You should just stop posting Impact ratings until it changes. i.e. "IMPACT did NOT do a 1.1"

You know, I consider myself more of a WWE fan, have been since I was a kid in the mid-80's, but I do enjoy what TNA does as well. My problem with the critique of the ratings TNA gets (and also WWE) is that folks never seem to get that anything over a 1 on cable is VERY good.

Christ, I remember when the NHL existed, they would draw ratings barely reaching a 1 and that was a major sports league.

Some of you folks don't seem to realize that most cable networks would kill for a show that they can count on to get a 1.1, let alone 3.5's.

Just saying.

'sigh' Maybe TNA should just give up trying to boost their TV ratings and use Impact solely to sell their PPV shows. The PPVs are where the money's at and are usually much better than Impact (i.e. Turning Point).

ECW, on a night with little or no hype from it's parent shows, scores one of the biggest ratings it's had since it's debut with a 1.7.

TNA, with all the Hulk Hogan hype all over the media and the internet, following what some are calling the best PPV of the year? 1.1

Seems about right. Way to blow those millions on Hogan in order to change absolutely nothing about your viewership.

Can I just copy and paste this "LOL" so that it automatically appears each week after TNA's 1.0-1.1 rating is confirmed?

I can't wait to hear the excuses when Hogan does eventually show up and 3 months down the line there's still no significant increase in the ratings or pay per view numbers.

even when hogan shows up, tna will be second rate to wwe.

aside from name value, hogan brings zero to the table now. he is 56 years old and can not even run anymore or do his leg drop without breaking his fake hip and fake knee.

this is like the ny knicks signing a 46 year old michael jordan to play ball.

hogan is not working houseshows and if you job guys like styles, angle to a guy who can hardly move, it will make wrestling seem more like a joke than ever before since the dying days of wcw.

some perspective
ratings this week
TNA v.s Reruns

She's the sheriff 1.9
Small Wonder 1.6
Benson 1.5
Hey Dude 1.3
Becker 1.3
Dear John 1.2
TNA 1.1
Gimme a break 1.0

So TNA cant compete with shows that have not had a new episode in over 20 years.
At least they kicked neil carters ass.

At least John Cena can sell out an arena and WWE doesn't have to give out free tickets to fill their venues (TNA Impact Zone - this means you)! SNAP!

TNA's even admitted they don't make money on PPVs. Their money comes from licensing Impact in new markets, which is why they're putting so much effort into getting onto network in countries overseas.

I'm a fan of wrestling not a network exec so I don't give two poops about ratings. I care about good wresting and TNA has been putting out some quality stuff of late(Turning Point). If all you folks care about is what show gets the highest ratings then you should turn of wrestling and start watching CBS.

Posted By: wrastlin fan (Guest)  on November 21, 2009 at 12:29 AM

honestly when Hogan arrives the ratings will go up and go right back to below average ratings. TNA will never beat WWE. People wouldn't talk about it so much if TNA fans and staff didn't act so delusional.

As a wrestling fan you SHOULD care about ratings. Those network execs are the reason you get to watch your beloved wrestling. Without their support bye bye weekly programing. Do you think consistently drawing in ho-hum ratings will please those execs when they can push their money onto something more profitable?

TNA's always talking about how their audience is continuously growing yet it makes no impact on their ratings. It's pathetic.

Posted By: Guest#0508 (Guest)  on November 21, 2009 at 12:43 AM

I don't give a damn what the ratings are...TNA impact! right now is the only wrestling show I care to watch...the only wrestling program that I don't regularly skim through...the only wrestling program that I follow up with every week...and the only wrestling show that I'm entertained by at this point.

Raw has been such a formulaic drag to watch lately that I really can't bare to watch it most weeks (sans anything to do with Kofi Kingston).

ECW just leaves me with an empty feeling inside knowing that all the effort leads to absolutely nothing. Weak gimmicks and weaker storylines that never end. Call me when Regal finally gets his title shot after weeks of begging for one.

No WGN so I can't watch Superstars unless its on Hulu or Youtube.

SmackDown is the only WWE program worth paying attention to but I still enjoy Impact a little bit more.

ROH is cool, but the timeline baffles me. Next week's show is supposed to be Nigel's last match. The guy's been in TNA for a month and they're still stuck in the summer for Christ's sake.

tna is not on wwe's level and never will be because wwe will CRUSH them in a war.

if tna tries to go on monday nights, usa and wwe will TURN raw into a PERMANENT 3 HOUR LIVE SHOW.

do you think wwe and usa are going to let that cunt come on at 8 pm unchallenged? hell no, wwe and usa will try to drive tna down to a .6 rating and force spike to cancel it due to embarassment.

hogan is a has been and with all the steroids he has taken, you would think a massive heart attack or stroke will hit him and he can go to hell with all the other rasslers who made their fame in a FAKE "sport" by being drug addicts.

Another Failed wwe sheep thinking that wwe is untouchable. You only say bad things about hogan because he didnt go to the wwe. Trust me hogan and bischoff nearly took wwe out of business back in 97 and They could very well do it again. And if you steriotypical smarks want to belive wwe is a super power and cant be takin down then you watch way to much pg wrestling and that you are brainwashed sheep.

Damn man..go get some ass or something and stop getting so upset over something so trivial. Did you REALLY have to call her a "cunt"? lol

I'm a wrestling fan and I like TNA Impact better than any wrestling show right, including Smackdown and ECW, but I DVR them all, including Raw (now take it thats only because I can watch the entire episode in 10-15minutes that way) but I don't know whats up with all the TNA hate? You have a promotion who is just trying to offer an alternative and provide another place to work performers but we have all these kids and virginal grown men who only live to trash it. Fact of the matter is that TNA routinely used to get 1.3s (guess everyone forgot that?) until college football season started and I'm interested to see what the ratings will be then.

The only reason that I hope for TNA RATINGS success is so that all you front running bitches can shut the fuck up.....but then the same guys that post under "guest" will come in here still posting under "guest" on the TNA bandwagon if that ever happened....

BTW to the guy who Cena can sell out MSG.. or course you fuckin' idiot, he has been promoted by the WWE machine. If Lashely had stayed he would've benefited from that same multimedia umpire that Cena has benefited from...I don't see your point....so maybe there wasn't one?

Some of the blind loyalty you TNA marks give thme make me laugh. I rip and complement both companies when appropriate. I can't wait til when Hogan gets his poisonous hands all over TNA creative and we have Hogan as the world champ, Brutus Beefcake as the X division champion, and the Outsiders as the Tag Champs. Then lets see how much you like TNA (Totally No Audience) then.

Posted By: Neil (Guest)  on November 21, 2009 at 03:44 PM

Seriously. All WWE has to do is start giving a damn, make a few weeks to the show and they'd crush TNA in a heartbeat. So if TNA does try to switch onto Monday nights or go head to head with WWE directly another way you know WWE will come out on top.

Posted By: Guest#0363 (Guest)  on November 21, 2009 at 04:12 PM

All this back and forth between WWE/TNA fans is so goddamn annoying, are the people that take part in this like 5 years old?

Retarded WWE fan: "TNA only gets 1.1 ratings LOLZ!!!"

Retarded TNA fan: "But TNA doesn't have a midget on TV LOL PWNED!!1"

Seriously, Impact is just a horrible show to watch, I'm not surprised ratings are low, I thought AJ v Angle last month was a sign of things to come but it's back to normal with talented wrestlers in 4 minute matches each week and a ridiculous amount of swerve heel turns (Nash-EY are friends now! Foley & Abyss are friends now! Rhino & Dudleys are friends now! All this within a week) and gimmick matches, I liked TNA's last 2 pay per views but Impact needs a lot of work.

Posted By: Neutral Observer (Guest)  on November 21, 2009 at 05:34 PM

ratings mean nothingright now they just signed an extension and will be on TV for quite awhile to come so it doesn't matter if they do a .1 they aren't going anywhere. Unless they move to Monday Night and I would bet if they diid and advertised it and were on a semi decent channel they would be doing mid 2's. In direct competition with RAW. Because let's face it if people had to choose bewteen RAW and TNA I would hope (if they knew anything at all about wrestling) they would choose Impact. Smackdown might be a toss up but definately RAW.
But that is the thing the WWE guys don't even relaize the worst show of all the brands, least action, most commercials, most reruns, most hyping PPVs, and most use of transvestite looking divas has by far the highest rating.

Of course not. there has to be competition for WWE in order to have a war. TNA is NOT competition.
