YES YES YES YES YES!!! Throw in the post-Raw celebration and I am marking the fuck out. Immediate buy.

Hope the '94 Rumble match has Owen's post-match promo. "And that's why I kicked your leg outta your leg."

The documentary should be great but the match listings are extremely disappointing. These matches are so easy to find and already exist on tons of tapes and DVDs. Nothing really rare. I'll take a pass and try to buy the documentary part only from someone.

Posted By: Wrestlevessel (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 12:18 PM

2 big big gems here are Bret & Owen vs. The Steiners (which must be from the old Coliseum video WrestleFest '94)and the Owen vs. Bulldog European Championship 5-star classic from Raw in 1997.

Epic Match listing some of the greatest matches ever.

I'm going to be all over this set like a flannel Yeah Baaaaaby!

YES. 10 MAN TAG FTW.

Posted By: Guest#9854 (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 12:40 PM

The documentary portion looks incredible, but most of these matches are al ready on dvd. :(

Bret "Hit Man" Hart & Owen Hart vs. Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner
Florence, SC – January 11, 1994

I want to go to there!

Posted By: Liz Lemon (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 12:42 PM

Ahhhhh man. This is disappointing. They're basically forcing me to buy the documentary and one match (the tag vs. the Steiners, which is AWESOME), because I have all the rest with one or two uninteresting exceptions. It is a really good set for casual fans, but are those people really going to be buying this?

Cannot BELIEVE they didn't put any Bret vs. Dynamite matches from Stampede on there. They have the footage, it was shown in clips on Bret's doc, so why not include those matches?

Bret "Hit Man" Hart & Owen Hart vs. Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner

YES YES Fucking Yes!

Haven't bought a wrestling DVD in a long time, but I'll definitely get this one. The Hart Foundation circa '97 is one of my favorite stables.

Posted By: Havok (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 12:51 PM

Sweet looking set.

Posted By: Bahb (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 12:54 PM

Wow, where to begin with this one...only ONE match from Stampede Wrestling? Are you kidding me? Also, yet another DVD set with the Bret Hart vs British Bulldog match from Summer Slam 1992? I understand it fits the theme of the DVD, but they could have just shown highlights during the documentary. I know Hart hates his matches w/ Flair for some reason, but where is the first World Title victory of the Hitman when he defeated Ric Flair? That has never gotten the DVD treatment? How about a few more Dynamite Kid matches from Stampede? I will say, I have never seen the Hart Brothers vs Steiner Brothers match, and the Canadian Stampede 10 Man Tag is of course an awesome choice, but overall, a disappointing match listing. Hard to believe they could make a DVD like this and completely shun Stampede Wrestling. I personally haven't seen much Stampede stuff, so maybe the quality isn't great, but still, we buy these sets to see rarities, not stuff that is easily accesible.

Posted By: D$ (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 12:55 PM

Major letdown with the match choice IMO.

Posted By: JJ's Guitar (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 12:56 PM

"Bret "Hit Man" Hart & Owen Hart vs. Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner
Florence, SC – January 11, 1994"

FINALLY!

I am buying this dis just for this match alone.

Greatest tag team match never seen on TV!!!

Harts vs Steiners FTW.

Posted By: Hugh McDerp (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 01:19 PM

Seems like alot of rehashed matches but the documentary should be amazing.

Really wish they would have put the Bret vs Dynamite match he talked about in his book.

Posted By: AG Awesome (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 01:20 PM

Seriously? Only one match from Stampede? There weren't any Bret vs. Dynamite singles matches they could put on there?

Posted By: Guest#7688 (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 01:25 PM

And HHH sneaks his way on to another dvd he has no business on... And not one, but TWO HBK apperences!!! I call bullshit!

Bret "Hit Man" Hart & Owen Hart vs. Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner
Florence, SC – January 11, 1994

FUCK YES!!! I have this match on a Collesium video and it was AMAZING!!!

No Benoit = awwwwwwwwwwwwk-ward

Posted By: Marty Funkhowser (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 01:48 PM

Only 1 match from Stampede? WTF?

Between the Hart family and the McMahon family...they own all the footage. Very sad to see they don't honor their roots a little more.

Can't wait!

Posted By: Guest#1163 (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 01:53 PM

Theres a few hidden gems which will be nice to have on DVD. The Harts vs the Steiners have long been a match people have wanted to have on DVD so that will help sells. Hate begin that guy, but there are quite a few repeats that can be found on other dvds. Anyways, still getting and cant wait to watch the documentary part on this. I think thats where the real meat of this release will come from

Still no Hart Foundation vs Demolition 2 out of 3 falls Summer Slam 90

Posted By: theBZA (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 02:15 PM

The Match with the Steiners makes this a must buy.

Posted By: Who Needs Personality? (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 02:17 PM

I will say that adding the entrances to the 10 man tag from Canadian Stampede could be a deal-maker.

The match is already on Pillman's set (one of my favorites, by the way) but there are NO entrances. Which sucks because that's probably the best part of the match, hearing the crowd build and build with each guy announced until Bret's music hits and the place goes APESHIT.

Posted By: The REAL MP (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 02:18 PM

I believe WWE will do a strqight up best of Stampede DVD set thats y they left out all the great stampede encounter. It sucks benoits dead cuz he had some great matches with owen in stampede.

Posted By: jive (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 02:33 PM

Seems bare bones.

Go all out and put it on bluray.

This should be a box set. Career spanning all encompassing collection. Make it $100 or $200 and give us all we'll ever need.

Harts vs Steiners AND 10 Man Tag? Looks like I'm getting this one!

Posted By: IWC Member #23495867 (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 02:45 PM

Bret Hart said in an interview recently that the Stampede Video Library that WWE bought from Bruce Hart did not contain any footage of Bret Hart's matches. So I guess this was the only match that Vince wanted to buy for the DVD so he can say it has some Stampede footage on it.

Posted By: BigKev (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 03:03 PM

A lot of these matches are already on DVD. The Owen/Bulldog match for the European title is a great match. I can't wait to see that one again

Posted By: Puff (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 03:06 PM

Keep hearing rumors of WWE planning a Stampede DVD, maybe that'll have more. But the Hart/Steiners match is worth the price of the entire DVD all by itself.

Posted By: M A Weyer (Registered)  on March 02, 2010 at 03:13 PM

12 matches.

4 are part of the "Big Four" PPVs and thus have always been widely available.

1 is from freaking 2009.

I won't complain too much about the often-seen Canadian Stampede match, because I don't own the Pillman DVD.

2 matches, Owen vs. Bulldog and the 6-Man Flag Match, are on the Raw 15th Anniversary set, though again I won't complain too much since I don't own that.

That's 8 out of 12 matches by my very quick tally that I wouldn't exactly consider "gems." Although don't get me wrong, I will be all over this DVD when it's released.

Posted By: Guest#4177 (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 03:14 PM

YES! The Harts vs. the Steiners!

Posted By: y2j420 (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 03:25 PM

European Championship Match
Owen Hart vs. British Bulldog

Fantastic add, I only saw this match once when it was live and it was an awesome match and I'm happy to see it on this DVD. I too would have loved to see more Stampede matches, but oh well.

Posted By: Terra (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 03:36 PM

needs bret vs backlund at survivor series and more old stampede stuff. shoulda left off summerslam 92/93, survivor series 93 & canadian stampeded match ... why repeat matches on previous dvds ?.. because well still buy it ... stupid marks *slaps self*

Bret Hart vs Chris Benoit tribute to Owen Hart match - disgusting ommission by the WWE.

Posted By: JAK (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 03:54 PM

Too many WWE matches. All that footage of Dynamite and just a couple of appearances? He should be in the hall of fame.

Posted By: Mentalist (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 03:57 PM

10-Man Tag Team Match
Bret "Hit Man" Hart, Owen Hart, British Bulldog, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart & Brian Pillman vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock, Goldust & Legion of Doom
In Your House: Canadian Stampede July 6, 1997

----------------

This match is crazy! The pops that the Hart Foundation get are unreal. It's sick, Pillman gets a good pop, then Anvil gets a bigger pop, than Bulldog gets a really big pop, then Owen comes out to a HUGE pop, then finally Bret arrives to a fucking INSANE crowd reaction!!! It's incredible, one of the biggest crowd reactions I have ever seen for a wrestler. All Bret Hart haters need to watch this match.

Posted By: Guest#7964 (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 04:00 PM

Anyone notice that DX win the final match on the Hart Family DVD?

Posted By: Sailorman (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 04:01 PM

Why do you people mark out so much to Hart Brothers vs Steiners. It is easily available on Wrestlefest 94.

Posted By: Wrestlevessel (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 04:20 PM

Bought.

Uhm. Bret vs. Owen, WM10?

Posted By: Tony (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 04:42 PM

What, no Bruce Hart vs. Ike the Crippler Shaw?

It headlined the Cornfest in Taber, Alberta for cryin' out loud!!

Boo!

Posted By: Insayne Wayne (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 05:10 PM

there isn't much stampede included on this set, i believe, because the entire library is not owned by Vince. either he's not allowed to include complete bret singles matches or owen singles matches...i cannot recall which. even though there was significant stampede footage in the doc portion of the bret set, they were only clips, and not included in the matches portion. why else would they have not included those matches on that set? it's because the clips were on loan.

Posted By: someone's misinformed (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 05:30 PM

It only has one match from Stampede cause it's a test to see if their is a market for a whole DVD. But theres not cause it sucks.

Posted By: Guest#6169 (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 05:56 PM

"10-Man Tag Team Match
Bret "Hit Man" Hart, Owen Hart, British Bulldog, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart & Brian Pillman vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock, Goldust & Legion of Doom
In Your House: Canadian Stampede July 6, 1997"

FINALLY! Haven't seen this since it originally aired. Over all though, I was hoping for more Stampede matches. Wish they'd replaced a lot of the overlap (Bret/Bulldog '92, etc) some more old school, but what can ya do?

Posted By: Guest#7103 (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 07:42 PM

Looks like a great set

Posted By: Dwayne (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 09:01 PM

I'll Netflix this. I refuse to pay for anymore DVDs with Summerslam '92 or '94. Plus a lot of this is on the Best of Raw set.

Posted By: Schmidty (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 11:26 PM

where in figeddy smacks is the issac yankem feud or the patriot series??? fail.epicly.

Worth getting for the Steiners match.

I however wen to eBay for the Steiners match, so I don't have to get this with it's reused matches and bizarre choices (the Flag match?).

Posted By: Quimby (Guest)  on March 03, 2010 at 04:34 AM

I was excited for this set when it was announced, but this match list killed that quickly. Only ONE Stampede match? I already own the majority of these, and I don't even have the Bret Hart set.

Posted By: saneiac (Guest)  on March 03, 2010 at 06:13 AM

Look, the DVD sounds great, but all but 2 of these matches are on DVD sets the WWE has released in the last 3 years.

Posted By: APinOz (Guest)  on March 03, 2010 at 07:50 AM

This set isnt marketed to people who have the survivor seires anthology etc. I think its an awesome selection, I would have left out Summesrlam 92 because its on Brets set, but its an awesome match so I can forgive it.

I think the only other amtch I have on another DVD is the 10 man tag on Pillman's. This is a no brainer - though I wish it had Bret/Bulldog vs Owen/Backlund from Action Zone and/or Bulldog vs Owen from Sunday Night Slam 94
