Some Tuesday news…
- While both companies will deny it publicly, people in both companies were carefully watching the competition last night. The wrestlers more than anyone are hoping for a rebirth of the Monday night wars, because the more money that comes into the business eventually makes its way to them. [Credit: Pwinsider.com]
- Local advertising in Richmond, Virginia is promoting the three-hour Raw on April 26th as the Draft edition of the show. [Credit: Pwinsider.com]
- The TNA website is recognizing all three members of the Beautiful People as Knockout Tag Team Champions.
- WWE tapes both NXT and Smackdown tonight in Seattle, Washington.
- The Ultimate Warrior has replaced Ric Flair in the opening for Monday Night Raw.
- The March issue of MVP magazine features a cover story on WrestleMania coming to Arizona. You can check out that article here.
Regardless of which company you support, the simple fact is competition is a good thing. It spurs innovation, creativity, and keeps the writers and talent from getting lazy.

it isnt a war when one side's mindset is still stuck in the 90s.
that is like fighting the iraq war with viet nam strategies.
i want tna to succeed but having 50 year old men dominate your entire roster. they are asking for failure.
Posted By: jd (Guest) on March 09, 2010 at 01:22 PM
Maybe if 17 more people go to TNA, Randy Savage can get an Ooooh Yeah in there.

TNA is going to have to start booking for the long term if they want to compete. They need Heyman. People can dismiss that all they want but he is the only mind out there who has had success with a lot of that roster He worked with some of them in WWE as a booker and Mr. Anderson in OVW. RVD in ECW. You know he would know what to do with the x-division. He would protect the vets so they were only on PPV's in big programs. Build matches like AJ vs RVD to where people actually would pay to see it. Get it done TNA! Never happen with Hogan and Bisch there but it is the right move

WWE is going to have to keep changing that video because TNA is picking up all these people. I wouldnt be surprised to see Warrior on TNA before we see him at WWE.. I would love to see him go out there and shoot like Piper did a few years back.

Well in this Monday Night War, they better put on anstonishing entertainment to be greeted with everyone's hard working dollars.

The key word is eventually.

The Freebird rule, so Lacey's now a champ? Yikes!

Freebird Rule isn't any good when only 1/3 of the team can actually wrestle worth a crap. Thanks for ruining it, TNA. :/

Thee can't be a war when there are no new fans. People outside of those already into wrestling think of wrestling as a joke.
Posted By: Guest#3932 (Guest) on March 09, 2010 at 03:23 PM
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That's priceless. Flair deserves it
Posted By: Guest#5692 (Guest) on March 09, 2010 at 03:24 PM
Flair spit on his "retirement" so he deserves it. Hilarious!
Posted By: Guest#6291 (Guest) on March 09, 2010 at 03:25 PM
This is not a war at all. TNA is 10 times weaker than WCW and WWE is 10 times bigger today than it was during the last war. However, I think TNA can be a good thing for wrestling overall just by providing an alternative to WWE Raw.

Warrior in the HOF this year??

I agree. I don't mind that TNA calls it a "war" because they're the underdog trying to topple goliath. But its not really a war. In every aspect you look at it (except for opinion on which is better) WWE topples TNA big time.

Maybe, but as far as TNA is concerned, they have been competing with WWE for the last eight years, just not the other way around. That explains the piss poor product on one side but not the other.

Don't fire until you see the whites in their eyes!

I personall wouldn't mind a War reunion. Who can deny what a great tune "Why Can't We Be Friends?" is?
Posted By: Guest#0315 (Guest) on March 09, 2010 at 04:12 PM
I for one am sort of excited for the 'war". Mostly because this means that the promotion I watch (WWE) has to come up with some new ideas. I don think the WWE is afraid of TNA at all other than they know that guys like Jeff Hardy and RVD, despite being druggies, still draw. The only reason why I think this "war" is good, is because it will force the WWE to come up with some new ideas. And maybe, just maybe, it will add some freshness to the product which otherwise, seems a bit stale.

Was at the RAW taping last night and the Nature Boy Whoooo! was heard through out the Rose Garden every 20 minutes or so. They can take Ric off the opening credits but the Whoooo! lives on forever!
If you didn't want Flair to go to TNA you should have given him a bigger role in your company and not forced him into retirement.
Posted By: WHOOOO4LIFE!!!! (Guest) on March 09, 2010 at 05:04 PM
WWE is naive to think that they could control Flair's retirement (and, similarly, Foley's). There's nothing other than wrestling for these lifers and Flair doesn't have any major injuries. The E shouldn't be upset.
It's too early to call it a war. TNA is booking itself right now like WCW, wrecklessly going for pops by debuting newly acquired WWE talent wrecklessly (Val over Daniels, then releasing him, RVD). Eventually, at this rate, TNA will burn itself out and they aren't as deep pocketed as Turner was.
And yes, this war needs Heyman. He's a genius and whichever side can hire him and harness him, they will put together better (or probably the best) TV product.
Posted By: Bleh (Guest) on March 09, 2010 at 06:27 PM
i was hoping that tna put out a good product, but alas they did not. they still relied on old tired gimmicks which
doesn't do squat. hoped that i would spark wwe in putting out a better shows ala circa 90s...

Vince may hate Warrior but Warrior probably hates Vince and the WWE more so by using his image every week they probably figure that he'll get pissed off at them and it's their way of getting under his skin without him being able to do anything about it.

The Ultimate Warrior has replaced Ric Flair in the opening for Monday Night Raw.
When I saw this last night I marked the fuck out. I never understood why Flair stayed in the beginning so long and they yanked Hogan and Mick Foley who have both done way more for the WWF and its history than old man Flair who will always be viewed as WCW/NWA. I love ultimate Warrior he has done way more for the WWF not wrestling but the WWF and is a legend that anyone who was around during his time CANNOT DENY he was way more popular than Ric Flair and was more entertaining to watch. On a side note I was at Angelo Poffo's funeral and would love to see Randy back in the beginning he is in better shape than TNA's entire Main Event Scene. OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH YEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Posted By: Radtke (Guest) on March 09, 2010 at 09:36 PM
I just realized something.Ric Flair retired in Orlando at WrestleMania XXIV.Came out of retirement in Orlando at the iMPACT! Zone and ain't Florida where old folks go to retire? So Flair is still retired. He's just playing bingo in a retirement home.Seriously TNA, I don't want you to be a retirement home.
