Non-Title Match: Chris Jericho vs. The Undertaker

Time to build for an awesome feud into WM26 where Undertaker lose the belt to Jericho and then retire.

Undertaker is going to sacrafice the streak to a guy under 6ft tall, who practically loses every single week. Keep dreaming Jerichoholic.

Why waste a big fued like that on free tv? It should be on a ppv...

Posted By: Paul (Guest)  on November 06, 2009 at 10:14 PM

Both matches should be awesome

What the hell -- I thought they should've saved Jericho vs. Taker for Mania. Then when it was going to happen at Survivor Series, I thought fine, it's still a PPV.

Now they're throwing it away on Smackdown?? These two have never EVER faced each others, single, tag team, never as far as I know. That's so rare to be in WWE that long and not meet, I think they could've really told a story with it. But instead, it seems the writers weren't even aware of this!

i don't think it's the 1st time they've faced each other, Taker and Jericho. One on one, yes, but they have been in a few tag matches against each other.

still though, next week in the UK should be incredible for the WWE, with two possible title changes in store. Here's hoping Ziggler and Regal come out victorious.

WWE THROWS MONEY AWAY!

Jericho/Undertaker first time ever gets relegated to free TV.

Cena/Batista headlines last year's SummerSlam.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

This could be Ziggler's moment to win the belt. Lord knows he's had enough shots at it.

Posted By: Dwayne (Guest)  on November 06, 2009 at 10:43 PM

Undertaker and Jericho have had interactions before. They were both on Team WWF at Survivor Series 2001. And I found one match where they were opponents but not singles or tag team...it was a fatal four way or four corners or something. i found this by typing "undertaker chris jericho" on youtube >__>

Posted By: Phil (Guest)  on November 06, 2009 at 10:55 PM

Do you guys really think wwe with give this match on Free TV come on. Have you just watched wwe? The match starts, 2 punches, big show interfeares, they beat down the undertaker to close the show.

Posted By: ECWteam (Guest)  on November 06, 2009 at 10:55 PM

If there wasn't proof before that WWE doesn't know WTF its doing, giving away an unbuilt Jericho/UT first time ever match on free TV should solidify it.

What is this, WCW 1998?

zigg needs to win

Guy its gonna be CENAvsTAKER at MANIA

Non-Title Match: Chris Jericho vs. The Undertaker

Nice way to throw away potential money WWE.

Posted By: Guest#8994 (Guest)  on November 06, 2009 at 11:45 PM

it would be Jericho vs Edge at mania in harcore match. and Cena vs Taker. Cena wont win but he will leave the match as a heel and get BOOOOOOD out of mania (BANK ON IT)

Posted By: die4kidz (Guest)  on November 06, 2009 at 11:46 PM

I believe Jericho's last dream program that is possible to have is with Undertaker.

Posted By: Guest#7960 (Guest)  on November 06, 2009 at 11:51 PM

to those complaining about Y2J vs UT for free...

would you idiots rather pay $40? if so, you're all morons...unless you work for &/or have stock in WWE, your couch-potato wrestling-biz savy asses should stroke your IWC boner over this match-- FREE of charge!

Posted By: BlueOyster (Guest)  on November 06, 2009 at 11:55 PM

Hope there is no.....DUSTY FINISH!!!!

Posted By: Jack Piesit (Guest)  on November 07, 2009 at 12:04 AM

Yeah, Jericho/Taker will not be a full match - if it's a match at all...remember old Undertaker needs a walking stick at the moment, which they edit-out during promos...

Posted By: Guest#1819 (Guest)  on November 07, 2009 at 01:22 AM

Yeah I can't see Taker vs. Jericho being a full match. Too much potential of SD's main event at TLC is there. If it is a full match, I'll be glad to have it for free (though for the WWE's sake, it wouldn't be wise.)

As for the IC match, here's hoping Dolph gets his day! He's been working hard, I think he deserves the title. Morrison doesn't really need it, I think he should just continue in his quest towards the main event scene.

That's a bit bizarre, they've been heavily promoting a Punk/Taker Casket match for this on UK TV, including taped promos specifically for the match. Strange to change their mind so close to the date. Actually it's WWE, so not at all strange.

Posted By: Guest#7624 (Guest)  on November 07, 2009 at 04:43 AM

Considering Taker vs Jericho is in the UK next week, and they're using the three tv shows to tape a DVD for the UK, I'm pretty sure it will be something resembling a full match

Posted By: Paul (Guest)  on November 07, 2009 at 05:48 AM

You would think everyone would learn something from the Hogan Goldberg fiasco but evidently not. This is probably one of the only if not the only feuds in WWE that hasn't been done yet. The rest of the interesting ones have already been done to death with very few exceptions.

Why the hell would Taker lose his streak to Jericho? It doesn't make any sense.

I really wonder sometimes how retarded most of the posters at 411 are. I mean really, some of these comments are just dumb. They aren't giving away sh*t, and Taker won't be losing to Jericho, loosing the title and retiring at the next mania, that has so many shades of idiotic it's unbelievable.

Fortunately a few people here have realized this won't be a proper match and that it's just build up for Survivors. Well done. It's sad that you've had to spell it out to the dumb asses, but there you go.

On a side note, yeah it is odd they've never had an aired one on one. Perhaps it does show the future direction of the title scene. Not a bad direction, though I feel sorry for CM Punk. I really hope he gets to captain an Series team, though who against I have no idea. It bugs me that they haven't made any real build up for a genuine (non-diva waste of time) SD survivors match.

maybe the little trolls should be happy that they get to see this instead of crapping all over it like a toilet. Seriously, you could have said the same for the styles vs. angle match on impact which was a great match and i had no problem. Maybe this will be really short but at least dont ruin it for the people looking forward to it you smarked out freaks

Posted By: ljdsmalls (Guest)  on November 07, 2009 at 08:44 AM

I agree...Taker/Jericho shouldn't, and probably won't, happen...at least not in any sort of entirety. It's too big a match to be seen for the first time outside of PPV (one of the few WWE has left). I don't necessarily think it'll be at Wrestlemania, but it won't be next week. Expect some sort of Big Show interference.

WWE knows they have to save the best matches for the big cities. Sheffield deserves Y2J Vs Taker!

Posted By: ManUp (Guest)  on November 07, 2009 at 11:03 AM

Damnit. This means that Taker and Y2J won't be facing off at Wrestlemania. I was really hoping for that.

Ladies and Gentlemen, THIS is why McMahonagement is continuosly LOSING MONEY on potential PPV BUYS and even WRESTLEMANIA BUYS.

Chris Jericho VS The Undertaker, one on one, one fall to the finish, FIRST TIME EVER.

Is it a WrestleMania "Streak Threatening Match", as it DESERVES to be? NOPE.

Is it a secondary Main Event at Summerslam, Survivor Series, or Royal Rumble, where it could still draw in some buys from people on the fence about ordering the show? NOT REALLY, considering The Big Show is also in that Triple Threat Match at Survivor Series.

Heck, is it even a Main Event Title Match at a Secondary PPV that could REALLY use a big boost in Buy Rate? NOPE.

Chris Jericho VS The Undertaker, FIRST TIME EVER, one of the TRUE "big money" matches McMahonagement has left, GIVEN AWAY ON FREE TV next week on SmackDown! And even better, it's on MYNETWORK TV, a crappy, almost defunct station many people CAN'T EVEN GET!

Seriously, whoever booked this match as a build-up to Survivor Series should be FIRED ON THE SPOT. This short sighted booking decision WILL end up costing McMahonagement BIG MONEY down the road simply because they can NO LONGER promote a pontential PPV match between Jericho and The Undertaker as "the first time ever".

Even if Jericho is the big threat to Taker's WrestleMania Streak at WrestleMania, GIVING AWAY a 1 on 1 encounter between them beforehand will devalue the match ever so slightly and COST the WWE some PPV buys and DVD sales in the long run. After all, if SOMEONE shells out $55+ for a PPV and thinks it ABSOLUTELY SUCKS (read: most of WrestleMania 25), they WILL NOT BUY the DVD later on when it comes out, or even 5 years down the road as a "collector's item".

Taker vs Jericho won't even start.
DX will run out to get payback on JeriShow.
Each tag team will interfere in the triple threat matches at Survivor Series.
Then, it's DX vs JeriShow at TLC.

Posted By: Guest#3827 (Guest)  on November 07, 2009 at 02:17 PM

You guys do realise this is taking part in the UK right?
There is about a 1/1000 chance that we will get a really long and detailed match between the two (think Cena Michaels in the UK last year). The other 999 times this match will finish in about 8-10 minutes with a DQ run in or something else and will allow them to build to a better match on a PPV.

I see Punk somehow getting involved in the IC match - maybe Scott Armstrong will be the ref - to cost Morrison the title setting-up Survivor Series teams (Morrison v Punk)...Ziggler goes on to fued with Hardy for a bit...although the way things are going Punk could well be jobbing to Jimmy Wang Yang in two weeks time...

Wow, you should be running your own company, show Vince how to make money instead of just scraping by!

Go get 'em, you genius, you!

You guys really think the Jericho-Taker match is going to be ANYTHING other than a DQ or a match that never starts? They want to get you excited for the match, not give it out like Halloween candy.

That being said, it's pretty damn crazy that this match has never happened before. Just when I thought WWE had run out of new combinations and had blown every potential proverbial load, they surprise me. I would say hats off to you, WWE, but I bet you anything it was coincidence and not epic amounts of planning and patience.
