Details on Jericho's new Book

When can you get it?
Promotional materials were sent out recently for Highlight of the Night, Chris Jericho's next book. It is set for release on September 16 in Canada and February 12 2011 in the UK. A synopsis for the book was sent with the material, which is below:
A Lion's Tale documented Chris Jericho's journey from small-time dreamer to big-time superstar, from Winnipeg, Canada, to undisputed WWE heavyweight champion of the world. Having achieved his wildest dreams in A Lion's Tale, Chris Jericho's sequel kicks off just as the fantasy begins to unravel. Faced with endless internal politics on his rise to the top of the WWE company ladder, Jericho has to draw on the super-human resources that got him there in the first place. There are bruising encounters aplenty both inside and outside the ring. He reveals why he temporarily left WWE, includes the inside story of his time in Hollywood, and opens the can of worms that is life on the road with Fozzy. He also re-visits the premature birth of his twins and the pain of his mother's death, as well as the shock of Eddy Guerrero's and the Benoit family deaths. As upfront and outspoken as A Lion's Tale, the sequel is outspoken and direct as the man himself.

If you haven't read the first book, do so immediately...it's up there (and maybe even better) than Foley's first book.

I cant wait for this. His first book is fantastic and maybe trumps Hart and Foley's first.

All I want to know is if it's WWE sponsored or not. If it is, I don't expect a whole lot in the way of "outspoken and direct," unless Jericho plans on hanging it up very soon, or he really, honestly doesn't care about the almost certain reprecussions he'll get from it...which may be possible.

how many times will he use the word "parasite"?

I'm only about 3 hours away from the Canadian border... totally worth the drive and the cost to update my passport.

-----------------------------------
Foley's books were WWE sponsered and he was able to say whatever he wanted. Hell, his 3rd book verged on slanderous towards WWE at times.

Who give a flying fuck about Jericho's book?? He has not paid his dues in wrestling..and Fozzy sucks ass too! Ohhh it's true!, it's damn true!!

Lion's tale...ranks up there with Bret's book, although both are different kinds of books. Somehow, when the books aren't ghost written, there seem to be a lot more in it...

CJ comments on Benoit? I'd buy the book simply for that.

I get the impression that he feels pretty secure. Supposedly he volunteers to lose to put guys over. When WWE needed to make sure they had good matches and decent guest host interaction they stuck him on both shows. In that time he was in every opening segment of RAW as well as the top of the hour 'main event' or the real main event.
So yeah, he may not get long World Title reigns, but he knows he is necessary. If WWE screws around with him too badly he can fake a soft tissue injury and collect on his downside payments or retire again. They sure aren't going to release him. He could work an easier TNA schedule and Japan.

I seriously doubt that he didn't run it by Vince and company first. Jericho has a unique voice in which he can tell it like it is without being over slanderous. In his last book he critized WCW quite a bit but still gave Bischoff credit for giving him a break. I just hope he doesn't burn too many bridges so we can see a 3 disc DVD, since he has never had one. Batista and Kane have had DVD sets for pete's sake

My thoughts after I finished Foley's 3rd book: "I didn't need to read that"

Ricockulous.

Who cares about a US release. You'll be able to get it off of amazon.ca.

I got Jericho's book and Hart's for Christmas. Reading Harts still (over 500 pages, 2 kids plus 40+hour job takes time!). I am enjoying Bret's book, and still have Jericho's staring at me from the shelf. Who says wrestling fans can't read?
Posted By: T-Mac (Guest) on February 06, 2010 at 11:53 PM
I can't wait for this to come but the first book had nothing on his WWF/E career so I hope that's just a typo and he doesn't skip over it. Now they just need to give him his well deserved DVD career retrospective.
Posted By: Where his damn DVD set?! (Guest) on February 07, 2010 at 01:41 AM
Now he can call me a hypocrite and a sycophant even when wrestling is not on. Awesome. The first one was great and I don't expect less from this one, I do hope, however, that WWE is not publishing it, I fear it will not be as candid as the first if that is the case.
