A shot at WWE AFTER they stopped collecting their paychecks.....
Posted By: Wow (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 02:07 AM
All the original ECW wrestlers seem like bitter old men. They have a tremendous amount of respect from their fans already, what more do they want? They have to learn that nothing lasts forever.
Posted By: Qwerty (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 02:23 AM
Why would Vince thank anyone? Shouldn't Taz(z) thank WWE for giving him a spot in the company and a nice send off? The name of ECW doesn't fit. Makes sense to change it.
Posted By: slawturhaooz (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 02:38 AM
Taz is irrelevant.
Posted By: Guest#3197 (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 02:39 AM
This is just like the Tommy Dreamer thread. Do both guys sound a tad bitter? Yes. But what's the point of taking pot shots? Dreamer was a good wrestler and Taz was and is still a good commentator. You don't look any more mature than they guys you're ripping into when you prove that you're completely incapable of voicing a negative viewpoint without resorting to personal attacks.

the guy didn't even wrestle most of his wwe career. suck a dick, taz.

All above comments.........WWE TOOLS!
Hey taz I guess the truth really hurts for all WWE TOOLS! Any original ECW player got shafted and thats the bottom line..Vince never cared for ECW originals..You are doing an awsome job in TNA keep up the good work! As for NickNitro yeah thats why Vince kept him for so long right? Right? WWE TOOL!

Sadly, they are really missing his "horrible" commentary now that the King is the only commentator they have left with any personality to speak of and he's stale as Hell.
Posted By: No (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 03:24 AM
Considering Taz was a huge reason that the original ECW started falling to pieces, that fucking oompah loompah can shut the fuck up.
Posted By: Guest#0509 (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 04:38 AM
taking shots cos u work for TNA?! may want to think again cos when TNA bombs u may wanna get ur old job back!!
Posted By: foldy (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 05:24 AM
I agree with Taz. I've worked for companies I've not shared the vision of, I did my bit and got my money so I could do the stuff I enjoyed - why is Taz any different if companies are daft enough to pay him for his commentary (and I agree with you, he's not that great in his role).
Posted By: JAK (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 05:33 AM
Know what's also a classy move, Taz? Ripping on the guys whose money you gladly took and whose angles you happily shilled for for several years.
Posted By: Ryushinku (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 05:38 AM
What was the point of keeping the ECW name? There was nothing "Extreme" about it really. That said it is a very good show in its own right and NXT is actually a pretty decent name.

Maybe if your fat ass was still with the company and hadn't gone to TNA maybe you'd a get a mention idiot.

I'm not a big WWE mark, but really, wasn't keeping ECW stay afloat with cash injections, buying the company and settling all of Hayman's debt, then employing the cavalcade of midgets (some of them for a number of years), Providing Tommy Dreamer the means to live in a house instead of a cardboard box and releasing flattering retrospective DVD's honoring the (failed) company thanks enough? Really, Hayman and the ECW originals should be waking up and thanking WWE every single day for the charity WWE has continued to bestow upon "the little indy that could" (But in reality, couldn't)

I thought these were TNA House Show dates.
Posted By: Guest#9004 (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 08:09 AM
ECW was an immoral dump. Filled with drunks, drug addicts, criminals, and people who are weak. I say farewell to these immoral behaviors. I would personal accept them into Straight Edge and shave their heads away of sin.
Posted By: CM Punk (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 08:13 AM
Tazz you were the biggest shill commentator when you were doing it for ECW... it was fine then but now that we no longer work for them its ok to take shots.
Posted By: Smarky Pants (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 08:18 AM
i am sure that vince mcmahon, the guy who runs a billion dollar company really cares what taz thinks, right?
taz should remember that wwe owns all of his ecw footage and they have control over how he is remembered years from now.
taz made his fame in a bingo hall and now he works for a promotion that films its shows in an amusement park sound stage.
Posted By: Guest#6445 (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 08:54 AM
I wouldn't care for a thanks, more like an apology.
Posted By: The sfitz (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 09:12 AM
Taz, you think TNA and their "screwjob" is more classy? I think you may be just another bitter fool.
Posted By: Guest#2816 (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 09:21 AM
Who cares about ECW originals? Not me!!! I mean seriously they had their try at making ECW great and totally failed, if they suceeded ECW would still be the way it once was, but they just couldn't compete with the WWE, plain and simple. If thats not simple enough let me put it another way, simply the talent at ECW were not as good as the talent at WWE, and not just the wrestlers as tanlent I am also including behind the scenes talent...WWE was BETTER!!! Give up the give credit or thanks to the ECW originals, already... give credit and thanks for what an epic failure named ECW!!!!
Posted By: Dan (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 09:37 AM
Funny how Taz has a lot to say once he's been hired by the competition. WWE owns the name "ECW," they can do with it as they please.
Posted By: Anonymous (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 09:45 AM
TNA tool bandwagon should get off the WWE threads. This one is Taz so it is TNA so he is ok here but the other ones he posts on just to rip WWE are pointless. That being said Taz and anyone who works for TNA should keep there words short and sweet as they may be eating them within the next few years as WWE puts WCW 2.0 under. ECW recently was ECW in name only but TNA is TNA in name only and is actually WCW. If they could change the name to Thursday Night Thunder legally they would. I m sure Hogan and Bischoff refer to it as such just like people who still use WWF within the E.
Posted By: Radtke (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 09:54 AM
well not expecting a lot of maturity to go with this but oh well. Taz has the right to his opinion but when WWE started the invasion angle, they let Taz do some things in the ring....they put the originals back together and the company that was shut down got some shine in the ring fans went crazy. Looked to me WWE cared about it enough to do something with it but you knew it wouldn't last. One night stand... if WWE didn't care about it, that pay per view wouldn't have gotten off the ground...hell Heyman was a part of it.
They brought ECW brand back Heyman was a part of it then, even if he didn't like it he was a part of it in the beginning. Taz was even a commentator on it. How is that not showing respect and or a thanks to the originals get over yourself for a moment and think before taking unnecessary shots. Taz, is a smart individual he knew that version of ECW wouldn't last but worked for it anyway....and later asks for and gets a release but waits til now to talk crap. of course some might think he sounds bitter to others to be honest its just unnecessary. However to remain relevant I guess more than he already is you gotta do unnecessary crap for "the business"...keep the buzz going.
Posted By: Guest#0195 (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 10:04 AM
Why don't you Bingo Hall nostalgia nitwits shut up? I was THE heart and soul of ECW, not Tommy "Not" Slimmer. When I went out, so was ECW's remaining life. I moved out and moved on with my life. Most of the people complaining are the ones who could not find success in ANYTHING not related to ECW, right Tommy and Taz?
Posted By: Paul E. Danderously (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 10:05 AM
Let's face it, ECW was mostly a crappy promotion. Sure, it was different and innovative back then, but the same booking today would have been severely criticized and ridiculed.
And ECW Originals are irrelevant.
Posted By: Alex (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 10:06 AM
I completely agree Qwerly on what you JUST said! NOTHING LASTS FOREVER! And that also goes for the WWE. Even the almighty WWE wont last forever! In case you want to disagree with me just remember these are YOUR words not mine
Posted By: Paul Westbrook (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 10:42 AM
Maybe Taz and Dreamer should have quit WWE in protest when they decided to launch a show called ECW instead of collecting their paychecks every week. Oh, and WWE was able to do whatever they wanted with the ECW name because they freaking OWN IT. If Taz wants to blame someone, he should blame Heyman for being a really shitty businessman.
Posted By: BigTrevor (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 10:57 AM
So the ECW originals bitch because "This is not ECW", then they bitch because WWE is finally getting rid of the "Not ECW"?
Posted By: Todd Vote (Registered) on February 03, 2010 at 11:15 AM
should paul heyman be thanked for killing ecw the first time and nearly killing it a second time (he booked decmember to dismember)?
Posted By: jd (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 11:32 AM
LOL TAZ used to kiss THe NEW ECW ass all the time on the air
Posted By: Guest#4405 (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 11:47 AM
Shut up Taz. The only reason you have a job in TNA is cause the WWE kept your worthless fat ass around so many years after you couldnt do it in the ring anymore.
Posted By: Guest#8627 (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 11:58 AM
Oh yeah, all these comments are so smarky!
Posted By: Russell Smark (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 12:02 PM
Taz is just an old broken down 1-match wonder (vs Bam Bam) who never excelled outside of ECW, like a lot of the other ex ECW wrestlers when they were taken out of Paul Heymans pencil.

Posted By: Qwerty (Guest)
Credit where credit is due (Heyman and the boys)?
A show of respect from Vince for once.
It isn't rocket science, people who bust their asses deserve credit for their work.
You spend 6 months creating network tools, going 14 hours a day 5 days a week, finally get it done, launch it and have it become an industry standard used throughout the world.
Would you expect your boss do more than quietly thanking you in the hall? Damn straight you would! And you never broke your back to get it done.
Vince, yet again, shows his greedy, self-absorbed, credit-stealing self. And for the record, NXT is gayer than Rico's facepaint.

You'd almost think they weren't legally allowed to do so before... sheesh.
Who here has a shitty job? Most of us? OK. Now how many of us will quit our shitty jobs and starve to death? None. Oh, OK. So Taz and Tommy aren't in the wrong here.
Posted By: Guest#6898 (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 02:02 PM
Whoa, bitterness on Taz's side. Does he really feel that way or is TNA putting him up to it? Didn't hear him bitching when he worked for them. Just sayin'.
Posted By: lilwayne1 (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 02:23 PM
Well quick mental note ummm didn't Tazz up and leave the original ECW for the WWF/E? Sure the WWF/E allowed him to even appear and win its title but ummm he did leave Heyman and the originals for the WWF/E.....wasn't there til the end like some of the other originals. Hell he even ran a storyline where he was pro WWE against I believe it was Heyman at that time. Sure you can complain about your job if you want or your former job is you so choose but at this point in time.....what's the real point?
but can see both sides like it was said some times you take a job you I guess don't want in order to feed your family....but for all the thanks he is asking for again.....he left Heyman and ECW for this company he thinks should be throwing out thanks you's and things of that nature.

It's so sad to see a man act like a baby just because he won't be getting a check from a company he no longer works for when it was his idea to leave.
Posted By: Guest#2180 (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 05:48 PM
Guaranteed half of the pro Vince/anti Taz comments were posted by people who never watched the original ECW during its existence.
Taz has every right to be bitter. Sure Vince paid him and I'm sure he's thankful for that, but he completely shitted on the legacy of ECW and its original stars, took credit for its resurgance, and then failed at recreating it in his vision.
The fact is, ECW was something special and its thanks to a lockeroom of wrestlers that Vince never wanted and never saw as marketable. They never had the money or the exposure of a WWF or WCW. The minute the Rise and Fall of ECW dvd came out, millions of fans jumped on board. All ECW needed was some better exposure. Vince gave exposure to the legacy, finally saw how profitable it could've been then tried to recreate his own version of it. I think the ECW originals do deserve a thank you for creating that legacy in the first place
Posted By: bighustle (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 07:47 PM
"Credit where credit is due (Heyman and the boys)?
A show of respect from Vince for once."
Yeah! Vince should have pumped money into ECW to keep it alive! He also should have let ECW come on Raw, to advertise itself! He should even have let them defend their title there! Yeah, yeah, and then, when they finally went under, Vince should have helped pay off some of the debt! Then, after that was done, he should have given a bunch of them jobs, making them look like equals to his competition! And, if he really cared, he should have had a couple of tribute shows, in order to let it's memory live on! Maybe, they could even make ECW's brightest star world champion, putting him over WWE's biggest star at that event!
But yeah, fuck that McMahon, what a dick!
Posted By: Anonymous (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 08:11 PM
Taz = shit
Posted By: Guest#2788 (Guest) on February 03, 2010 at 08:50 PM
So when WWE releases a History of ECW DVD paying hommage to all of the ECW "legends", I guess Tazz will have to apologize for his douchey comments? Also, why would Vince say thanks to Heyman when he doesn't even like him, professionally?
