of the Grey Power Brigade.
what happened to 'give us the new, fresh YOUNG talent' cries, or have the TNAndroids just given up and are now worshiping the turn of TNA into WCW2k9?
it is a terrible shame that so many staunch supporters of TNA have just given up the plot and are now officially hoping for the best of the worst since they now realise they will never get the best.
Posted By: Darth Mortis (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 12:10 PM
was the legend killer Larry Zybysko upset with Randy Orton's gimmick? is he going to be mad at this? No, I don't think so. gimmicks are recycled all of the time, people.
Posted By: Doug (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 12:24 PM
Well, TNA is stuck in a bind here - if they have someone go over the older guys, they're just ripping off Randy Orton, if they have nobody go over the older guys, they're just ripping off WCW. At least they aren't bringing back the core of an ancient stable and pretending they're still relevant today
Posted By: diz (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 12:36 PM
Totally original idea!
Posted By: Not. (Guest) on November 04, 2009 at 01:59 PM
