The Rock Could Host RAW In January
Posted by Ashish on 11.19.2009
Finally?
- While out promoting Planet 51, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson mentioned how he still has a great relationship with Vince McMahon and how he'd like to return to RAW soon. Apparently the tentative plan is to have Rock guest host an episode of RAW in January.
Wow, 100 bucks says Cena will be the first to greet him.

I doubt it. It could happen, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

He should do the Raw the day after the Rumble. Kick off the Road to Wrestlemania.
Posted By: JasonP (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 08:10 PM
FINALLY a reason to watch Raw again!
Posted By: Guest#1182 (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 08:23 PM
Can you smell what the rock is cooking for January?

Sigh.... Awesome!!... SIgh...
Posted By: Ja (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 08:37 PM
January... January... isn't that when they start really building up for WrestleMania? LET THE RUMORS COMMENCE!!
Posted By: Brett (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 08:41 PM
Have him host the Raw after the Royal Rumble and start the Road to Wrestlemania!
The possibilities are endless!
Posted By: Guest#8193 (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 08:43 PM
He'll need to promote the terrible movie that he made for Disney.
Posted By: WetOREO (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 08:43 PM
The Rock is smart, he knows that the wwe is going PG, and if you look at his upcoming movie the Tooth Fairy, its well what do you know it, PG. There's a built in audience of fans who now have children that they can take to see his movie. Its free promotion for his movie, basically doing the exact same thing every other guest host has done
Posted By: Joe (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 08:54 PM
Please plant the seeds for Rock v. Cena! One more Wrestlemania Dwayne...please?

is this a one shot deal?
Posted By: please god please (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 09:05 PM
4.3 rating, count it
Posted By: FC (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 09:14 PM
i bet the ratings will skyrocket to 3.8 or maybe even a 3.9
Posted By: perry (the blacko rican) (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 09:19 PM
wwe will use dwayne as a host in jamuary likely when spike presents a special monday night ufc show.
wwe can have a 3 hour raw in january and have rock as the host because it will deter tna if they get a stupid idea of running a monday show when has been hogan shows up in the stupid 1,000 seat impact zone to flex his massive ego and his steroid made 56 year old physique.
Posted By: Guest#6896 (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 09:19 PM
Win!!
Posted By: dogpound7382 (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 09:22 PM
If so, it's going to be epic.
Posted By: Crippen (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 09:30 PM
You heard it here first: The Rock hosting RAW in January will be the start of a program that will culminate in The Rock wresting "One Last Match" at WrestleMania.
Posted By: Guest#4616 (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 09:35 PM
why not just have him be the full time guest host of raw....
Posted By: Guest#9133 (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 09:48 PM
Same old shit
Posted By: Guest#6732 (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 09:49 PM
Im hosting Raw in March along with Herc
Posted By: Paul Roma (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 09:54 PM
As exciting as it would be for The Rock to guest host, it might not be a smart move. WWE could set him up. If Cena gets in his face and challenges him to a WM match, suddenly he's on the spot and might come off looking bad when he can't accept.
Posted By: RDog (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 09:57 PM
im as excited as anyone else that was in high school during the rocks goldne years but really, you all need too stop jerking off everytime he's mentioned. rocky hosting raw will NOT fix a single thing wrong with raw, nor make the show inheritnyl worth tuning into more or less than any other week

-drool-
Posted By: Bill (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 10:12 PM
there had better be a Rock/Cena confrontation when he guest hosts. Everyone wants to see that! Hell, even a jaded fan like me would mark like hell to see it.
Posted By: IWC Member #900001 (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 10:18 PM
To quote Jeff Hardy, "PRAISE THE LORD!"
Posted By: Guest#2882 (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 10:30 PM
That could be a ratings booster. At the very least, a Cena/Rock confrontation would be gold as Rock would wipe the floor with his imitator in a mic duel.
Posted By: Michael L (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 10:30 PM
I don't see a Wrestlemania match happening because of this. He would have to show up every week for at least a month to build it up, and that ain't happening. But if he ever did fight Cena, he better win. I don't care about the other guys Cena has jobbed out at Wrestlemania(HHH, HBK), because I don't give a shit about them. But it would be a fucking disgrace to the Rock character to job to that wigger.
Speaking of HHH, you know he's going to be crying the night Rock shows up. He'll see what a REAL legend of the Attitude Era looks like, and be exposed as the fraud he is. Should be great!!!
Posted By: Guest#5945 (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 10:37 PM
I think The Rock owes it to himself and to WWE to have one more match and leave the right way. Nobody remembers his last match at WM 2004. Either way I'll respect his decision if he hosts Raw in January. He's that damn good that I'd watch everything involving him and nothing else.
Posted By: Propagandhi (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 10:46 PM
I would love it so much to see Rock host RAW. So much so, I'd actually watch the show for more than five minutes for the first time in months.
I very much doubt he'll do a match at WM. He'll tease it, but ultimately, I just don't see it happening. It's just hype and promotion for his new PG film.
Posted By: kEkE (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 10:55 PM
Rock's coming back to Raw?
I expect a lot of verbal confrontations, with Cena, Jericho, HHH, and anyone else who has dealt with Rocky before. Not a whole lot of wrestling that night.
Posted By: Guest#6869 (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 11:08 PM
inheritnyl??? wow
Posted By: what? (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 11:26 PM
So he and Cena can have a little banter...meh all it will do is make fanboys hate Cena and worship the Rock whom we won't see again for another couple of years...greeeeat
Posted By: Guest#2755 (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 11:41 PM
to the ignorant a-hole that mentioned hogan being a HAS BEEN.....take a long hard look at the at the has-been that your kissing up too, this fool did everything he could not to acknowledge being a wrestler and know all of a sudden he wants back in......please get real people! mcjackass whether he wants to admit it or not knows hulk is still a draw regard-less of his age or how bad his body is beaten up,and by hulk signing with tna, he needed something to distract viewers from tna so he went begging to the rock asking him to host RAW..... THE ROCK COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE WWE!!!!
Posted By: nikki (Guest) on November 19, 2009 at 11:47 PM
I, honestly, would not mind if The Rock was involved in most of the segments.
Posted By: wrestling maniac (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 12:25 AM
If Rock actually does host I wouldn't mind Raw featuring hardly any wrestling that night because The Rock + mic = awesome. Hopefully DX is broken up by then so they have no way to ruin the show with their horribly shitty "comedy" segments.
And if The Rock does host, it's a safe bet that HHH will bad-mouth him the second he leaves the building. HHH is quite the sack of shit.
Posted By: Zingy (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 12:26 AM
I'll bet Vince moves him to February if The Rock's schedule permits because there will be big ratings and February is a "Sweeps" month.
Posted By: Charlie (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 12:36 AM
Having not watched wrestling in over five years, I'll be sure to tune into this (should it happen).
I'd buy a PPV too and I haven't spent money on wrestling since the RR that Benoit won.
Rock = ratings, if from nothing else than the old fans. As for Cena...I'd much, much rather see Rock/HBK.

"THE TRADER HAS COME BACK...TO RAW!" who cares that's one episode I wont be watching. who wants to see the trader return? no one with half a brain.
Posted By: Guest#3072 (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 03:28 AM
the only reason rock is coming to host is to promote a movie. what a loser. he cant come and make appearances through out the year to show his appreciation to the fans for putting him in movies. what a loser, no wonder all his movies bomb.
Posted By: Truth_b_told (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 03:29 AM

What is this, Montreal? Neither Vince or Cena would do something like that to the Rock. If there is a confrontation, you can rest assured it's all planned.
Posted By: His Bubbliness (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 04:22 AM
It'll rate its head off, then Bruno will come out and say Rock was never a draw.
Posted By: APinOz (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 05:05 AM
Who? I've never heard of this guy. WWE is going to destroy the pure sport of pro wrestling with these no-name celebrities. And I am NOT a TNA saying these things just to cry about WWE on the internet... HONEST!!!
Posted By: NOT a TNA fan, HONEST! (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 05:27 AM
If we have a Rock/Cena moment, there has to be a Rock insult fest and a big Cena rap.
Posted By: The Great Capt. Smooth (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 05:50 AM
the rock the real legend
Posted By: Guest#9257 (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 07:41 AM
He better talk to Jericho about it first..
Posted By: locke (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 08:00 AM
"Not a whole lot of wrestling that night."
Or in other words, it'll be another typical episode of Raw then?
PASS
Posted By: Guest#2905 (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 08:35 AM
35 comments in and no one has mentioned Rock v HBK, I must be getting old, but I'd have that over Cena.
WM26
Cena v Taker
Rock v HBK
HHH v Batista
Orton v Morrison
Edge v Jericho
supercard!!
Posted By: Guest#1079 (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 09:08 AM
It will be the same old, same old with the Rock, except unlike other uber-icons Hogan and Austin, Rock hasn't been in a WWE ring for 5 years so it will be fresh. It'll be good, but it would be nice if he puts over a new guy instead of promoting the Undertaker like his SD promo.
Posted By: Quimby (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 09:10 AM
People, he isnt going to wrestle again. Why would he? He cant risk any kind of long term injury...Face it, he is done, move on.
Posted By: Jason (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 09:13 AM
to all those who say that Rock owes us one more match, i would sympathize but ultimately disagree. i honestly don't remember much about his last wwe match, other than he lost and put someone else over, as he should have done. what can we expect from one more match? he's got a new career to think about, and i don't think getting pounded in an iron-man match would do anything to advance his new career. and after he's had his last match, how long until the iwc starts crying again about how "he sold out" and he "doesn't appreciate wrestling anymore"? it's a never-ending cycle with him, and i for one don't blame him one bit for trying to break things off cleanly. whether it's a one-shot-deal appearance a the hall of fame, or a guest-hosting gig where he plugs his new movie, i'll take whatever i can get and appreciate it.
Posted By: Guest#0515 (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 09:57 AM
So now he's doing voices in 3rd rate animated movies?
Posted By: Byzdalmyt (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 10:17 AM
Finally The Rock has come back to...W...W...F!
Now where is that roody, poo, candy ass Vanilla-Ice look alike John Cena!
Posted By: Nightz (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 10:39 AM
The good part: the Rock is hosting RAW in january.
The bad part: the guest host crap will continue all the way until january.
Posted By: Jabroni (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 11:02 AM
Wow Nikki you're an Idiot. The Rock agreed to host Monday Night Raw BEFORE Hogan signed with TNA. So check your facts. The Rock hosting wasn't a desperation move because of Hogan. Dumbass.
Posted By: ha ha...not so much (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 12:06 PM
Please let it be Jan. 11 in Minneapolis...cause i've already got tickets and that would make a fun show better!
Posted By: MadLiberator (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 12:11 PM
I like Rock, but this reeks of desperation on his part. For a long time he said "The Rock is Dead", and refused to appear on any WWE programming. Now all of the sudden him and Vince are good pals?
Are you people that gullible? First of all, he's only hosting Raw to promote his shitty "Tooth Fairy" movie. You'll see the ad for that about twenty times during the Raw broadcast. And the only reason he's working with WWE is because he knows he's alienated alot of his wrestling fans. He also knows that his image as a tough guy is dying. This will benefit WWE, but it will benefit him even more. I bet you the ratings for this won't be as high as you think. High 3's maybe, but that's it.
I was never much of a Stone Cold fan, but I have respected his attitude more in recent years. He is much more honest about where he stands. Austin closed the door on wrestling at the HOF. Rock will just keep teasing people until the end of time.
Posted By: Guest#0630 (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 12:18 PM
Dunno which is worse for Dwayne's career: making more Disney movies or taking a step backward to WWE?
Posted By: they are both PG (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 01:59 PM
"THE TRADER HAS COME BACK...TO RAW!" who cares that's one episode I wont be watching. who wants to see the trader return? no one with half a brain."
Horse trader?
Fur trader?
Old-timey silver and gold trader?
I need to think about this more.
I do think you meant TRAITOR. I also think you're a fucking idiot. With "half a brain." At most.

Just show up already
Posted By: TheR (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 04:50 PM
i bet the ratings will get a pretty good boost.
Posted By: Guest#5954 (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 05:51 PM
like Ashoor if Rock vs Cena happens next April at Mania 26 only one outcome possible : Cena winning super CLEAN against Rocky....
Anyone thinking Vince will allow a retire performer to get a clean win over his super massive beloved Da Champ is totally naive...
So yeah people you want to see Cena winning against an ICON of the Sport :
Pick your poison for Mania 26 Taker vs Cena and Rock vs Cena but there s NO Way Cena would do the job on both of them.
So pray for Taker vs Cena and Rock vs Punk or Orton instead.....
Posted By: To people asking Cena/Rocky (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 06:11 PM

wow! ha-ha not so much your the fucking idiot...... he didn't agreed to host anything stupid ass? he said he would host if he could fit it into his schedule? so you need to get your facts straight fool......admitt it mcjackass did this because he knew hogan would draw ratings for tna, that's why they're waiting to see when hogan debuts so they can have rock appear on raw at the same time.
Posted By: nikki (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 08:12 PM
I will riot if Santino doesn't interact with The Rock in some way.
Posted By: EddieGibson (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 08:20 PM
I love how it says COULD HOST and everyone shits themselves including me wow i havnt watched this horrible soap opra since he left because everybody sucks now except orton but they make him do the saaame things over and over I would definately watch if the rock err excuse the me THE GREAT ONE came back
Posted By: Sgt Mac (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 09:15 PM
just so you all know. it will be dwayne johnson hosting raw, making jokes about "the rock". thats what he has been doing in his taped performances. Stupid smile making fun of himself. Ill watch but i dont know if ill like......much. still cool though.
Posted By: Wrestling yay! (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 09:50 PM
Honestly, get him to interact with legacy(him being 3rd gen and all) and have him as a SUPER bad heel. Team up with orton/bring up more of Rhodes/Dibiase against Cena/other faces.
OR-
have Cena be the SUPER bad ass heel and play the whole Jericho thing onto the crowd. He could mention that *juuuussttt maybe* that he carried the WWE since"'the Rock' left the building"
Posted By: gene (Guest) on November 20, 2009 at 09:53 PM
i can smelllllll that this is what raw needs, The Rock's Cooking.
Posted By: Guest#0649 (Guest) on November 21, 2009 at 08:59 AM
the rock should host the raw before wrestlemania... or should he? i dont know about rock coming back, it would be a refreshing change to the guest host thing,
maybe because i have no clue who the hell all the other hosts have been, exept batista and tyson.
It would be great to see the rock vs. cena, because taker is busy with micheals again, but i REALLY want to see FACE edge vs. Jericho at WRESTLEMANIA 26!
Posted By: jericho117 (Guest) on January 21, 2010 at 01:01 PM
or wait a minute? MICHEALS VS. BRET HART? i just came... i just hope micheals can carry hart long enough because hart hasnt wrestled in a while and could risk injury
