ROH Signs Roderick Strong To A New Contract

ROH locks up another talent…
- ROH sent out the following announcement today…
(Bristol, PA- February 8, 2010) Ring of Honor is proud to announce that Roderick Strong has signed a contract renewal.
Since debuting for Ring of Honor back in March 2004 at "Do or Die II", Strong has evolved into one of the pillars of ROH. He is a former ROH World Tag Team Champion with Austin Aries in the 2nd longest reign in ROH history that is also highlighted by a record number of successful title defenses. In 2009, Strong had a banner year with his first ever tour of Pro Wrestling NOAH early on, followed by tremendous ROH World Title matches with Jerry Lynn at "A Cut Above" and Austin Aries on HDNet, a superb ROH World Tag Title match at "Violent Tendencies", a tremendous bout against Katsuhiko Nakajima at "Supercard of Honor IV", a great series with Tyler Black that culminated at "Eye of the Storm 2", and that is only a small sampling of the excellent matches "The Messiah of the Backbreaker" had throughout 2009.
"Roderick has grown into one of the foundations of Ring of Honor over the years." said ROH Vice-President Sydney Eick. "We are very happy that he has elected to resign with ROH, and look forward to seeing just how far Strong can go in 2010 and beyond."
Roderick Strong faces off with Brian Kendrick this Saturday at ROH's "8th Anniversary Show" in NYC, and will also be competing on all of our scheduled events throughout March as well as "The Big Bang!" in Charlotte, NC on April 3rd!
Meaning, Roderick Strong could not find work with TNA or WWE.
So he remains in the minor leagues.

Yep...that's the same Roderick Strong who had an attitude in TNA FOR PETE'S SAKE! Guess he's going to be able to afford all the Happy Meals and steroids he can eat now! And those matches he can have in the future with Jerry Lynn? EPIC CLASSIC!
But, yes, definite TNA reject.

Great move by RoH! Plus you're getting a guy who was loyal to you and has already once chosen RoH over TNA.
Hopefully this is a signal they will begin building the company around him and Davey Richards.

Only if by "had an attitude" you meant refused to no show an event he was a major part of just because TNA was a bit worried about a storm preventing him from getting to Orlando for a throwaway match on a show the next day.

He was in TNA in 2006 I believe.
He doesn't have a gimmick nor a great look. He is a great worker though.

Another excellent point, Jomo is so fucking overrated. If he didn't have the hair he'd be nothing. He has the look and that is it. the Miz is miles and miles ahead of him in charisma and wrestling talent. I hated Miz before and thought Jomo was the real deal but my opinion has obviously changed in the last few months.

sigh!The wwe fanboys never stop hating!Weather it's on TNA or ROH.However the funny thing is that they hate on TNA and ROH yet each and everyweek they also hate on WWE for ''RAW'' being so predictable and boring with thier guest hosts.In addition to that,they still watch TNA and diss them on a daily basis and hating on ROH as well.

@Ultima: Damn straight! Not only did he not no show a card where he was supposed to have an important match, but he made it to the TNA show in SPITE of the weather. I think he got a bad rap by being associated with Austin Aries, who reportedly did have a bad attitude while in TNA.
To anyone that would doubt the Messiah of the Backbreaker, look up his matches on YouTube. The guy may be shite on the mic but his in ring work is pretty damn impressive.
