WWE News: Shane McMahon and UFC, Mickie James Interview, JR Talks Raw, More
Posted by Larry Csonka on 11.25.2009
More Wednesday news…
- There are rumors that Shane McMahon has sold "$50-$80 million dollars" worth of WWE stock so that he can buy into the UFC. That is not the case. Back in July he sold a minor amount of his stock, but he has made no sales since according to the WWE SEC Filing Page. Since Shane is an officer of the company, the WWE would have to report any sales of stock that he makes. [Credit: Pwinsider.com]
$5 says Mickie is gone by the time that Bossier show rolls around.

"The WWE fuels my fire," she said. "There's no feeling like the roar of the crowd."
Unless Mickie is sugarcoating her current status in WWE, the dirt sheets are probably getting it wrong that she isn't happy there at the moment. It's not really a "roar" considering the increased presence of children in the crowd lol.
"James is one such diva fans might recall for her 2005 storyline with Trish Stratus in which she played Stratus' biggest fan turned obsessed stalker."
AKA the last notable (read: over with the crowd) women's programme WWE did.

"Love me or hate me, as long as they're reacting that's all that matters to me," James said.
Thats the first problem.

Wishful thinking buddy. Of course she's going to put over WWE. Do you really think she would say "I fucking hate it here and can't wait to leave?" The dirt sheets might get things wrong sometimes, but there has just been too many stories about her in recent months for it to be untrue.
Between the weight, her future plans, her sloppiness, her "demotion" to Smackdown, it's all starting to add up. She probaly lost the last of her "fire" long ago. It sure looks like it when she's out there. I bet you this interview took place before the pig segment though. That would have been hard to sugarcoat, and I find it hard to believe she would not have been asked about it.

Actually, the last notable moment in the women's division was the final chapter of the Trish/Lita feud, leading up to Trish's retirement. And what do both feuds have in common? Trish. Her star power was the only reason fans get so in to that stalker storyline in the first place.
Mickie has been completley uninteresting since then. That's why I'm amazed that some of you act like her departure is going to be a big blow to WWE. It's not. Look at it like this. Trish Stratus leaving was not only a huge blow to WWE, it pretty much killed the entire women's division. Mickie has been on a steady decline for over three years now. When she leaves, the divas will be no better or worse off than they are now.

the dirtsheet are full of shit. mikcie is happy in wwe. wwe is happy with her.
mickie is plastered all over the wwe website and she is the diva wwe uses for interviews.
as far as that pig segment, mickie knew about it and took it in stride. she knows it is entertainment and that she is not fat.
the dirtsheets get their info from third level 'sources' who mostly make up shit.
as far as mickie preparing for life after wrestling, good for her.
i doubt she wants to be a fake rassler when she is 34 years old .

True. The only women people will remember from this decade are Trish and then Lita...and Chyna to a much lesser extent.
I do think WWE going PG was another major factor. Even when Trish and Lita were respected and taken seriously, their 'assets' were also appreciated by the fans. Now all we get are a bunch of "sexy, smart and powerful" divas who are conservatively dressed. Even in the post-Trish year, Candice was getting pretty over prior to her injuries. Sure she wasn't anywhere near Stratus level, but the crowd responded to her very well from what I recall.
I do think Kelly Kelly could be the closest thing to being another Trish given her over-ness with the live crowd and her age.

Oooh, that Mickie James! I'd do her, even if she is fat.

Well, Kelly does a decent job playing the "pretty babyface" role that Trish perfected, but I don't think she'll ever come close. She has no real charisma, and to put it bluntly, she comes off as pretty stupid in real life. You could always tell with Trish, even early on, that she was a super smart girl, and that played a huge part in her getting as good as she did. IMO, no woman has ever understood the business better than her, which is why she became so huge.
Kelly reminds me more of Stacy Keibler. Nice looking, likeable girl that will jump all over any outside offers she'll get, and then forget all about the wrestling business, and do nothing of note once she leaves.
If you could actually get people to give a fuck about Maryse, she'd probaly have the best shot at becoming like Trish. On the bright side, people already seem to prefer her to Melina, so maybe she'll actually get a reaction when the fight.

I'd say that a large part of getting the audience to care is Maryse's problem and if she can't get over then she never had a shot of becoming "like Trish". Trish was in some pretty bad story lines, but got over anyways. Most wrestlers who have gotten over have been in that situation. Give Matt Hardy the same build that the Rock had and he would still be Matt Hardy at the end of it all.
None of the current "Divas" have the combination charisma, mic work, and in-ring ability to get as popular as Trish or pre-Edge Lita.

mickie james is the closest thing wwe has to trish stratus in terms of being over with the fans.
as far as that pig segment goes, mickie knows it was a storyline.
the dirtsheet scum bags who can't get real jobs love to make up stories about an industry they will never work in or have influence over.
mickie is not leaving wwe to purusue country music because that is a risky endeavor.
there is nothing wrong with mickie pursuing side projects in preparation for life after wrestling because women have a short shelf life in this industry.

That isn't her. She did pose for 2 different nude layouts in C-level porn mags, but that is not her in the video you are referring to.
Also, anyone who thinks she is fat is a complete fucking moron. Look around you-she is thinner than 95% of the women in the US.

Out of boredom, I took a moment to look over that WWE SEC page, and I noticed a few things. . .
Shane and Stephanie sold the same amount of stock, on the same day for roughly $4000 (it was in July).
Stephanie owns around $600k of stock. . . Shane around $580k. . . and Kevin Dunn, over a million.

In in ideal world Maryse would be groomed to be the next star. Well she might be, but the entire status of the Divas is at an absolute low right now. When Trish was around she got to mingle with different aspects of the roster, not just with the other women. Her and Lita were often part of main events and mixed tag matches, taking bumps at the hands of the guys. Like I said, WWE going PG has hurt the Divas worse than any other aspect of the product. Even the few valets they have don't get involved in matches like the ones in the past used to.

If I could ask Mickie one question:
Why did you lick your hand at WM22?
Posted By: Charles (Guest) on November 26, 2009 at 06:27 PM
Mickie is a great woman, what ever she decides to do it'll be the right choice.
