  • Starting at 8:30PM ET!

  • Thanks for joining 411 for our live coverage!

-WELCOME TNAMANIACS TO TNA'S TAKEOVER OF MONDAY NIGHTS~!

Okay, so that's hyperbole. The WWE will probably double TNA's rating tonight but that doesn't mean TNA can't put on a fun show...even if it isn't really what they do. There's just a few minutes to showtime, but if you're new to me reviewing, you can find the rating system I use here. Surely there'll be a bump or two since this is my first time doing Impact live but I'll make things as smooth as possible.

    • Impact starts us off with a opening video. Complete with new music and new action shots.

    • Mike Tenay and Taz welcome us to the program. They hype the card, more specifically, HULK HOGAN's return to action. Dixie Carter is seen in the crowd shots. Taz says the match is happening sooner than we think!

    • THE RED AND YELLOW IS HERE, BROTHER! Hogan and Abyss are out! Abyss has some red and yellow on his jacket. I still don't like him. BROOKE HOGAN is in attendance too for those of you that care.

    • Hogan gets on the stick and says it's time to cut the clowning. This is the biggest night in the history of TNA. Hogan says Spike has their back and it's time to take care of all the business. Fans chant TNA. Hulk says there isn't a reason to wait around and tells Styles and Flair to get ready right now. Hulk says he came to TNA to take it to infinity and beyond. AJ Styles and Flair have changed the rules and Hogan has no choice now. This is TNA's Reckoning Day! He CALLS Styles and Flair out and says it's time to meet the power of TNA and all of the Abyssamaniacs!

    • AJ Styles' music plays and he's out with Ric Flair. Tenay and Taz discuss Styles' transformation and the ref rings the bell!

    Match One
Hulk Hogan and Abyss v. AJ Styles and Ric Flair

Abyss and Styles start us off. Styles tries to take Abyss down with a bunch of kicks. He throws a chop and tries to whip Abyss. AByss doesn't move and throws Styles against the ropes. That ends with Styles getting pressed to the mat. He tags in Flair. Abyss and Flair grapple. Flair takes Abyss in the corner and we see a bunch of chops. Abyss reverses momentum and throws his own chops. He sends Flair into the other corner and follows that up with a back body drop. Abyss tries to follow up but Naitch is there with a low blow. Styles chokes Abyss with the robe as Hogan gets the ref's attention. Hogan beats down on Flair but Styles nails him with the Pele Kick. Styles kicks Hogan as Abyss gets hammered by Flair.

    THE LIGHTS ARE OUT~!

    It's Stinger's music!

He stands in the middle of the ring with his bat. The faces stare down with the heels for a while and STING NAILS ABYSS. HE HITS HOGAN!

WINNER: NO CONTEST- To be restarted later tonight.
I felt cheated out of Hulk Hogan's return but all was forgiven when they made the rematch for later on in the evening. It was fine for the few seconds the match lasted. I just hope the nostalgia factor still exists when we see this match later on.

    • AJ grabs a steel chair and kills Abyss with it. He gives it to Flair and Flair kills Hogan with it. Sting leaves as Flair and Styles beat down on Abyss and Hogan. Both faces are bleeding now. Security eventually comes out and stops Flair and Styles from doing anymore damage.

Hogan gets on the microphone and says it isn't over. They will finish it before the night is over. He says since Flair keeps changing the rules, he's going to change the game. He makes their match a no disqualification match.

    • We return from commercial break with a recap of what just happened. Thank goodness because I almost forgot. Hogan + Old Age + Blood isn't a winning combination.

    • We see Sting walking backstage. Dixie Carter walks up to him and he takes her into a corner. He tells her he owes her nothing and he leaves.

    • Jeremy Borash is in the back with Ric Flair and AJ Styles. Styles complains about the do-over and says him and Flair owned Hogan and Abyss. Flair says Sting has finally come to his senses. Flair says the beatdown of Hogan and Abyss isn't over. Flair came out of retirement to make some noise around the world.

    • Abyss is screaming in the back. WHY STING WHY?

    • Some lady is seen comforting Brooke Hogan backstage. I think that's Hulk's girl. Brooke says Hulk isn't okay, despite what everyone says. She cries.

    • Kaz is in the ring with no music and no entrance. He talks about his decision to "leave" TNA two years ago. He says he had doubt when he left but that doubt is gone. Kaz says he's here to reignite the X Division. That gets the fans to chant X DIVISION. Kaz says if TNA is going to war, let the warriors of the X Division lead them into battle.

This brings out Christopher Daniels. He says he's going to lead the X Division into battle. Daniels says he's going to carry the X Division to the highest of heights because he is X.

Doug Williams is out now. He berates Daniels and Kaz for acting like superheroes. Fans chant USA now. He says the X Division is alive and well because he is the champion. Kaz says Williams has a point but Doug Williams wasn't a pioneer seven years ago. Daniels asks why Kaz is using we and says Kaz hasn't done anything he cares about. Kaz calls him a selfish prick and Eric Bischoff music plays.

He gets the music to stop and talks about Hogan's decision to come into TNA. He said he was excited to come to TNA because of the X Division. He calls the division the adrenaline of TNA and wants it to run bigger and stronger. Bischoff moves Kaz's title shot from Destination X to tonight. He throws in Daniels and makes the match now!

    WINNER: Doug Williams
Definitely the best match since I've started recapping TNA. I'd recommend.

That's followed up with a springboard jawbreaker. Velvet Sky tags herself in and gets a two count on Tara. Madison Rayne gets tagged in and they beat down Tara in the corner. Rayne kicks Tara in the back and covers - one count.

Rayne holds Tara and lets Sky slap her. Love tries to come in but just distracts the ref, allowing The Beautiful People to strike with a double russian legsweep. Sarita and Wilde come in and try to gather some momentum. Von Erich drags them to the outside but Angelina Love comes in and kicks both Rayne and Sky. Tara lifts Rayne for the Widow's Peak but Daffney comes in out of nowhere with the Knockouts Title Belt. She nails Tara and Rayne covers for the win.

WINNERS: Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne.
Nothing exciting at all. I guess they at least furthered a ton of storyllines.

    • Christy Hemme is in the back with D'Angelo Dinero. We learn he has a match with Desmond Wolfe tonight. He starts talking trash but Desmond Wolfe attacks him out of nowhere. He works over the ankle. He takes off the boot and takes out a chain. He whips Pope's ankle with the chain.

    • Sting is walking in the back. Tenay asks who his opponent is. Taz asks Tenay what he was doing at 4:20 in the afternoon.

They say it's time to celebrate BP style. JB asks for the bubbly and champaigne is brought out by a stagehand. Sky says things are about to explode. She then pours some champaigne all over Jeremy Borash.

    • Taz and Tenay talk about Sting some more. Taz says he was shocked by Sting's actions as we see a replay of what went down earlier. This brings out STING. It appears his match is next. Guy with a Really Awful Wrestling sign in the front row. PLANT. Sting is getting cheered by pretty much everyone except Tenay and Taz.

    Really?

    • Sting strikes with the bat after. It ends after he whips RVD off the ropes and strikes him in the throat with the bat. Fans chant RVD some more.

    BUT STING ISN'T DONE!

He comes in and blocks an RVD punch. He hits with the bat. RVD tries to attack again but Sting is there with the bat...again. Bat to the back of RVD. Sting pushes some refs as he makes his exit. Ref tries to get in his business some more so Sting strikes him in the gut with the bat. Another one tries so Sting nails him. Sting decides RVD hasn't had enough and goes back in side the ring. • Kevin Nash's music plays. Him and Eric Young are out now. Nash with a piece of paper. Nash grabs a mic and lets Hall and Waltman know he has a contract for them. The paper says Hall and Waltman have a one-shot deal to fight for TNA against Nash and Young at Destination X. He calls them out to the ring to accept the challenge. Tenay asks if they're even there and we get sent to a commercial.

Hall and Syxx Pac are seen entering through a door in the back. Tenay lets us know the confrontation is coming up next. After some more commercials.

We're back on Impact with Nash and Young in the ring. Nash calls out the bad guy. Tenay asks how they get into the bulding each week. Hall and Waltman are in the crowd doing a bunch of poses. Security climbs into the ring and Tenay says it's for security. Hall gets a microphone. HEY YO! Not enough marking from the fans. Hall says two-thirds of the legendary Wolfpac are in the building. Hall talks about the contract and says Hogan isn't running the "shizzow." Hall and Pac want in on TNA because it's starting to be cool. Hall says he wants a part of the cut. They want contracts. Nash says Hogan says the match is on and Hall asks if Easy E wants in on this. Bischoff appears on the TNA-tron and says if Hall and Pac win, they'll get their contracts. If they don't win, they're no longer allowed at the Impact Zone. Hall and Pac accept and Nash says he'll see them at the PPV. Hall says he'll be the one that looks like Elvis. • Patriotic music plays and the US Army make their way into the Impact Zone. They assemble on the ramp for Kurt Angle's entrance. Tenay discusses Angle's moment at Ft. Hood that turned his life around. Angle walks into the ring and the soldiers surround the ring. Angle puts over the soldiers for their sacrifices and all of that. He tells Mr. Anderson that he spit on the soldiers when he spit on the warrior medal. Angle says winning a gold medal is nothing compared to what the soldiers do. Angle says it's his duty to protect the soldiers when people like Ken Anderson degrade him.

Angle tries to end his promo and Mr. Anderson pops up on the TNA-tron. He says it isn't about the soldiers, it's about Kurt Angle and Mr. Anderson. Kurt Angle somehow pops up in the back and blasts Anderson in the face. Angle brings Anderson into the fan area and into the ring. Anderson nails Kurt with the warrior medal and tries to leave. Based on the rumors, WHO CARES about this show. I will take my chances with Raw. Atleast their booking is steady. I WILL however read the TNA results here, cuz I am curious what kind of abortion they will throw together.

By the way, why does Jeff Hardy show up both times TNA runs on Monday? Any takers on betting that they will not use him after this, YET AGAIN??!

Wonder how long till TNA gives up on the Hogan/Bischoff debacle? You cant tell me that many people are compelled by this garbage...

So the first five minute shocker is Hogan-Flair, I really hope there is a swerve and RVD or Hardy come out because LOL - Hogan/Flair -- I don't think so.

Sting heel? Or Sting pissed-off face?

If they explain it as Sting still being angry with Hogan because of the Death of WCW/the non-ending to their Starrcade match, it will be actually an interesting angle (with as much history as McMahon/Hart).

However, it probably won't work out that way.

TNA own the comments because they're the "underdogs" that people would like to see put up a fight.. although there's still a long way to go. BTW I'm a complete WWE fan who's flipping it back and forth.. I still don't buy TNA at all, but we'll see what they can give.

No, we merely have 3 owners. It isn't rocket science to understand, as much as you try not to.

    Or you're just a retard...

And I'm guessing the yellow folders from the January show will explain Moore's title shot... suggesting Hardy also gets a shot at something?...

    1) All you are doing is trying to troll someone, so there is your first mistake.
    2) There should be some clear leader as to who runs the booking, kayfabe, and that is what I meant. We all know Dixie owns the shit, except you, since you said that they were all owners. Dumbfuck. Now if they would make clear as which sections run what, IE Eric is in charge of X-Div, I wouldn't bitch so much.
    3) "We?" Since when did you fucking buy stock in this fucking company?
    4) Real fucking retards like you don't like to read the fucking truth, even if it's bashing TNA.
So what little insignificant retort do you have to come up with now? All you did was state that I am a retard, and went on another tangent over a meaningless Shannon Moore, as if that was really something people care about, whether or not you are a TNA fan.

Do you people that type about COMMENTS on a MESSAGE BOARD, really believe it is caused by TNA being better than WWE? Im not saying that WWE is amazing, however the facts are...

    1. More people are WATCHING WWE and checking TNA results on the internet (such as myself, I am on the WEST COAST and am reading the results here so I dont have to put up with switching back and forth).

    2. More people have gripes about TNA so they want to air them out! I havent been the biggest fan, but I was hoping theyd put up a fight against WWE when H/B came, but its turned into utter chaos.

Get the facts straight. TNA will do marginal numbers, WWE will do HUGE numbers. These people would still write with the same rapid pace, say, if ROH tried to make a Monday night run at WWE. Get off your high horses IE-tards.

    1) Troll? How so? You're acting as if 3 authority figures is too deep for you or the audience to understand. It's pathetic nitpicking.
    2) I'm pretty sure they've made it clear Hogan and Bischoff have bought into the company. The whole January show kinda revolved around that. I personally managed to understand the point when Bischoff was tearing up the schedule and proclaiming a new era. Dumbfuck.
    3) If you look at your comment I responded to, you'll understand my word choice. Then I assume you'll ask the same question to yourself?
    4) The truth? That some douche who evidently doesn't watch the show regularly can't comprehend the rather simplistic idea of having an owner of a company with two guys coming in and managing/booking it?

tna really does have a great roster of talent. too bad hogan and bischoff don't have a clue what to do with it.Build with their young stars, throw in Kurt Angle and a few other vets that can still go and forget about Hall, Nash, Nasties, Val Venis, et al.

Holy Shit! I REALLY want TNA to succeed, but they are sooo FUCKING FRUSTRATING! It brings to mind that saying, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

There's a reason there has been literally no TRUE growth in TNA's audience in MONTHS (if not arguably a year or so). Sure, they can pop the occasional rating here and there by convincing the audience that the latest "surprise" really will make a difference long-term. But as usual, all it takes a couple weeks before any audience that could have been gained realizes that it's more of the same frustrating, stupid-ass bullshit and the ratings drop back to normal levels. Swerves for the sake of swerves, has-beens, fucking retarded stipulations, short, meaningless matches, TERRIBLE announcing, worse acting, and just all-around intelligence-insultingly-bad television. Come on guys, get your shit together. WWE Raw is it's own shade of awful for the last few months too. Why not try something different and see what happens? Right now, it's embarrassing for anyone who has ever loved WRESTLING to think that you clowns have a national outlet for your frustratingly-shitty show.

You know, say what you will about ratings, because we all know Raw is going to have the higher rating, but can you that choose to pick sides instead of being neutral HONESTLY,HONESTLY say that Raw has been the best show tonight. Now, I'm def. not saying that Impact is hitting on all cylinders tonight because they're not, but the better wrestling show overall has been Impact IMO.

TNA is a failure tonight like it is every single week.

No one in the whole world cares about Mr INJURY who was fired by the WWE for his incompetence and being made of glass as well.

First off, fanboy? OK Internet nerd circa 2010... I have been involved with pro wrestling since 1994. Shit, I even started NEWSBOARDS for wrestling websites online. Ive interviewed and owned and operated some BIG websites Im sure you visit. So, go fuck yourself.

Secondly, if youve read any of my prior posts tonight, youd already read that I dont think WWE is all that special either. Sting is one step below Hogan as far as overrated AND washed up. You people mark out for a guy because of what he DID do, and not what he DOES do. People such as DX, can atleast still put on a great performance inside the ring, which keeps them relevant in todays landscape. Fanboy.

And yet you still feel you can actually use *that* to crap on TNA booking? Get some perspective, brother. Both shows have featured some questionable booking, but at least TNA aren't offering a show I could have quite accurately predicted beforehand based on the fact they've been doing the same show for well over a year now. *That's* why I'm watching Impact instead right now.

I am loving TNA. They are using wrestlers I know who are great on the microphone, with younger guys who can wrestle but are still pretty green. For someone who has watched wrestling for 30 years, this actually has me excited for a change. I know it isn't cool to say but I like watching guys such as Hogan, Nash, Hall, Flair. They may be old but they can still add to the product and know how to tell a story in the ring (unlike some highflyers who just flop around). These guys help keep me interested as I get to know the other wrestlers some of who are fantastic (i.e. Pope, Jay Lethal). Overall, I am going to tune back in for sure.

Disappointing show. Many production mistakes, which is inexcusable after this many years and makes them look third rate. They'll get a big number like on 1/4, but it's going to be a one-time deal. They can't load a show like that every week. WWE put on a normal show and will still crush their best effort.

I can't wait. Its almost time for hulk to win the bad. I'm glad my mom is letting me stay up late to watch hogan become the TNA World Heavyweight Champion!

    Hogan Hogan Hogan!

ROFL! Comment of the night. Pretty much sums up what you have to be to enjoy the Hogan era of TNA.

As much as I love Hogan and Flair, that was really abd tonight. They must never wrestle again. First time I've seen Abyss too. He was almost as bad as Hogan and Flair except they have the excuse of being old.

I have to agree that Sting turning on Hulk and Abyss was something I could see coming a mile away. I mean yeah, his appearance was surprising, but him turning on Hulk and Abyss, not so much.

Aside from 1 match (The X Division match), TNA failed to entertain me just like they will fail to force USA to cancel Raw and just like TNA will fail to put the WWE out of business forever.

Desmond Wolfe, he who was part of Bischoff's ring crew the other week, looking like a jobber, comes out to handle some business and look tough over Abyss... hmmm ok.

Jeff Hardy, last seen during an X Division match, comes out now to fight the top heel in the company? hmmm ok.

All we (being of the crowd that would enjoy some mild TNA success) would like to see is some continuity. That is ALL. Continuity from week to week. Atleast the WWE has continuity.

Word of the month for TNA... CONTINUITY.

Nice use of the "Hogan Head" rating system! It's surprisingly spot on. ...Secondly there is only one "Truth" and that is The "TRUTH"...ahem Hintity Hint Hint. I know its a sexy name but stop infringing!

Who are you? Besides, not all capitalized. I'm sure everybody can tell the difference. I hope anyway. Nice to meet you.

TNA had the better show tonight.

This was a bad day for wrestling. 4 hours of "wrestling" and both companies showed that neither of them are able to put on a good show...

If i have to choose between the 2, i probably choose TNA as the better show today, because they had some unpredictable things on the show. But just because TNA was "better" today, doesnt mean they were "good".

I just enjoyed flipping back and forth again. WWE clearly isn't trying too hard just selling Wrestlemania. But Raw ended with the owner winning a match and TNA ended with a wrestler winning. Just sayin..

Atleast they let Abyss pin Styles and not Hogan but it sounds like too much was going on.

I came out of retirement, to style and profile, and defile all over Spike TV! WhooooO! Thanks for the memory of a decent sendoff Shawn, but to be the man, you gotta beat the man... in TNA! WHOOOOO! I bleed like a stuck pig, then go back to the hotel room with all the ladies! WHOOOOO! WHOOOOO WHOOOO!!!!!!!!

I've never been a big TNA fan and could care less about the midget/X division as I am a WWE fan. I do want TNA to succeed in at least providing a viable alternative so I was planning to flip back and forth all night hoping to catch about half of each show, like the old days. Well, everytime I turned on RAW I changed it right back. RAW was absolute crap tonight. The Hornswaggle and Santino backstage stuff needs to be eliminated stat! Nothing on RAw made me want to keep watching that particular segment. TNA put on a solid show, but it was far from great. I expected a little better. It's definitely a far cry from the days of the original Monday night wars. Side note, I'd rather pay to see any combination of Hogan v Flair v Sting than Cena v anybody. Cena's the most overrated wrestler and promo guy ever. His promos are scripted for heaven's sake!
