Various News: TNA Talent Meeting From Impact, More Coverage Of WWE Financials, Vince On ESPN, More

More Friday news…
- The TNA talent meeting, held by Dixie Carter at the start of Impact was a legit talent meeting held by Carter at the tapings. The comments were not scripted, and were totally Carter's feelings. Carter was addressing changes in the company, as the recent changes have led to frustrations among the talent. Some feel that this was Carter's way of putting out fires. It was used on TV as a way to build the Hulk Hogan angle. [Credit: Pwinsider.com]
- TampaBay.com has an article up on Jimmy Hart, who is supporting former wrestler B. Brian Blair's opponent in the 2010 Republican primary for Florida's District 47 state House seat. You can read the full article here.
- During the Virginia Tech vs. East Carolina college football game on ESPN, Vince McMahon was shown as an alumni of ECU.
- WWE.com has added a profile for new ring announcer Lauren Mayhew. You can check her profile out here.
- Variety discusses the WWE 3rd quarter financials at this link.
I really liked the insider perspective of seeing that meeting but I just felt like it is alot of lip service... she can say that this is their chance to move up and they have to do it know but we still have so much crap on Impact that pretty much any smarky IWC'er would be able to throw away immediatly if they were given the book. Get rid of Deaner, Dr. Stevie (character only) and the rest of the junk that is still on their broadcasts and replace it with good stuff like Wolf versus Angle and that will really prove you are making a change...

Dixie: But Hulk I don't like guns!?!

Big mistake. Hopefully they can do something to reverse it back to a kayfabe angle. Everyone knows wrestling is fake, but they surely don't want to see it displayed out in the open like that. because then people will have ot think how dumb do they think we are? They show us everything and now expect us to fall back into believng some of the stupid angles they push on us?

I wonder if Iron Sheik will run attack ads against Brian Blair?

This is why TNA is the number 1 wrestling promotion. Because they have a REAL leader in Dixie Carter. With her leadership and the Hulk Hogan at the helm, TNA will be the number 1 wrestling company in the world.
So, to all the TNA haters who want to compare TNA to WCW...Please!
The real comparison to wcw is the current WWE product with the son in law, Triple H, hogging up all the TV time and main event matches because he thinks it's still cool to be 40 years old doing a crotch shop...that's so 1999!
TNA = WWE 1998
WWE = WCW 2000

They always show Vince in those ECU commercials.
I think he is probably the most famous person that EVER went there.
I don't think a lot of people outside of the Carolinas look to ECU as their college of choice.

I really doubt that.

Elvy, I hate to break it to you but Dixie Carter is nothing more than a ring rat (a woman who is attracted to wrestlers) that happens to be rich enough to indulge herself. She knows NOTHING about the wrestling business, as evidenced by her many mistakes.
We can levy criticism against McMahon all we want, and lord knows he deserves 99.9% of it, but even with his horrible product he still draws more people than TNA ever will.

Ugh...I was really hoping that speech was worked, because she sounded like fucking Fidel Castro. It basically amounted to "support TNA's direction completely and without question or opinion of your own, or get out," which is pretty much why Cornette left.

dixie carter is a clueless idiot when it comes to the wrestling business.
the opnly reason she is president is because her daddy bought tna for 250,000 in 2003 and gave it to her as a toy to play with.
hogan is a 56 year old has been who is years past his prime.
tna signing hasbeen hogan is like the yankees hiring reggie jackson to play for the yankees in 2010.
wwe has a REAL leader in vincent mcmahon, the man who CREATED hogan, hulkamania, etc. back in 1984 when it was relevant.

WWE may be WCWesque at this point, but in no way, shape, or form is TNA equivalent to 1998 WWF.

Its funny how TNA started out with the imagination that they were a competitor to WWE. And now they have ended up as trying to overcome the WCW comparison.

In other words... If you are a truly good performer, who busts his or her ass, and are not willing to job to that old scumbag piece of shit, and sell the "hulk up finger wag of death" please leave the company.

It dont really matter how they feel in most cases.
Half those guys can leave and as long as their not in the uppercard,fans wont care too much.
I doubt TNA will release many of them,only guys they dont need.
Theyll just be replaces by the next ROH guy or Japanese guy(or girl) doesnt make a damn difference.
