WWE Removes Mike Tyson Announcement From Website
Posted by Larry Csonka on 12.22.2009

Earlier today WWE.com had announced that Mike Tyson would host the January 11th edition of Monday Night Raw. The announcement has since been taken down. Here is what the original WWE.com blurb said…
"Very familiar with being the center of attention inside the squared circle, Mike Tyson is ready to return to the ring. Unlike old times, however, the former heavyweight championship boxer will not be slipping on the gloves and delivering knockout punches. He will, on the other hand, be delegating responsibility to WWE Superstars as Monday Night Raw's special guest host on Jan. 11 from Minneapolis."

I think this allcenters around Bret Hart and/or January 4th.

It just seems all the hosts are ebing announced except for January 4th, so maybe that Bret Hart deal is not done yet, not the Mike Tyson deal.

the tyson thing is likley a done deal but maybe wwe did not want wwe.com to announce it so early.

wwe is going up against ufc so they likley want to spring tyson on them the week before the 11th.

AS far as bret has been hart goes, his contract starts on the 1st so if wwe neds him on the 4th, he will be there or vince will sue his canadian ass for breach of contract.

Maybe they're just emphasizing the January 4th episode by releasing news of the week after's host to whip us into a speculative frenzy regarding the identity of the host the week prior?

I'm pretty much the shit, so that's evidently the case. Bret Hart then Tyson, good way to start the 2010! Hopefully they sack all the failed-sitcom writers on the eve of a new decade!

It ia amazing after last nights horrible show that anyone would want any athlete to host Raw-- you have to be able to speak in front of people--Johnny Damon can't--Favre maybe--Tyson will be alright because he loves wrestling. That should be the first criteria in a guest host--not having a movie coming out or in an athletes home town. The best hosts have been the ones who enjoy wrestling.

If they can't get Tyson, they should have that rapper Ludacris as host. That way if we can't have Tyson, we'll have Tyson's favorite word...

I have to applaud WWE on its marketing. Posting an article creates buzz, but taken it away once media has caught on doubles the buzz. Now whenever Tyson hosts, the ratings should be great.

Tyson must've seen the show last night

Well the wwe goofs again. Considering the way they have been lately, TNA just might have a shot. Maybe.

Ha ha ha, I'm laughing so hard I shat myself. WWE is the equivalent of a never ending joke these days. RAW is the pits.

If the E is smart they'll let Mike Tyson sing a few verses like he did in The Hangover.

Must have found out that "Cold Stone" was no longer there...

And let's not forget his epic version of the monster mash on the jimmy kimmel show a few years back.

lmao along with Bubba who I couldnt agree with more. What do WWE and the Titanic have in common? Both are a sinking ship.

Yes, this probably has everything to do with a storyline "betrayal" from over 10 years ago. Nothing's getting past you, Detective Monk.

I like when Tyson used to call Steve Austin, "Cold Stone", that always cracked me up. And the way he says HeartBreak like Heartbweak when refering to HBK.

This is completely believeable to me.

Wouldn't it be something if the WWE actually had 1970's St. Louis Cardinals infielder Mike Tyson host RAW?

Posted By: Guest#3321 (Guest)  on December 23, 2009 at 03:01 AM

i think Ludacris would actually be a pretty good host, he's a good actor and a pretty big wrestling fan

Did Iron Mike threaten to eat Triple H's kid?
