Jim Ross Blogs On Warrior In The WWE HOF, Hulk Hogan’s DVD, Kurt Angle’s Legal Troubles, More
Posted by Larry Csonka on 11.11.2009

- Jim Ross has a new blog up, here are the highlights….

On Jericho vs. Taker: I'm told that the Undertaker-Jericho main event on Friday Night Smackdown, starring Todd Grisham and Matt Striker, is a dandy. Can't wait to catch it on TV Friday night or over the weekend on DVR.

On Warrior In The Hall Of Fame: The WWE Hall of Fame class for 2010 seems to be garnering more interest as our email flow gets stronger. Lots of speculation that the "Ultimate Warrior" will be inducted this year. I have no clue but the fact that "Warrior" lives in Phoenix, the site of WM26, being a significant reason as to why makes zero sense to me. Either the man deserves to be introduced or he doesn't no matter his zip code. I personally feel the former Blade Runner is deserving and just because the guy is considered "controversial" should not exclude him from any accolade. Warrior's accomplishments and contributions to the business are what counts and hearing Warrior's acceptance speech live and in person would be classic and likely a "Wrestlemania Moment."

On The Hulk Hogan DVD: The WWE Hulk Hogan DVD has some great, old bouts on it including some taped matches from live events that really put in some time. I love the atmosphere of the darkened arena and the focus being on the ring and the performers in the ring and not on fans looking to get their 15 minutes or seconds of fame especially those that would rather watch the 'tron instead of the ring. I know, I'm old school......so what? If you like old school wrestling and seeing some of the business' biggest names from back in the day I think that you will enjoy this DVD. It isn't a "tell all" type DVD but is heavy on classic wrestling bouts from a variety of arenas and TV shoots. Old schoolers might really get a kick out of JR and The King reuniting for some of these bouts that we narrate as opposed to doing "live commentary." King even reveals how Hulk invented a back shaving device that Jerry began utilizing himself. Seeing Hulk with the late, WWE HOF'er Classy Freddie Blassie was a hoot. I never realized Hogan was as hairy as George "The Animal Steele at one point in Hulk's career.

On Kurt Angle's Legal Issues: I'm happy to see that former WWE Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle's legal sagas have ended at least for the time being. I hate to read about anyone that I know having personal issues that are embellished and broadcast throughout the media. I've said it many times, "wrestling romances" rarely work over the long haul and those that do are simply meant to be and are the exception to the rule. Those involved in the one's that l do last are blessed individuals who are able to avoid the egocentric and paranoid fueled pitfalls that plague other couples who are usually in lust and not in love. I hope that Kurt can happily move on in his life in a healthy way.

I believe the correct term would be staring Jericho and Taker

I strongly doubt that the Ultimate Warrior will be inducted into the HOF this year simply because all of the animosity that exists between the Ultimate Warrior and WWE. Who's to say that the Warrior would even accept WWE's offer to induct him in the Hall of Fame? I would hope however that someday he is inducted into the HOF, because however weird we might find him, we can't deny that the guy is a legend in the WWE who deserves to be recognized as one of the top stars of the mid 80s and 90s. I would hope that however much people might dislike the Ultimate Warrior that they would at least have enough class and respect for the man to not deny him from taking his rightful place in WWE history. I personally am not a fan of the Ultimate Warrior, but do I think he deserves to be inducted? Absolutely. How can you have a Hall of Fame and not induct someone who had so much impact on the WWE? As far as a HOF induction is concerned, if I were the WWE I would wait a couple of year's to induct the Warrior into the HOF to quell all this bad blood that currently exists between the WWE and the Warrior.

My thoughts exactly! If I could change ONE thing about the product, I would turn off the fuckin house lights!

Maybe that's Jericho's planned new gimmick to debut on Friday, he just stares at people.

Warrior definitely deserves to be in the 2010 Hall of Fame regardless of the past. I'd say this even if it wasn't in his home town. The man made more than a significant impact on the wrestling industry...in fact more so than just about anyone on the roster during his various tenures. Also, in my opinion, every single former WWF/E Heavyweight Champion who had a fairly lasting reign should be there. Many folks are just butt-hurt that the guy always walked away on HIS terms. Had he done business McMahon's way, this wouldn't even be an issue.

Vince you induct the Warrior and I will buy my first PPV since WrestleMania X8.

Any chance he can squash your son in-law again?

I'm not quite sure a racist-tinged rant against the President, replete with various homophobic insults, is *quite* the 'Wrestlemania moment' WWE will be looking for.

Warrior's a douche; who gives a shit if he's inducted into this arbitrary concept anyway? 'Oh noes, the guy that used to shake the ropes and run around in a steroid-incuced rage - not called Batista - isn't going to be waving like a moron on stage during the Wrestlemania XXVI piss-break!'

WWE would sooner present a career-spanning tribute to Chris Benoit as one of the WM DVD extras than have this certified-idiot expose even further how fucked up wrestling was back in the 80's and 90's.

I hope.

If Warrior is inducted he will come out wearing a robe with a hood over his head, like a Jedi robe so you can't see his face. His acceptance speech will seem to start out nicely with some kind of short motivational type speech. He will then lift the hood from his head to reveal the Warrior face paint, then throw the robe off completely and start in with something like one of his snarling, yelling, growling promos/tirades against Vince McMahon, WWE, and the Iron Sheik.

I haven't heard much from the Ultimate Nutjob as of late, but trust me - he might be ultra-conservative in his talk - but he's always tried to be "peaceful" about it. Well, in comparison to what I watched on the History Channel today that disturbed the ever living s*** out of me.

I'm no fan of the Warrior, especially for his wrestling - but if either party actually agreed on working together to allow us to see Warrior Warrior Warrior Warrior Warrior (too many Warriors?) on a WWE telecast would be funny s***.

Trust me. Not happening. And not because of WWE either. Warrior hates Vince with a passion. I know Hogan in 2005 came to terms with Vince, as did Bret Hart in 2006 for his HOF, plus Bret actually agreed to cut a promo on Vince in 2007 before the Limo explosion. I think Rhodes, Flair, and Austin were on good terms at the time of their inductions - Rhodes is a road agent, Flair was working for the E for about five years at that point, and Austin was a WWE legend of the Attitude era.

Really outside of Warrior, who else can even fit the concept anymore? Almost time to pull the plug on the HOF concept again . . .

But I doubt Warrior is doing it, unless they pay him a s***load of cash.

I say induct Warrior. When I hear "Ultimate Warrior" I think of the guy running down the aisle wearing face-paint & arm tassles and would kick some ass, get beat on for a bit, and then come back and kick some more ass to get the win. Like it or not, Warrior was big news back then--maybe not as charismatic as Hogan or as good in the ring as Svage--but he was still big.

This paranoid, racist, delusional asshole that Warrior has become can go fuck himself, however.
