After Dixie's speech to open the show, the next quarter hour shot DOWN.

I guess killing kayfabe turned people off right off the bat.

"Is TNA still riding the momentum of the Hulk Hogan announcement?"

Nope.

its because of the world series....oh wait, no. It was because of that 5 star college football game.. prolly not. Hold on, spurs/jazz?????

The REAL effect of the Hogan era won't start until he debuts and if you read the posts you would know that they are waiting to debut him AFTER football season to make a bigger impact.
And for what it's worth, that is the BEST plan they could have. They are actually building interest and when the debut happens, judge the ratings on the two weeks FOLLOWING that.

they need to put hogan on their tv show sharpish, and stop him going to other peoples shows talking about how he's with the company. i'm bored to tears of hearing about him being everywhere but where he's now contractually obliged to be.

Wow and people looked at me funny when I downplayed the impact of Hogan. There's your evidence.

no Hulk Hogan = - 0.2 rating? time to bring in Warrior Warrior.

Phew, I was worried for a little bit there.

Posted By: Vince McMahon (Guest)  on November 06, 2009 at 06:45 PM

all things considered, that is a bad rating.

Well yeah...wrestling is something no one in the mainstream cares about anymore. There are remnants of a golden age like Hogan but that's all the non-smark fans want to hang onto because back when it was popular it was more interesting too.

There's just NOTHING, WWE or TNA, that is interesting in any way, shape or form. Read a book and have a glass of wine with it.

Don't believe the (TNA-Hogan) hype!!!!

He hasn't shown up yet so of course it'll be down, the .2 that were there before only showed up to watch the press conference

the only reason tna beats superstars is because tna is available in 30 million more homes .

big deal, tna beat wwe's ecw c show by a 01. i guess dixie will bring out the wine and donuts over that monumental accomplishment.

Dixie Carter is sure making a difference within TNA.

There's nothing wrong with her statement, but action speaks louder sometimes. I am sure everyone at TNA tries hard to make the difference, but I am sure she made her statement for a very good reason.

I have never known any other organization that has stepped up in front of the public eye like Dixie Carter has.

That's why I know that TNA is bigger than anyone else although they have not been around for so long.

Great speech Dixie. You made the "difference" as I can plainly see and hear. Keep doing what you are doing. She is a very good business woman.

I already know fans from all around the globe realize where TNA is headed.

There's just so much negativity from other fans that I just read on the internet and I do dislike those comments because they are shameful and unprofessional.

I don't know about any other fan, but "TNA has got my vote".

So they're doing a "Blood Runs Cold"/Glacier build...

I understand a build, but If they do 3 months of they type of stuff they did last night by the time he shows up no one will care.

I really want TNA to succeed, but they're not going to by taking all these shortcuts by buying top stars for temporary rating boosts. They won't boost ratings either if they stuck with young stars and 5 star matches.

They simply need to spend more time, money and creativity on marketing. Paranormal Activity has shown that with the right marketing campaign, you can make more money than a big budget movie with top stars.

TNA doesn't need excuses why the ratings are down. They was down, end of story. This isn't a RAW post where excuses are always added to give an excuse why the ratings are down.

All these people who make fun of TNA aren't true wrestling fans. They think WWE's product is so much better and would rather see DX vs Legacy, Cena vs Orton, and Chavo vs Hornswoggle every fuckin' week instead. TNA has the better wrestlers but the storylines suck right now. Everybody will be riding the TNA bandwagon once Hogan gets things going there. It happened with the old ECW, everyone talked shit about the bingo hall company until they became mainstream. True wrestling fans should be happy that we have WWE, TNA, and ROH to watch every week. These people who talk shit are waiting for The Rock to come back. Those are casual fans who watch wrestling when its the cool thing to do.

When, if ever, Hogan comes out in a TNA episode, WWE should make Cena come out in ECW and see who gets the higher ratings.

Posted By: guesthehe (Guest)  on November 07, 2009 at 01:29 AM

I nearly stopped watching Impact becasue all they did was talk about Hulk fucking Hogan over everything else. I wouldn't have been suprised if they talked about Hulk Hogan during the build up angle of the Joe-Daniels-AJ three way.

Um, I would have to say that as far as surprises go, this ranks up there with Angle debuting in TNA, Hall walking out on Nitro, and that time when I was a teen in the 80's and finally learned wrestling was scripted.
It has been a HUGE surprise and I can understand them not wanting to just send Hogan out on an episode that just the regular fans would be watching.
This way, they can announce when Hogan will appear in the Impact Zone and maybe even have it be on a special "live" impact so as to avoid all the spoilers.

The REAL effect of the Hogan era won't start until we somehow make it 1990 again.

WOW... 1.1??!! Is that an all-time high for TNA iMPACT?

Posted By: MMMBop (Guest)  on November 08, 2009 at 05:34 PM

Wrestling fans are idiots. TNA has been so good for the past few months. I LOVED this week's show. Just look at how they set up the PPV. It was so good. Raw, with their guest hosts is almost unwatchable, but the morons in the WWE Universe eat it up. They are clueless.

"TNA has been so good for the past few months"

Then how come nobody watches it?

Posted By: idiot savant (Guest)  on November 08, 2009 at 11:42 PM

When TNA finally starts to advertise better like on USA, the Score (Canada), NBC and all other channel, they will find themselves hopefully at a 2.0 level.
