Various News: HHH at WrestleMania, Tommy Dreamer Update, More

What's Tommy up to?
- WrestleMania weekend is turning into WrestleMania Week. Roddy Piper was recently announced as performing at the Tempe Improv in a stand-up show called "Roddy Piper & Friends," which will take place on March 24 (Wednesday). You can get more information here. [Credit: PWInsider]
- Tommy Dreamer is now accepting appearance and wrestling booking through Bill Behrens and sbibookings.com.
- Last night HHH mentioned in his promo that everyone who faces him at WrestleMania goes on to win a major world title. Here are more details on that: In actuality, just facing Triple H at WrestleMania guarantees you a major world championship, with 1 exception. Since, WrestleMania XVI every person but one Triple H has faced at WrestleMania has gone on to win a major world championship. At WrestleMania XVI, Triple H defeated Mick Foley, The Rock and Big Show. Mick Foley had to go to TNA to get his World Championship, but they all would get another run with the world championship. At WrestleMania XVII, Triple H lost to Undertaker, who has had numerous runs with the title since then. At WrestleMania XVIII, Triple H defeated Jericho, a current World Champion. At WrestleMania XIX, Triple H defeated Booker T, who would go on to win a world championship. At WrestleMania XX, Triple H lost to Benoit in what would be Benoit's only world title reign in a match with Shawn Michaels. Michaels is the lone "failure" among the list of opponents Triple H has faced in the last 11 years. Michaels has not won a major world championship since WrestleMania XX. At WrestleMania XXI, Triple H lost to Batista, a reigning world champion. At WrestleMania XXII, Triple H lost to John Cena who has held the world championship many times. At WrestleMania XXIV, Triple H lost to Randy Orton in a match with John Cena. Cena is less then 1 month removed from his last title reign. Orton has also held a world title multiple times since that match. At WrestleMania XXV, Triple H defeated Orton, who in the past year has held a world title multiple times since that match.
HHH said no such thing, those that defeated him have become the "big dogs".

Well I guess they're exempt because both had already won world titles before.

He's faced Ultimate Warrior (lost), Goldust (won), Owen Hart (won), Kane (lost), Rock/Foley/Big Show (won), Undertaker (lost), Chris Jericho (won), Booker T (won), Benoit/HBK (lost, but to Benoit), Batista (lost), John Cena (lost, Orton/Cena (lost), and Orton (won).

Dear Tommy:
We are holding a wrestling event on March 28th. We are looking for a special guest referee only.
Please bring A). A referee's shirt and B). the trampoline (ours is missing a couple of springs).
We don't have any money, but there should be lots of KD and hot dogs for supper.
Could you also bring $8? (because we're going to order Wrestlemania afterwards)
Thanks!

The sad fact is that HBK has been very deserving of a WHT/WWE championship reign but the WWE never seems bothered with giving the belt to him. Can you imagine how powerful the Undertaker/HBK match would have been at WM 25 if it had been the Undertakers streak vs. HBK title.

What about Goldust, Owen Hart, and Kane?
Posted By: JWS (Guest) on March 09, 2010 at 06:52 PM
More specifically, he said that those who beat him go onto bigger and better things. Those who lose, go back to obscurity and have to claw their way back up. The latter is definitely true for Booker T and Kane. Chris Jericho wasn't even booked on the post-WM PPV that year, even though he had been the defending world champion. And even though Orton won the title the following month last year, his white hot momentum was stalled beyond repair.

lol goes to show you how crappy Wrestling Observer and all these other things are. They can't even report correctly on what was said in a show and facts that are widely available to everyone, how much can you trust anything else they say that isn't confirmable?
Same idea with politics, philosophy and other theory exercises in general. Since it's not proveable you can say anything you want and just perpetually argue. Note however you can't do that in sports a lot of the time, hence why these guys can't make a transition from politics commenting to sports, as Rush Limbaugh tried. Actual numbers undo bullshit every time.

Kind of easy when most of those matches were for a WORLD TITLE.

hbk beat hhh at elimnation chamber in 02 for world heavyweight title

Shawn fought HHH in a triple threat, so I guess that's what the writer meant.
Posted By: Guest#3690 (Guest) on March 09, 2010 at 07:46 PM
Um, all that means is that everyone gets World Titles now.
Of course every one of HHH's opponents has won a title. If you're in a match with HHH at WM, you're pretty high up on the card. Everyone high up the card gets a turn with one of the titles. What's the point?

WMXX with Benoit...triple threat

With HHH win /loss record at mania, I dont see how everybody says he holds the talent down.
He lost 4 out of his last 5 mania matches. How is that not putting talent over?

Posted By: Guest#3688 (Guest) on March 09, 2010 at 06:31 PM

you see, triple faced benoit and michaels in what they call, "a triple threat"
michaels was in the same match as them, and he lost. since then he has not won a title. :)
the point of this little tid bit is that everyone except HBK has gone on to win the big championships
:)

In his promo on trying talking on a bigger name at Wrestlemania only to lose so he clawed his way back up he was referencing his loss to Ultimate Warrior

Shawn has been offered the belt many times. He doesn't want it. It's as simple as that.

Owen Hart?

Exactly and the reason why HBK doesnt want it-he doesnt travel enough to warrent the belt being on him..and he believes his time as champ has come and gone.I gotta respect HBK for his decision
Posted By: The Reaper (Guest) on March 10, 2010 at 06:44 AM
Owen never became a big deal or a major world champion. WHERE'S YOUR GOD NOW?
