Former NWA Tag Team Champion Francois "Corsica Joe" Miquet Passes Away

The following was issued by Bill Behrens on behalf of the National Wrestling Alliance:
The NWA mourns the passing of NWA Hall Of Fame wrestler, Francois Miquet also know as Corsica Joe who died in Nashville, TN on 3-14-10 at the age of 90.
Joe and his tag team partner Corsica Jean were inducted into the NWA Hall of Fame in 2008 at Phillips Arena in Atlanta, GA. The team held the NWA World Tag Team Titles (Mid-America Version) 5 different times from 1957-1959. The team was also 2 time NWA Southern Tag Team Champions (Georgia version) in 1965.
Joe was married for 43 years to professional wrestler Sara Lee who died April 5, 2008.
Both Joe & Sara appeared for NWA TNA on the early weekly PPVs.
All of us here at 411mania would like to pass along our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Miquet.
Corsica Joe and Corsica Jean are just funny names.
I wonder if him and lady wreslter bride ever had a few very sexy "matches" in their own bedroom!

Damn. this is crazy, i just heard he was close to signing with TNA, and being an important fit in the X-Division.

Flame me if you want, but I'm getting pretty sick of the 411 comment sections. Had you posted a story of "Francois 'Corsica Joe' Miquet shoot interview," you'd have 100 people commenting and saying "Who?" But you replace "shoot interview" with "passes away" and suddenly you have 100 people who watched him and want to say RIP. I understand wanting to send condolences, but I don't understand why people suddenly care so much about someone dying when two days ago they didn't care at all about that person living.

It is sad what has happened to Corsica Joe.
The WWE should be ashamed of themselves for not trying to do something to take care of Corsica Joe.
After EVRYTHING that Corsica Joe did for the company in terms of risking his body and health night in and night out performing for fans.
Instead of helping Corsica Joe fight his demons, The WWE releases him from his job, causing him to lose his paycheck and further increase his problems in life.
The WWE is an absolute disgrace!

First of all, I SAID R.I.P. To Corsica Joe, but you conveniently left that part out and put your own R.I.P. to Corisca Joe to try and replace me.
Also, I at first made a lewd post about what Corsica Joe and Corsica Jean did as a "tag team" in a "handicap match" against a "very pretty lady." But that never got posted, and I learned my lesson.

Like I said, I understand when people want to send condolences. But if you've visited 411mania for a long enough time, you'll see that many news items of former wrestlers dying will incur comments of people saying so and so was a legend and will be missed, when those same people had no clue who he was a week ago. Not all of them, but most of them.
