WWE Raw House Show Results: Johnson City, Tennessee 11.28.09
Posted by Larry Csonka on 11.29.2009

Thanks to roXXas for sending the results along.

* Arena looks to be around 90% full with mainly about half of the upper level empty. Lots of glow sticks and DX and Cena shirts in the crowd.

* Melina & Eve Torres over Maryse and Alica Fox at around 7 minutes when Melina pinned Maryse after the Last Call I think. (Standing legdrop over throat)
Out of the gate, Melina and Alicia botched an up-and-over spot with Melina landing on top of Fox and noticeably favoring her right shoulder which she tagged to Maryse and stayed outside the rest of the match which was very disjointed since Maryse couldn't tag and lead to a lot of crowd playing while the faces recovered.

* Sheamus squashed Primo in right under 2 minutes with the Pump Kick and Crucifix Powerbomb.
Sheamus got HUGE heat coming out and cut a promo about what happened Monday night. Sheamus clobbered Primo right at the start and tossed him outside which prompted some "You Can't Wrestle" chants. Sheamus went outside to get Primo but he slid back in as Sheamus got out of the ring and went for a baseball slide but missed and ate a clothesline from Sheamus and tossed back in for the finish.

* Santino Marella over Chris Masters after sliding out of the Masterlock into a victory roll at around 6 minutes.
Santino got a pretty good pop and worked the crowd great throughout the match frustrating Masters with his antics.

* Carlito (Sighting~!) over Alex Riley at around 6 minutes with the backstabber.
Crowd was pretty dead since Carlito hasn't been seen in forever and no one knew who Riley was which lead to Carlito getting cheered some. Carlito stalled and generally didn't look like he was interested in wrestling Riley. (Insert lazy Carlito joke here) Once things got going it was a solid match just nothing better than average though.

* Mark Henry over Jack Swagger at around 8 minutes with the World's Strongest Slam.
Henry got the biggest pop of the night so far and he was wearing his Silverback singlet not the ones he's been wearing with MVP lately. Story of the match was mainly Swagger's offense just pissing off Henry till Swagger got an opening and started to work on the leg. Henry went to military press Swagger but his knee gave out and Swagger hit the ropes for a cross body into the WSS for the win.

INTERMISSION

* United States Title Match: The Miz over Evan Bourne at about 11 minutes after the Skull-Crushing Finale.
Miz came out with an envelope in his pocket which Just Roberts read, saying that due to him partying with Heidi and Spencer Pratt the night before his voice was out and gave thanks for Team Miz winning at Survivor Series ending with Roberts saying "He's The Miz...and He's Awesome!!!" after Miz corrected his pronunciation of his catchphrase a couple times. Bourne was more over than I expected with about the same size pop as Mark Henry. This is the kind of match they should have on Monday nights. Match was very back-and-forth. with Bourne getting a nearfall with the Double Knee crash off the top rope which lead to him dragging the Miz for the Shooting Star Press but Miz grabbed onto his leg before he could get outside to climb up and after trading shots Miz hit the Reality Check for a nearfall. Bourne hit a big jumping knee strike on Miz that laid him out near the corner and Bourne got a tremendous pop as he climbed up and went hit the Airbourne right into the Miz's knees, which setup the SCF.

* Kofi Kingston and Triple H over Legacy around 17 minutes with stereo Trouble in Paradise and Pedigree.
Kofi's push is working cuz he out popped everyone else til Triple H came out and blew the roof off. Legacy got good heat for coming out but nothing major. Triple H played face-in-peril first for a bit with Cody Rhodes throwing left jabs and going for the Flip Flop N Fly but he crotch-chopped Triple H instead of the bionic elbow and got a clothesline for his moxy which lead to both men tagging out with Kofi coming in House of Fire on Dibiase and went for the Boom Drop but Rhodes pulled down the top rope so Kingston spilled outside. Kofi took a decent heat segment til he got the hot tag to Triple H as Rhodes ate the high knee and the facebuster...Dibiase in and takes the spinebuster!!! Rhodes gets one too!!! Triple H sets Rhodes for the Pedigree but Ted breaks it up and Kofi comes charging but gets tossed to the outside. Legacy look to set Hs up for something but out comes Hornswoggle (in full DX gear and a huge ass pop) he starts tuning up the mini-band as he has Legacy's attention and Sweet Shin Music to Rhodes who looks pissed off and then crotch chops Legacy before they turn around into Trouble in Paradise and the Pedigree. After the match, Triple H just shrugs his shoulders as Hornswoggle goes to the back and stays out for a good while going around the barricade and slapping hands with all the fans.

* WWE Championship Match
John Cena over Randy Orton at 21 minutes with the Attitude Adjustment.

Both guys got the biggest pop (Cena) and heat (Orton) of the night. They teased some crowd brawling as Orton knocked Cena off the apron into the rails a couple times before tossing him over and looked to RKO Cena on the floor but got shoved off and back over the barrier. Cena tossed Orton into the rail a couple times before going to whip him into the steps but Orton reversed and teased a countout spot (?) with Cena being lifeless till the count of 9 where he popped up and slid right in before the 10. Orton avoided the AA a couple times and hit the hanging DDT off the rope for a nearfall and went to the Garvin stomp and even did he Legend Killer pose to huge heat. RKO shoved off and Cena caught him in the STF but Orton made the ropes. Cena got in the Five-Knuckle Shuffle and set up again for the AA but got caught with the RKO!!! Orton slowly covered for a nearfall and was in disbelief and set up for the punt but Cena rolled out for it and finally hit the Attitude Adjustment.

Overall the crowd was very lively but the pre-intermission was very pedestrian and then afterwards the rest of the card kicked it into high gear.

* Biggest Pops:
Cena
HHH
Kofi
Hornswoggle
Bounre/Henry
Santino

* Biggest Heat:
Orton
Sheamus
Legacy
Swagger
Miz

Kofi Kingston and Triple H teamed up?! SICK! Hopefully I'll get the chance to see the house show in Buffalo on Dec. 27 to see the sort of WWE action that goes on when the cameras aren't rolling. And the match was 17 minutes?! *drools*

Half of the entire upper level is empty, yet the arena is 90% full? Must be either a small upper level or someone is practicing that thing President Bush talked about called "fuzzy math"

Sounds more like 80% but still pretty decent

I'm surprised that Sheamus verses Cena isn't doing the house show circuit seeing as though they're having a title match on PPV in two weeks. Not to mention the whole Orton NEVER~ getting another title shot, but then, house shows never happen in kayfabe.
