Come for the Honky Tonk Man, stay for the rest…
- The syndicated version of Deal or No Deal this week has episodes with Eve Torres, Maria and Dolph Ziggler. [Credit: Pwinsider.com]
- The Hartford Courant has an article up on Linda McMahon, discussing that she has spent $6.5 million to finance her Senate campaign thus far. Linda has loaned $6 million to the campaign, and spent an additional $525,000. Linda has also received "at least $11,582 in small contributions". You can check out the full article here.
- Multichannel News has an article up, detailing the fact that TV shows that air real and or fake fighting are doing very well on TV. You can check out the full article here.
- The Atlanta Journal Constitution has coverage of yesterday's WrestleMania press conference, although the author of the piece is obviously not a wrestling fan. You can check that out here.
- The Honky Tonk Man posted the following on his website, discussing the WWE Hall of Fame once again…
To John Laurinaitis - 2nd February 2010
HTM would like to clear a few things concerning his declining of the HOF offer from WWE. First John Laurinaitis the head of Talent Relations for WWE treated me with the utmost respect. He dealt with me as a first class gentleman and what we in the business call "one of the boys." John was up front with me from day one. He has a difficult job as a middle man trying to negotiate for the final say in everything that happens in the company. The final say comes down to Vince McMahon. Can you imagine the number of phone calls John has to make on his day off or the number of calls he receives on a day off from Vince.
From all of us at HTM we want to say we were out of place to infer that John Laurinatis was behind any bait and switch scheme with HTM.
We say thank you John for trying to get HTM into the HOF.
The Honky Tonk man sucks. He's an embarassment to the supreme art of squared circle story telling. Him, Lawler, Jarrett, and the rest of those Tennesee hillbillies need to take a long walk off a short cliff. How about putting El Dandy in the Hall of Fame?
Gimme a "shell yeah!"

who are you to doubt El Dandy?

Never Underestimate El Dandy :)

Hey Honky, forget about the HOF. How about you and me go get a chicken sandwich? Oh yeah!

Why does he refer to himself in the third person? The Rock says no.

Good for Linda McMahon. It's so good to see her branching out of Titan Towers into the world of politics. She's doing something that's actually important and not slaving away in the cheap ass wrestling business.

what about Hypnosis? he's a high flyer of the highest magnitude!

If anyone should be in the Hall of Fame, it should be ME!

C'mon El Dande!!! Yeah!!

Yes, but her name is McMahon. Which means she is destined to failed in any non-wrestling projects.

That Atlanta writer is a douche.

Nobody gives a shit about your opinion. And then using a Steve Austin statement at the end? You're the very definition of a mark.

i believe that is a shark boy statement, which in fact makes him the very definition of a loser : )

Thought Macho was into Slim Jims. Or 16 year old CEO daughters.

That's cool you guys remembered that Bret Hart interview of him putting over El Dandy lol
Posted By: Guest#5285 (Guest) on February 02, 2010 at 04:32 PM
HTM in interviews comes across as a total ass...if he got on that podium he'd probably go off on one talking about how he was the greatest IC champ of all time...and glaze over the bit where he had to return every job ever done for him over the next 2 years!

Of course El Dandy should get inducted in the HOF. After all, he is a jam-up guy and serious professional.

Hey "the man", nobody gives a shit about your opinion of my opinion. Also, what's wrong with being a mark? I'd much rather goof around and have fun than be a prick who takes himself too seriously. Lighten up, d-bag.
P.S. Emoticons are for losers!

"It’s scripted. It’s a sideshow. It’s a bizarre mutation between sports and entertainment. "
I dunno, this author from Atlanta seems to have hit the nail on the head.
And good on HTM. Unless you're starving, you don't need the pittance Vince will throw your way. It is nothing short of disgusting that Mania guest C-lebs get paid more than HOF worthy vets.

Not that HTM isnt deserving but id rather see Brutus the Barber in the Hall of Fame
Posted By: Pete K (Guest) on February 02, 2010 at 07:14 PM
HTM probably was drunk on Gatorade & gin when he verbally ripped into Johnny, just to get a pop out of "the boys". Funny to see him now with his tail tucked between his legs trying to cover his own ass, so he won't get shafted for a future payday.

hang on a minute, arent you giving a shit about his opinion by commenting on it. Surely not giving a shit means not responding to it in anyway so you must give a little shit about it

It's "a long walk off a short pier" you retard. We use adjectives like 'tall' to describe cliffs, and 'short' to describe objects like piers. Thats why the expression is as such. Got it Biff?
Before you make more ignorant assertions about "hillbillies" you should stop being such an immature dumb ass. I'm not from the south, but I lived there for years and have met all types of people. Certainly many of them are far more intelligent and educated than you.
As for HTM, he deserves a spot in the HOF. If they are willing to induct losers like Bob Orton Sr. then why the hell not bring in the Longest Reigning Intercontinental Champion???

Seriosly, do any of you ever have any fun at all?
