Very underrated big guy. He got soooo close to the top, but never got that final push. Probably the best monster heel in the past 4 years. RIP Samoan Bulldozer.

I'd like to say my favorite memories are from his Cena feud at Rumble 07 but that is not the case....

1. Stiffing the hell out of those Jackass guys that no-sold his attack

2. His short face run in the summer of 2007 with Regal calling him YouManga!!!

Another one gone way too soon. The sad part is Vince is probably glad he didn't do this on his watch.

My hearts out to the Samoan family of Eddie Fatu. Praying for you.

RIP. Seeing as we know nothing of the guy apart from his time in Wrestling, that guy was one hell of a worker. One of the best big-men to have come through North America in a long time.

Man that sucks. I was having a pretty good day until reading this horrible news. I really liked him during his time in the WWE, and thought the match he had with Cena at the Rumble a couple of years back was a minor classic. This is just a total shock.

A talented guy, and I'll miss seeing him in the ring.

RIP Eddie Fatu

Holy crap what happened?

Posted By: Guest#5084 (Guest)  on December 04, 2009 at 06:56 PM

Total shocker. I just hope whatever it turns out to be can prove a means of education for someone. He totally surprised me and many others by how well he carried his new character upon his return to the WWE in 2006. He had a tremendous match with Cena which not everyone has proved capable of. I was hoping to see him feud with Undertaker when he moved to Smackdown, but for whatever reason it didn't happen.

I'm gutted for him and his family. Rest in peace.

Terrible news to hear and I sympathize for Umaga's family. I always enjoyed Umaga's work in the ring, so quick for a big guy and a pretty good bumper too.
If it was true that he was released by the WWE because he didn't want to attend rehab then that's a shame.
Hopefully some good can come of this for other wrestlers. RIP big guy.

Posted By: cbear34 (Guest)  on December 04, 2009 at 06:59 PM

My thoughts and prays with his family..

Very sad about Umaga but he bought it on himself... WWE tried to help he said no.. he paid the price.

I'm sure in the next 9-12 months time we will be inserting another young famous wrestlers name in place of 'Umaga'.

The nature of the beast.

Posted By: Andrew Barbarash (Guest)  on December 04, 2009 at 07:13 PM

Can't believe we've lost another one! As much as this industry conditions you to become accustomed to death it still burns every time.
I got to see him perform a couple of times and I'm glad I did.
Rest in peace Eddie.

Condolences to the Fatu family as Eddie 'Umaga' Fatu provided entertainment to us all. Never given a true push to show his potential as he had all the tools with his wrestling skills and persona. Another one gone too soo. Its a shame as he supposed to have had good matches against Ken 'Kennedy' Anderson only last weekend for his last match. Four years ago, Mr Anderson had a match with another Eddie who sadly had his last match. Sad coincidence, as a wrestling fan, I'm saddened as everybody from all over the wrestling loving world.

RIP Eddie Fatu 1973-2009

A real shame. Saw him perform in Perth, Australia just ten days ago. He looked good - slimmer than I had ever seen him and lightning in the ring for a big man. Another senseless wrestling death. If only he'd taken WWE up on their rehab offer, maybe any heart issues he had could have been tracked. Rest in peace, and I hope your family can take comfort in the fact that you entertained millions and that they will never forget you.

such an intense character within the ring and was a powerhouse. will be missed.

from wiki

On December 4, 2009, Fatu was hospitalized after his wife found him not breathing with blood coming out of his nose. He was rushed to a local hospital in Houston, Texas and was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit.[52] It was reported that Fatu had suffered a heart attack and was put on life support, until the decision was made to take him off of it. Fatu was presumed dead around 6:00 PM EST, after suffering a second heart attack; he was 36 years old.

Very sad news. Umaga will be remembered for being a great character wrestler. He must have had very serious problems behind the scenes with substances. Theres a story here that I'm sure we'll hear about.

i cant beleive another WWE Superstar passing. It seems that everytime a great wrestler with great potential dies too soon and too young!

No doubt Eddie Fatu(Umaga)will be missed and now may he be wrestling up in heaven along with the other Legends in the Bussiness that have sadly passed away over the years.

I wouldn't doubt Eddie G. will be ready to pull a prank on Umaga soon as he gets through the golden gates of heaven along with Owen Hart as well.

R.I.P. Eddie "Umaga"Fatu

I never knew Umaga outside of the ring, but to say that this is a sad passing would be an understatement, Umaga was so close to reaching the top of his chosen profession. He is by far one of the most innovative wrestlers this side of an in prime Big Show. My personal favorite moments are his runs with the IC belt particularly his matches with Jeff Hardy, and the Battle of the Billonares which was an insane contest that everyone involved played to perfection. I hope that Umaga passing will not be looked at too harshly by the media who are not involved in wrestling. Those who do not understand pro wrestling can simply never be capable of understanding the values of particular individuals. Umaga was an individual with huge value, hopefully his legacy will live on.

RIP Eddie. I just saw this now, so f'n sad. I didn't really care for his gimmicks/characters before he became 'Umaga" but he really did well once he got that gimmick. I loved his match with Cena and was looking forward to hopefully seeing him in TNA in the future, or maybe even back in the "E". God bless Eddie and his family and friends.
