Various News: Piper/RAW, Hogan Keeps Promoting TNA, GLAAD vs. Jericho
Posted by Ashish on 11.05.2009
More Thursday news...
- Roddy Piper is expected to be the RAW guest host for the 11/16 RAW at Madison Square Garden in New York.
- Hulk Hogan did media today in LA. He mentioned that he was going to TNA on Good Day L.A.
- GLAAD is not happy about the slurs Chris Jericho used in a story we reported on earlier and called Jericho's apology "insincere." Here is what they said:
"Just three months ago, Chris Jericho's boss and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon acknowledged to GLAAD that words matter. There is no time, context or occasion in which it is acceptable to utter racist and anti-gay slurs. Jericho's hollow apology `if offended anyone' is a template used by many and is insincere and worn."
It's worn? So he has to come up with some new sort of apology? Get the Eff over it. Jericho's words didn't damage anyone.
Yes words can sometimes be painfull but Jericho was using it in silly banter, some people need to grow some thicker skin.

The only reason Piper got the gig is because I turned them down.

Oh noez!
Chris Jericho said the word fag!
A word that has transitioned from a non-insult, to an insult, and now in his day is a new insult!
Oh my!

Jericho just hates those Harley riding fags like the rest of the world. Why bother him aboot it?

It was me GLAAD!! It was me all along!!

What I dont understand is that when you call a gay person GAy they get mad, but yet they are gay and proud?
If it offends you, then something is wrong with YOU.
not the other way around.

I saw the clip of Y2J going on and he seemed fairly rocked. Jericho is great! He is the new Piper.

Oh gawwwwwwwwwwwwwwd, really now GLAAD have to get involved?! Honestly who are these people? Do they wield any political power or influence? Seriously, picking out a video on TMZ which is ONLINE and not actually on TV. They must have said lives.
I doubt gay people want a group like this taking up for them. GLAAD are just there to make issues out of non-issues. It's basically how black people don't Al Sharpton to stand up for them, in his patronizing manner.

Fags doesn't mean gay, it means you are a Harley rider. Get with the times GLAAD...
Posted By: D. (Guest) on November 05, 2009 at 07:36 PM
Yea b/c crying will make them less fagish
Posted By: kingave66 (Guest) on November 05, 2009 at 07:42 PM
but its cool for South Park to say "fag" and "fagot" like a thousand times last night, right?
way to be selective in who you go after, there, GLAAD!

Hey GLAAD.......WwwwwwwwAaaaaaaa!
Posted By: hateman (Guest) on November 05, 2009 at 07:51 PM
Could be worse, remember when the undertaker used to ride in on his Harley, he was such a fag.
Posted By: Guest#5458 (Guest) on November 05, 2009 at 08:05 PM
Best thing for Jericho to do would be to keep his mouth shut and let this blow over. Someone else will say something to get these Harley riders riled up and they will forget about Chris.

Dear GLAAD,
Nobody gives a shit how you feel.

could've been worse...could've said fudgepacker

Shouldn't the ACLU be defending Jericho's right to free speech?
Posted By: Guest#6662 (Guest) on November 05, 2009 at 10:02 PM
What Jericho said was offensive...but not indented to be homophobic or anything. He was up on stage joking around with some guys, the way mates do. I've joked that some of my friends were gay, without meaning to be anti-gay. Really, GLAAD has some bigger things to worry about when it comes to homophobia in America

He was talking to me about cigarettes. Case closed.

This world is getting sensitive

Jericho rules, and he should be allowed to say anything he wants, he's done more in a week than the average jerk at "GLADD" will do in their lifetimes

His rights have not been infringed upon so no, maybe you are right wing and thought you were being insulting. I cant help but laugh at these internet tough guys saying fag on the internet, say prejudice shit in real life and get your greasy face slapped. It's not about free speech you silly geeks, it is about class and respect, you will not ever give or receive it. Stay in your parents house please, you are not needed in real life. Jericho is a main character on a kid friendly TV show, he should watch his mouth, it's called professionalism!

GLADD just jumps on anything to get some press. People need to lighten up. Live your life and do not worry about what people say.

Political correctness, much like censorship, is for cunts, by cunts.
Posted By: Some Random Dude (Guest) on November 06, 2009 at 07:34 AM
GLAAD wants their gravy bowl back from Vince...they were burned by the whole Billy and Chuck wedding. And they looked so fabulous too...
Seriously, the fuckers just want some money. Any perceived slight by someone who can afford it is latched onto immediately - eg, Jay and Silent Bob, Kevin Smith had to send them a sizeable "donation" after they made a stink aout one of the characters saying 'That's so gay'. - fucking money hungry fags.
Probably need some new shoes or cravats or something.
Posted By: dennett316 (Guest) on November 06, 2009 at 08:02 AM
insincere and worn? does that mean that Jericho has to make brand new words for the offended to not be offended by an apology? Y2J has done that before, assclowns!
honestly, One man's "insincere and worn" is another man's "relaxed, cool and classic."
Ahhhhhh......tolerance, forcing us to make apologies to assholes.
Posted By: educated savage (Guest) on November 06, 2009 at 08:45 AM
Jericho Should be ashamed of himself for making fun of those fags.

"It's not about free speech you silly geeks, it is about class and respect, you will not ever give or receive it."
BULLSEYE. I don't care how good of a wrestler he is (and the reaction to this strikes me as very similar to Benoit, but I'm not opening that one up again), there's certain shit you just don't say in public. Especially when your JOB is to be a public figure.
Tell you what, all of you try and say "fag" at your jobs and see if you're still employ--oh wait. You all need jobs first...
Like it or not, this is not going away anytime soon.

Sometimes I wonder how states like Maine can decide, by popular vote, that it is best to limits someone else's rights for no reason other than the fact that you don't like their lifestyle.
Then I read comments like these and I see where this intolerance comes from.

This is a prime example of how various groups of people love to exploit others. Jericho apologized for what he said, and they respond by basically saying "it wasn't good enough". It IS good enough! An apology is an apology. What, do you want money from him? Do you want some of his stuff?
Greedy bastards, all of them.
Posted By: ZeroVX (Guest) on November 06, 2009 at 11:42 AM
I figured they'd jump on him over it.
While I feel "fag" is not only an offensive slur and an outdated insult, people need to chill out. It was a joke. Most of the time it's not even meant to demean sexuality.
My problem with GLAAD is they're over-sensitive and only want positive potrayals of gays and lesbians. It's an odd double standard: they want more representation of homosexuals and whatnot in media but it's only slightly negative and doesn't potray them in a perfect light they get all antsy.
Posted By: lilwayne1 (Guest) on November 06, 2009 at 12:21 PM
CLEARLY he didn't mean the "gay" fag, but rather, the "loud, obnoxious" fag, like on south park.
duh!

Someone should tell GLAAD that Y2J was on his own time and not working for the WWE when he said FAG.
