Hulk Hogan Announces TNA Three-Hour Show On January 4th
Posted by Larry Csonka on 12.05.2009
Live against Raw…
Joe Rogan introduced Hulk Hogan on tonight's UFC TUF 10 Finale moments ago. They talked about Hogan signing with TNA, and that he will partner with TNA and Spike TV. On January 4th, they will go to battle with WWE as they go live for three-hours and will come after everyone. Hogan says he will be there January 4th, and you never know when he will step into the ring.
Going head to head with Monday Night Football AND Raw?

Hilarious.

hogan is a has been and a scum bag. i hope he steps in the ring and breaks his neck.
the asshole can't even do a leg drop anymore for fear of breaking his platic hip.
i hope raw crushes tna because dixie carter needs to be put in her place along with has been hogan.

TNA might just have done the worst thing possible...they might have finally got Vince McMahon's attention, he will make sure something big happens on Raw that night to bitch slap TNA back to Thursday nights.
Posted By: Guest#2583 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:10 PM
There is no monday night footabll on January 4th. however, wasnt The Rock supposed to guest host a Raw in January? If they could pull that off, TNA is in serious trouble
Posted By: Guest#8155 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:11 PM
"Going head to head with Monday Night
Football AND Raw?"
Monday Night Football will be over by then. As for Raw will they actually put some effort into the booking of the show for once?
Posted By: abwiz74 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:11 PM
Awesome! Finally there is a challenge no one can turn down..Groovie, Hulkster..
Posted By: Billy Jack (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:12 PM
Hahaha, wow. I hope they succeed though. They won't but it'd be cool.
Posted By: Foolio (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:12 PM
YES!
Hogan's ego vs. the pitiful 2.9 that RAW is averaging against big football games (and on Jan. 4th, it will most surely be a big one)!
Posted By: Rein Engel (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:12 PM
The Fiesta Bowl is January 4. WWE and TNA will BOTH get crushed.
Posted By: Master of the Big Money (Registered) on December 05, 2009 at 10:13 PM
Horrendous decision by TNA, this can only result in them being ridiculed even more than usual.
Posted By: Guest#8205 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:13 PM
I think it's a good move. It can really only do benefit at this point. If they get crushed, it was a one-time thing and they tried an assault and it didn't work. It's not like the company is going to go out of business on January 5th if this doesn't go well. If they do decent though, it could spark something.
For all of you people here who complain about no competition, at least TNA is making the effort.
Posted By: Snabbit (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:13 PM
TNA goes up against Raw on January 4th.
TNA has a broken down "legend" in Hulk Hogan.
Raw is rumored to have The Rock as a guest host.
TNA: We Are Fucked.
Do you really wanna cross the line?
Posted By: Anonymous Smart Mark (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:14 PM
Personally I can't WAIT to be back to flipping back and forth between shows! It's been far, far too long. Hopefully both companies bring the goods that night.

just give it a chance. Bieng a Hulkamaniac since I was 13, I know what I will be watching. Hulk Still Rules!!

Dunno why everyone is bitching. Nobody knows what is going to happen, and its good for us, the fans. We all been crying for changes in wrestling, and now we're finally getting one. Have some optimism, even if it's just a little.
Posted By: NickNitr0 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:16 PM
Dixie Carter is clueless when it comes to business, why waste Hogan's debut on a free TV show that will get raped by WWE when they could, you know, actually make some money by promoting his debut for a PPV, I will have zero sympathy for this company when it fails.
Posted By: Guest#9827 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:16 PM
ROCK is going to host a raw on january 4th now.
mcmahon was saving him to either use him if tna announced a special show or to go up against the ufc show the following monday.
since tna is more of a threat to wwe, vince will have a three hour raw, bring in the rock and usa will promote the rock's tooth fairy movie since that is coming out jnuary 21st.
Posted By: Guest#9411 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:17 PM
There's no MNF Jan. 4th, but there is the Fiesta Bowl on FOX, and that's going to outdraw RAW and TNA combined.
Posted By: IWC Member #901001 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:17 PM
I wonder how WWE will respond to this..
"Rocky Rocky Rocky.."
I don't know how anyone can not like this.
Wrestling is about to get a kick up the ass.
Posted By: Propagandhi (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:18 PM
wwe should just load up the three hor raw and have THE ROCK as the host.
the rock is 20 years younger than hogan and is a bigger star in the mainstream media than has been hogan.
Posted By: Guest#8673 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:19 PM
Just for the lulz I hope Vince requests to USA to have a 3 hour Raw that night so TNA wont even get the first hour bump in ratings by being unopposed.
Posted By: Guest#9132 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:19 PM
a day after this is announced AJ styles, daniels, samoa joe and Homicide are released
3 months later
Allen Stylish,David blade,Sano'i the samoan destroyer and Jaun Cocco debut on ecw

"The Fiesta Bowl is January 4. WWE and TNA will BOTH get crushed."
I suppose at least then TNA can claim it was them who took the bite out of WWE's rating.

Return of the GOAT (Greatest Of All TIme) to Monday nights I can't wait. IWC can hate on Hogan all they want but wrestling is entertainment not a sport and Hogan is the best entertainer in wrestling history both wrestling booms were started because of him ( Original Hulkamania run and The NWO) those are facts people and he has come back not only to save TNA but the wrestling world as we know it...Thank You Hulk Hogan for everything you have done for us during your career looking forward to more great memories
Posted By: Dre (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:23 PM
No one expects TNA to beat Raw in the ratings. I think they have to see it as a victory if they are able to take at least some viewers away from Raw...If Impact gets a 1.0, its likely that Raw will not get a 3.5 or whatever they have been averaging.
Also, why don't we stop bitching, for all the things TNA have done wrong, at least they are doing something to reinvigorate wrestling.

They will certainly come after everyone else in the ratings.

wcw vs wwe all over again!
tna should have stayed away, they are not a big enough company to be going in raw's neck of the woods...
Posted By: Guest#2542 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:29 PM
TNA's very own fingerpoke of doom moment will be the night they thought it was a good idea to run head to head with Raw despite not being able to get half of that shows ratings in there one unopposed timeslot, I really question the sanity of the decision makers in TNA.
Posted By: Guest#3909 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:30 PM
TNA needs to realize that Goliath always kills David in real life.

TNA will take enough of a hit in that one night, then they'll retread back to Thursday's.
Posted By: Guest#4678 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:35 PM
WWE should have a three hour show but can't because weeks before 1/4, WWE will already have a three hour RAW because of the Slammy awards.

Jan 4th RAW: Main Event: John Cena Vs HHH Vs HBK: WWE Title, Kofi Kingston Vs Randy Orton: Steel Cage, Championship Scramble US Title Match: The Miz Vs Mark Henry Vs MVP Vs Jack Swagger Vs Evan Bourne, The Debut of Santino's Casa with Guest Host The Rock.
Posted By: The Dutch (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:39 PM
As a fan of wrestling as a whole, and not just one particular promotion, I think this is great.
The WWE historically has only been truly imaginative or daring when they've been foced to (either by outside competition or financial problems)
If TNA gets even a half decent rating, maybe it will force the E to pull itself out of the predictable rut its been in the last few years (especially on Raw)
So go TNA. Piss off Vince. Even doing the announcement on UFC is sure to grab his attention.
Because the harder TNA pushes, the harder WWE will push back.
And the real winner is us the viewers

wwe WILL have a three hour show on january 4th.
usa is solidly behind wwe and signed raw through 2012.
usa has always wanted raw to be three hours which is why wwe does the 3 hour specials.
wwe will bring in THE ROCK as guest host and he can promote his tooth fairy movie as much as he pleases and he can help wwe drop a bomb on tna's impact zone attack.
Posted By: Guest#0601 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:45 PM
What? Nobody else is thinking this? Shane-O just recently had a meeting with Dana White, and now Hogan makes an announcement during TUF that Impact will go head to head against RAW on January 4th, 3 days after Shane's resignation goes into effect? That's a lot of coincidences, my friends......
Posted By: Ben S (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:57 PM
Wow, you guys are some bitches lol....
What is wrong with TNA going against WWE? How does THIS affect YOU in any sort of negative way!? Exactly.... I remember the same guys saying the SAME shit back in the AOL chats about WCW going to Monday Nights lol.... they're not going to beat them in the ratings...they're not... what they are hoping for is to catch a few fans who are used to watching wrestling on Mondays and hoping that they'll actually switch the channel and catch TNA for the first time..hell, TNA's regular audience probably won't even tune it because they're programmed for Thursdays.. chill the fuck out and just enjoy having a Monday again to switch back and forth between shows...

there is no way shane mcmahon would have anything to do with tna.
shane is close with his father plus he still owns tons of wwe stock.
the only reason why has been hogan is debuting in january is that tna did not want to go up against raw plus an nfl football game the same night.
hogan wants to show dicie that his old steroid ridden crippled ass can still draw ratings in the fake world of wrestling since he is a failure as an actor, husband, father etc.
Posted By: Guest#2714 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 11:15 PM
TNA is swinging for the fences...I enjoy both companies as I am just a fan of wrestling...They might not outright win the ratings war, but it might force RAW to get the belt off of Cena and do something INTERESTING!
Posted By: Ken Kether (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 11:18 PM
I love how these WWE fanboys are predicting the death of TNA on Jan 4th. Like it or not, TNA is here to stay.
Seriously, what can the WWE do at this point that's even remotely fresh?
"Hey, let's have Cena-Sheamus on live TV. That'll keep eyeballs on our set."
Another DX-Hornswoggle segment? Brilliant!
The continuing burial of mid-carders like Swagger, MVP and Bourne.
In the meantime, EVERYONE will want to see what Hogan brings to the table, regardless of his age. He is the most intriguing character in all of wrestling history. There would be no Rock without Hogan, something you 12 year olds posting on this site fail to understand.
Outside of the Rock and Cena having a confrontation, it will be the same dry RAW as usual.
When the WWE decides to have some actual fresh storylines that result in some elevating stars breaking the glass ceiling (note to nerds, Kofi Kingston getting a cheap win against Orton doesn't quality) then RAW will matter again.
Posted By: JR (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 11:19 PM
Its an incredibly stupid move on TNAs part, but it should be interesting to watch unfold, and will likely ultimately result in WWE signing several TNAers.
Posted By: Guest#4832 (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 11:22 PM
It'll be interesting to see how Raw counter-programs, if at all.
If Vince wants to make a statement, he'll make it a tri-branded 3 hour show.
I would imagine 2 Raw co-hosts, the Rock and Stone Cold.
I could see them go ahead with Undertaker vs Cena.
Shelton vs Christian in a ladder rematch.
Orton and Batista vs DX.
On the TNA side, they'll also pull out all the stops. Cage matches, Ultimate X, Angle vs Wolfe, numerous references to Raw, debuts of former WWE guys, etc.
It's a good night to watch.

The Nasties are coming Beefcake is coming and Styles Daniels and that no talent hack Desmond Wolfe will job. Now not saying Styles and Daniels arent talented but your precious brits you have hardons for suck. I cant wait till Hogans men beat the them and take their spots. Please dont come crawling back to WWE. For all the TNAholes who call us Etards this will be sweet revenge. Also Vince owns you all. For all the idiots that support Ken Anderson he might be the "BIG" name that shows up and Vince will piss himself laughing because Ken Anderson is a talentless hack who will chance his name to Mr Injury INNNNNNNNNNJJJJJJJJJJJJJURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!! He couldnt suck the juice that comes out of Orton or Cena's jock but he would make a great member of the ring crew with that overrated midget Eric Young.

Wow spike tv talking ufc and tna! First of all I have to give props to spike tv. Love it or hate it this is gonna be very interesting for tna to test the h20. I think nothing bad can come from this.I know if the big E had spike tv (ufc) promoting their show vinnie mack would be loving it and good ol j.r. would be blogging like a mad man out of hell.Top it off its a three hour show! I sure as hell am gonna watch the whole f show!TNA has alot of new talent who can really move out there and along with the older talent is really an awsome mixture of wrestlers. RVD well is just a matter of time he will be here baby! Something very big is happening here old school and the new taz, hulk, kurt, nash, jeff, foley, pappa pump, STINGER, styles, joe, morgan, amazing, suicide, big hernandez, bobby, daniels, flash, abyss, sabin, desmond, shelly, homocide, rude, d'andelo, awsome kong, wild, tara, odb, sarita, hamada, velvet, hemme many more great wrestlers! All these tna talents are so awsome to watch them do there stuff or you can watch wwe hornswoggle and hhh orton. WWE has some good talent but it upsets me how they dont push them they just keep the usual top guys. A funny thing ive noticed smackdowns new theme song says cross the line ! hey where have I heard this ....oh yeah TNA cross the line. Also ecw raw and smackdown announcers saying the word impact over and over like crazy whats up? next time you watch wwe listin to the smackdown theme and listin how the announce team keeps repeating the word IMPACT over and over. LOL!

It should be noted that the Thursday that TNA moved this iMPACT from is the same date that the BCS National Championship will be played on. So either way, theyre going up against a behemoth ratings getter in the demographic theyre looking for. Might as well try and make a splash against your competition while doing so.

First-off, THIS is what the business needed, but, it need's to be done CORRECTLY. Once we establish (Terry, you listening, bro?) this is NOT 1995, we can work from there. VKM, the Dewayne element, IS novel, but, ALL novelties wear off. N-W-O (Kev?) COULD
work, I-F, you go with a N.OW W.orld
O.rder (get it?) and establish (catch-phrase alert): That WAS then, THIS, is
NOW, and infuse NOW-blood. What REALLY got WCW over back then? SHOCKABILITY.
I don't mean crude, offensive schtick.
I mean: WHAT is GOING ON here...THAT'S?!? I'm happy for the boys and the business: MAKE it HAPPEN!

Most of you guys are calling for WWE to have The Rock guest host. What you guys can't seem the realize is that The Rock will never show back up on Raw if he values his movie career. Wrestling is not mainstream anymore. It is seem more at a kids 'sport' now. That is why you idiots will never see The Rock in a wrestling ring again! DROP IT ALREADY!

I hope TNA is successful in pulling at least some of Raw's ratings on the 4th. Nothing would help the business more than a little competition. I, for one, will be watching TNA that night and I haven't watched a single episode of wrestling for about three years. Hogan has my curiosity peaked about wrestling for the first time in all those years. I doubt that I'm the only one who is saying that. Can any of you honestly say that you think WWE has been good at all in the last few years? Wrestling needs a serious shot in the arm and this could be what we need.

Smells like WCW spirit...
I think it's a rushed move.
Posted By: Malte (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 08:39 AM
I like everyone believe that they will fail in teh ratings against Raw but at the back of my head something is telling me that they will get good ratings because many Raw fans are pissed off with the comedy and other things on the show
Posted By: Guest#5968 (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 08:50 AM
pg is not bullshit as a wrestling fan for 18 years i watched the monday night wars and on most nights they both sucked too many dumb out of place things happened on both shows the MNW was not the best era of wrestling just the most watched.
As for the pg spongebob is funnier than any of the mature shows on tv.

EPIC WOW to start off 2010. Monday Night Wars part 2.
Posted By: Alexander Arce (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 09:02 AM
If WWE do get Rocky to host, TNA have got exactly what they want.
Fuck all the whiney haters, this looks to be a great move for wrestling fans.
Posted By: Chungles (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 09:36 AM
ROH, TNA, And WWE In One Night?? Monday night wars for one night WWE(WCW IMO), TNA, And ROH. All 3 will get destroyed in the ratings if the Rock Comes In then WWE will be the least damaged, TNA and ROH are both the little trains that could. And if possible i would love for no one in the whole world to watch RAW i dont wish that death on anybody. I think TNA shouldve waited until the WWE already used The Rock for the guest host.

" think it's a good move. It can really only do benefit at this point. If they get crushed, it was a one-time thing and they tried an assault and it didn't work. It's not like the company is going to go out of business on January 5th if this doesn't go well. If they do decent though, it could spark something."
Posted By: Snabbit (Guest) on December 05, 2009 at 10:13 PM
THIS is the truth. I think that they absolutely have nothing to lose, even if they don't get a higher rating. Instead of complaning, people should be happy. All we have been doing is complaining about how bad RAW has been anyways, so now we'll have an option. I haven't flipped back and forth on monday nights since 2001. It may not be wcw vs wwe circa 1998 but this will be MORE than good enough for me.
Posted By: cj (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 09:47 AM
vince has to get 3 hours and put on a quality show and I think he will. For those people who think it's just going to be the same old raw are fooling themselves. Vince isn't a stupid man, if he was he wouldnt be in business for as long as he has been. MNF is ALWAYS going to get some sort of huge ratings, just for the fact that football is this nation's #1 sport(baseball can fool itself all it want, it's not) But this is a competitor he's going up against and he's not going to put on a pedestrian show, he's going to be out to make a statement. that said here's a wishlist for that show(names mentioned twice are either/or option):
Guest Host-Rock
main events-
Cena vs. HBK or Cena vs. HHH(more likely)
Undertaker vs. Punk? Batista vs. Punk?
HBK vs. Jericho
Morrison vs. Punk for IC title
Christian vs Benjamin rematch
Return of Edge in one form or another.
6 pack challenge for US Belt-Miz, swagger, bourne, christian, mcintyre, mysterio

Good. Lets hurry up and get this TNA shit over with. The sooner the better. DEATH TO HULK HOGAN! DEATH TO TNA!
Posted By: Guest#2052 (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 09:56 AM
if the rock hosts that raw the year 2010 couldn't start any better...anyway tna will get crushed
Posted By: christiansen (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 10:01 AM
January 4th is going to be awesome. Hopefully this wakes Vince up about his product being stale. It is truly the Monday Night Wars all over again, this time on a bigger scale. TNA is going to war against WWE & ROH that night. 3 wrestling promtions on in the same 3 hour period. This is epic. We might FINALLY get some quality matches that night.
Posted By: Ty (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 10:28 AM
First off---As of now The Rock has not been "announced" for Raw on Jan 4th and as far as the Fiesta Bowl is concerned, No one will knows until Sunday Night on whom is playing in it...For all we know it could be one great team and one shit team.
Second--this is good for the business. Real wrestling fans have been waiting for this moment for a long time, and, I want to see what each company is going to bring to the table, before shitting on the other.
I am tired of the TNAers bitching about Raw being a weak show, because of the lack of wrestling and I am tired of the WWEers bitching that TNA is were the old and unwanted go...Let both promotions duke it out and see what happens. I think both will do just fine that night.
Posted By: Mr. KT (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 11:11 AM
"TNA's very own fingerpoke of doom moment will be the night they thought it was a good idea to run head to head with Raw despite not being able to get half of that shows ratings in there one unopposed timeslot, I really question the sanity of the decision makers in TNA. "
WCW had very low ratings for years yet took on raw for a few years pretty sucessfully, we will just have to wait and see what happens.
Posted By: kevin (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 11:22 AM
You sceptics are seriously pissing me off now. Can we not give ANYTHING a chance any more? This is very interesting and good news for the wrestling biz...we all know competition = a better product. TNA will probably not do very well here but we should at least give it a chance.
Posted By: Parxy (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 11:48 AM
Also if Rock hosts RAW that night it will be Rock/Hogan III! And if Rock does host it then that's already proof that both companies will be raising their game. Us as fans will benefit the most.
Posted By: Parxy (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 11:52 AM
say what you want but i think its gonna be kind of cool to be able to flip from channel to channel between wrestling promotions on a monday again
Posted By: naro (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 12:20 PM

Man, kid, or whatever you are. I got a headache from reading that VOMMIT of a post.
Do me and EVERYONE a favor? Learn to FUCKING WRITE!
Posted By: Guest#6919 (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 12:44 PM
Sounds good to me, why all the bitching? Maybe wrestling will take an hour that Monday to fast forward thru instead of 25 minutes.
I haven't watched UFC Finale yet but it sounds cool they let Hogan/TNA do that promo when Dana normally doesn't want anything around to blur lines of MMA & pro wrestling (other than Brock's background)
I hope TNA does well on the 4th
Posted By: Byzdalmyt (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 12:49 PM
you guys act like TNA won't pull out ALL the stops, you may say the rock hosts the rock hosts, but i bet TNA will pull out ric flair or get RVD to show up, i don't know about you but i'd much rather see an RVD vs AJ Styles match then hear some rock comedy with a leprechaun
Posted By: Guest#4127 (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 12:53 PM
the guy who called hogan a has-been posted like 10 fucking comments. chill, beavis.
tna going head-to-head is a good thing. I don't live in the states so I don't give a shit about switching the channels and all this rating-nothing-story. I will NOT watch raw. who would? if rock is there, I'll catch his segments on youtube. and I'll download impact, cause it's gonna be a good show.
Posted By: tully (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 01:05 PM
They may simply be testing the waters. To see what they can do WWE I do believe wwe is going to step their game up just to show TNA WHO REALLY IS #1.I know it's good for everyone but I'm a Vince mark and I want him to crush TNA in to powder and blow them away from the palm of his hand.
Posted By: Kyle (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 01:18 PM
As long as Hogan isn't posing the entire 3rd hour, I'm cool with it.
Posted By: Karatgold24 (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 01:20 PM
Guest#8673 The Rock is not even close to as big as the Hulkster you have to remember Hulk is WorldWide and is an 80's icon we are talking Rambo, Rocky type Icon Hogan will live forever Rock will fade away.

Posted By: Jared (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 02:00 PM
Ok, I know people have been shitting on this news since it came out, but I'm ready for this, b/c I wan to see what WWE gon' do. I heard the Rock was supposed to guest host A RAW live telecast next month, the thing is, where could it be? I say MSG in New York, and WWE has to pull out all the stops for this one. And TNA BETTER BRING THE FUCKIN' PAIN ON THIS ONE! I mean, it's STILL World Wrestling Entertainment. Vince is many things, but he's not stupid at all. I really wanna see what TNA is going to do though on Jan. 4, 2010. And then it's live at that? Man, Dixie and Hogan better know what they doing on this one. I wish them all the luck in the world on this one. It needs to get out though, I'm talkin about hit the internet, the radio waves, all the channels you can get. People need to know about this if it has any chance to make it! Rest In Peace to Eddie "Umaga" Fatu. Gone But NEVER Forgotten...
Posted By: Brian B. (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 02:06 PM
I'm pretty sure TNA knows they won't win. This is just about exposure.
Posted By: saiyahog84 (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 02:19 PM
with a name like Dixie you're pretty much an airhead
Posted By: Hate (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 02:25 PM
That's great. TNA will make a fine addition to the WWE DVD library. We can finally get the definitive Kurt Angle set!
Posted By: Guest (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 02:49 PM
Are all of these people complaining, the same ones who complained when there was no other company out there that "Vince needs competition"? I for one, don't see how this can be a bad thing. And taking a risk on a live 3 hour event on free TV will definitely have me checking it out, not to mention that its not that big of a gamble. People are crying about TNA being lost forever. Bullshit. TNA is just moving forward, whether that move is successful, only time can tell.
Posted By: DHX (Registered) on December 06, 2009 at 02:51 PM
I already flip between RAW and MNF so there is no room for TNA in my tv world
Posted By: Dwayne (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 03:52 PM
I just hope they have their talent signed for long term deals before angering the publicity machine. I mean after all one would have to assume that in a bidding war for talent that TNA would probably lose, more than likely. When WCW was around they had more money than McMahon, and could easily afford to go head to head with him.
TNA though? Yeah, I wouldn’t count on Panda Energy having the same cash flow as The WWE. Even if the WWE’s ratings are down it’s not like they’ve ever lived and died by ratings, but rather various merchandising outlets. If you don’t believe me then look up their DVD sales.
Posted By: ff (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 04:34 PM
This can only make the wrestling product better overall, on both ends. One would think, but ask me in a month.
Posted By: Nasty Nate (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 04:35 PM
they had to annouce this on something people actually watch
Posted By: lol (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 04:38 PM
Guess I am done watching TNA. No Room on the DVR on Mondays
Posted By: Bye Bye Samoa Joe. (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 04:45 PM
Holy shit. This is huge. Anyone denying this is a big thing is a tool. I know I'll be excited for that Monday night, and I'll be flipping back and forth like the old days . . waiting for someone to out-do the other. AWESOME!!!
Posted By: C (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 04:56 PM
im sorry.......but its a great idea.........theres no monday night football that day.........raw has consistantly sucked since wrestlemania........tna has a shot...........plus hogan is a draw......look at wm18....rock vs hogan.....everyone was there for hogan not the rock.........cheers for hogan boos for rock........thats what turned him face........wwe wanted to continue with the heel nwo..........but the fans said otherwise..........as they will again.....and plus................why is everyone upset...............wwe gets morer intertaining when theres compitetion............as fans you would want a better show right?????
Posted By: Guest#5044 (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 05:55 PM
TNA goes head to head with Raw whenever Raw is preempted and rescheduled to Thursday. I remember Impact doing a .6 against one of those broadcasts. Nice job, assholes.

not good at all RAW is the better show no joke TNA lol
Posted By: nate (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 08:31 PM
Does this mean TNA is going to reach the point where Vince signs away wrestlers hours before their PPVs?
As for which one I'll watch: thanks to having USA's eastern feed and Spike's western feed, I can watch both.
Oh, and one bit of advice for Dixie: make sure Hogan wrestles nobody whose contract is about to expire; I wouldn't put it past somebody to shoot on Hogan and jump to WWE where Vince, instead of jobbing the show-jumper like he usually does, would probably put a belt on him right away.
Posted By: ThatDonGuy (Registered) on December 06, 2009 at 10:11 PM
And guess what.........it's gonna be boise state vs tcu in the fiesta bowl that night. Two small schools playing each other so while they'll probably get a solid rating, it's not like it's two monster, big named schools. This only helps both tna and wwe.
Posted By: cj (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 10:58 PM
i liked the monday ight wars but WCW had the same ratings as WWE at the time and TNA is around WWE superstars ratings by falling below 1.0 ratings. if they actually get a ratin of 1.2 what makes them think they have the creativity to maintain a 1+ rating?
Posted By: rez_perez (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 11:04 PM
I dont think TNA will dent the RAW ratings, but hell why not go down in flames.
Vince will have heard this announcement and be working to put together a kick ass show...whether or not The Rock hosts doesnt matter,if he does Bye bye TNA,if he doesnt Vince will have a back-up plan something to get people watching(he might be a major douchbag, but he has done some amazing things in the past)
I hope for TNAs sake they know what they're doing,Hogan is a has-been and most people who watch realise hulkamania is old and doesnt have the legs it had in the late 80s and 90s,they wont win the ratings and will come a distant 3rd
I wish them luck

How appropriate the date of Jan 4, this will mark the 11th anniversary of "the fingerpoke of doom" and the airing of the taped RAW when Foley won the WWF title.
