And the return of the Slammys!
According to WWE.com, comedian and radio talk show host Dennis Miller will serve as the host of the 2009 Slammy Awards during a special three-hour presentation of Monday Night Raw on Dec. 14 from the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

How much will Miller have to dumb himself down to host Raw? Many of his jokes go over the head of intelligent people. Do you think wrestling fans are going to understand him?

sweet, he should be very interesting

Clever.

Epic Right Wing Conspiracy!

Millers' comedy is going to go over the heads of most wrestling fans because they're so fucking stupid they actually watch wrestling. I'll stick with UFC, you bunch of fucking retards.

Oh thank God. I have tickets for the Hershey show and it was stated he was going to guest host it. I am praying for Bret or Rock for sweeps week.

This guy's a douche but he'll be a great host. I hope he's a heel.

Hooray for Slammys!
Boo for Dennis Miller. He's one of those guys who used to be funny, got too full of himself and is now just an irritating prick.
It should be funny to see a thesaurus battle between him and Jericho, though.

Cue the European fans complaining about another American hosting RAW instead of some no-name English guy......
Posted By: Where ya at Europe? (Guest) on November 06, 2009 at 12:43 PM
Wow, too bad they couldn't have gotten him back when he was still funny. Only missed that bus by about 15 years

I wonder if there is going to be a Best Host award?
Posted By: wrestling manic (Guest) on November 06, 2009 at 12:52 PM
Well, that's just great. Just what the WWE needed: more comedy. Jesus H. Christ. Why in the fuck does everything have to be funny?! Can you believe they're trying to sell the Cena-DX tussle at Survivor Series with their lame-ass brand of humor?! No wonder PPV buyrates are in the toilet. Remember when Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant did that really funny backstage sketch together before Wrestle Mania III? No?! Well, that's because IT DIDN'T FUCKING HAPPEN!! And yet, miraculously, the event still made mad gobs of money, even without no shitty second-rate Hollywood scriptwriters in sight! How DID they pull that off??????????

So, Jericho and Miller will end up having a conversation that no one else will understand?
Posted By: Katoot (Guest) on November 06, 2009 at 01:41 PM
I think Jericho will join the late great Owen Hart in being a 2 time Slammy award winner

That's EXACTLY why I'd tune in. Some people - such as myself - enjoy laughing at the 95% of people who aren't getting the joke. Then that 95% enjoys laughing at people like myself, Jericho and Miller for how far up our own asses in pretension we are. It's fun all around!

I'm with Ash on this. I'm excited for this show and it's smart to get a guy like him to be hosting the award show.

Yeah, because UFC fans are known to be such renowned scholars, dude I know you were trolling but that was just pathetic.

I'm boycotting RAW on December 14th then. Nah, just kidding. Don't agree with Miller politically, but the guy is clever.

kind of hard to be serious when the show pretty much revolves around 2 guys playfighting in their underpants...

happy birthday to me!

It is in Texas .
DX Will sweep the Slammys .

I'm sick of people saying Miller is so clever, he implants big words into simple, wornout jokes. Give me an original, clever and well thought out joke about cat shit over "his halcyon demeanor makes Noam Chomsky look like Huey Long"

"kind of hard to be serious when the show pretty much revolves around 2 guys playfighting in their underpants..."
Dude. Did you watch any wrestling whatsoever during the 80s and 90s?! If not, let me clue you in on a little something: It was a hell of a lot better back then, and part of the reason why was because any two guys who were supposed to be engaged in a blood feud weren't ever shown hangin' out in the dressing room shootin' the shit. Trust me, it worked.

Who??

3 hour RAW? Never seen that before
Posted By: Guest#6842 (Guest) on November 07, 2009 at 12:55 PM
Early notice: Arizona vs. San Francisco on MNF that night, for those of us who can't stand Dennis Miller...
Posted By: idiot savant (Guest) on November 07, 2009 at 02:13 PM
I would prefer Raw be hosted by the greatest weekend update anchor of all time... Kevin Nealon. He could even do his Mr. Subliminal character, "Tonight's show is going to be fantastic." (Total garbage.)
