It'll get a higher rating than monday

It got a replay on Thursday last week.

Wow. Desperate move.

There were only about 30 tweets from everyone on their roster about how there WAS NOT going to be a replay anymore. Way to continue to look bush league.

Posted By: r0ach (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 07:56 PM

Good move, seeing as they obviously lost some viewers to a loaded Monday Night RAW this week. Be interesting to see if they gain those viewers back when Stone Cold Steve Austin aint guest hosting on RAW.

The show so nice we're gonna shit on it twice, TNA Impact.

How about some fucking good WRESTLING, hot ANGLES, and compelling STORYLINES that don't make me want to blow my head off?

Oh sorry I forgot we're talking about the Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff show, 10 years after it failed the first time. Fuck.

A wise decision. If they can pull a 1.0+ on thursday they can still claim it was a good week.

Im a fan of TNA and WWE, but this is one of the reasons their doing so bad.. Same thing with the X Division Epics. They kept moving it around saying this day then that day and I almost missed it because I thought they werent going to show it. You cant go back and forth and say their will be a replay then there wont because you'll just confuse everyone and no one who actually wants to watch your show, will because they dont know its on... GET IT TOGETHER

Posted By: Alfredo Lara Jr. (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 08:05 PM

in the hopes that someone, anyone, will watch it :p

Posted By: TheOutcast (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 08:08 PM

This is probably the only way the Monday Night TNA Impact will beat WWE in the ratings, by beating WWE Superstars. It worked last week.

Posted By: oh great (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 08:16 PM

The Good:

TNA will likely get a big number again for SpikeTV.

The Bad:

They already said it would not replay iMPACT, so to turn around and now air the show after all is going to turn into a 'boy who cried wolf' situation.

initially, i say smart thinking, but on second thought-it just says that they will do this every week, which means no reason to watch impact on mondays....(sighs)

Scramble scramble scramble scramble scramble

Posted By: TNA (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 08:28 PM

Tna should move back to Thursday nights anyway but still live one week and taped the next. They r not ready to compete with the WWE.

Posted By: dam (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 08:37 PM

They did that because the rating on Monday were soooo bad that they wanna see if ratings will be higher on the replay thinking maybe people coundnt watch Monday

Posted By: Iceberg (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 08:43 PM

so yea, less people can watch.

Posted By: big perm (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 08:44 PM

that makes no sense to me, part of the reason some people didn't watch impact! is because they expected a thursday replay.

Posted By: Brett (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 08:44 PM

Maybe if TNA can get three or four more timeslots from Spike, they can reply Impact all week and garner a decent rating?

Posted By: Guest#1690 (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 08:46 PM

Who the hell follows tweets from wrestlers?

Posted By: J-Dizzle (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 08:59 PM

How desparate to say there is no replay just to get you to watch an already taped show. In the words of Paul Orndorff this is 2nd rate this is bush league.

Posted By: Radtke (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 08:59 PM

gets a higher rating thursday-tna then please move back to thursdays it's a better buisness move

Posted By: sap (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 09:03 PM

Remember they are going head to head against the Wrestlemania buildup...had they started Mondays last June I dont think they would have faced such an uphill battle..but still Id rather watch old STARS than WWE's no-names that they are shoving down our throats. And that is the problem...not since The ROCK, STONE COLD, and GOLDBERG has there been anyone who has been elevated to a Star...even Edge seems like a bush leager...

Posted By: testing123 (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 09:06 PM

I assumed they said there would be no replay this week because they saw how awful the show was when they taped it.

And nothing on this episode was worth showing or seeing twice!

Posted By: Trashy (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 09:06 PM

So what is TNA idea? Add the rating son the replay on thrusday and the TNA on MOnday to get an overall rating LOL I mean after all it's the same show 0-0 maybe than they can get at least a 1.2 ~

Or are they trying the audience viewing to see if they should have never left Thursdays and the niche audience !

Alothough i jest i am a big TNA fan - makes me ill the lack of support they are getting from wrestling fans~ I see more wanting them to fall on their faces than to succeed! All the while eagerly gobbling up the shit WWE hand forces down their throats!

it amazes me how they bash TNA yet swallow with glee the puttied garbage has to offer !

Posted By: Guest#2921 (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 09:39 PM

so not only are they booking the show on the fly, now they're airing it that way as well?

Posted By: Jake Fury (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 10:08 PM

I'll give them a shot AGAIN

Posted By: TheRev (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 10:18 PM

Well you can also watch a replay anytime if you just go on Spike TV's web site. (Which I guess is where I'll watch it if they actually get rid of the Thursday replay.)

Posted By: notsoheavyd (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 10:34 PM

Why dont they stop using Twitter as a way to break news/promote their show? If you want to promote your show, use the TELEVISION!

"it amazes me how they bash TNA yet swallow with glee the puttied garbage has to offer !

Posted By: Guest#2921 (Guest) on March 17, 2010 at 09:39 PM"

TNA is just as guilty with the crap they put out as well.

You wanna know why some fans want to see TNA fail? Because with all the big talk about "competition" and "Monday Night Wars", TNA is not doing a damn thing to make people take them seriously!

Just because they lasted nearly 8 years and moved to Mondays doesn't mean all the pieces will fall into place.

TNA needs to make GOOD shows to make that happen. Sure, RAW had Austin, but if WWE would try, they would bury TNA.

With that fact, I have to ask: As bad as WWE can get sometimes, why is it so damn hard for TNA to actually do better?! Get some damn patience, build your matches properly, and (surprisingly) offer good WRESTLING!

Posted By: Well, its true! (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 11:35 PM

Really? Because my TV listing for 9pm tomorrow night on Spike says The Predator is supposed to be on. I guess we'll see.

Posted By: Jefferson D'Arcy (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 11:52 PM

Hahaha, the white flag is halfway up the mast!

TNA will never succeed. How do you screw up Hogan vs. Flair, ever? Why would you pair a hick like AJ with Flair? The entire show is a bloody mess that doesn't make any sense and is BORING.

Posted By: RDog (Guest)  on March 17, 2010 at 11:54 PM

As long as fans like it.

It's all too cool.

I liked Dixie's Epics commentating. Taz was great also along with talent interviews. For once, it'd great having a choice.

Keep pushing. Maybe Vince can flip burgers and give something else to the fans that help build his empire. Go ahead Vince, flip burgers and serve the fans. Show us you care and dare. If Jeff can do it, so can you.

Well you know something brother, we've gotta take the battle to those guys up North evry which way but lose. Now we have Raw on the ropes we've gotta make sure Smackdown loses the battle on Thursday nights by forcing it to stay on Friday night. Wrestling fans will soon get bored of the same old tired wrestlers and that ripe for retirement dead dude, they'll switch to Thursday nights for my fresh take on TNA with guys like OJ, Hall and Xpac. Forget Smackdown vs Raw for your Atari, this year it'll be Impact vs Impact Replay

I will be CGI'd into Thursday's program to boost ratings....

Didn't appreciate the Bait and Switch, number one; on the other hand, you have to saturate it as much as you can. At least this way TNA is guaranteed some more viewers and possibly the viewers from Monday.

When isaw the replay on last week I had the thought ,this is the first step towards defeat in the Monday Night War against Vince.

Posted By: Guest#8585 (Guest)  on March 18, 2010 at 03:48 AM

I can see why they doing this, moreso probably for Spike who have taken the hit.

but i'd much rather they tried to get one further show, say a 1 hour show on a thursday and just use that whole hour for pure wrestling

If as mentioned they coudl showcase the talent instead of the storylines it may attract people to watch, but like with Raw the main show has to be storyline focused for the PPV, but a small show with just 2-3 wrestling matches and a short re-cap of impact would be good i think.

First off, Hogan needs to stop talking about changing everything, just do it. He needs to bulk up and turn heel. Then get some new faces in there, not scott "wasted" hall and six "skinny" waltman. Create something new, and use the old guys as mentors, managers, comentators or don't use them at all.

This week's program made no sense, I think they are trying so har to come up with something that they get stuck, and then just go with the same old shit.

RIP TNA

This should be a regular deal really, their last replay drew almost the same rating as the first run... and my guess is this reply will draw better than the firts run.

I know a lot of people that watched Raw to see Austin and just read TNA online as it was taped. I'm almost certain next weeks iMPACT will draw better as it's live but the following taped week will flop again.

Posted By: D (Guest)  on March 18, 2010 at 05:44 AM

They are making the right move by going against the E on Mondays and catching their core on Thursdays. I think the mistake in their thinking is that there is a larger audience out there who'll tune back into wrestling if given an "alternative" to WWE-PG. There isn't a pool to tap into. WWE audience IS the pool. I'm absolutely certain that a portion the TNA audience is also the WWE audience. They'd watch RAW on Mondays and tune into Impact on Thursdays. The pool is shallow, more so than ever before. I don't know enough about Nielsen ratings to know but it would be interesting to see, if there is data available on individual level, how much overlap there is. Who's the guy on 411 to get that info, Prag ?
The people who used to watch wrestling during the WWF/WCW have been tuning into other things, mainly MMA.

Doesn't Vince show his fans that he cares by offering them stock in his company? I'd say making your company public is bigger than flipping burgers =P

Posted By: Jamal (Guest)  on March 18, 2010 at 07:42 AM

I wonder if the replay is there so they can pull the plug on the Monday experiment without really disrupting the audience. I think if they move back to Thursday, cut unneeded new/rehashed talent such as Hall, Orlando Jordan, Pac etc. They could get back to being closer to a business model that was profitable, push long standing TNA guys, use a few new guys, and then maybe use Flair and Hogan's name to help with international sales and shows. I think if they fail to do this TNA will be on sale by the end of 2010 and Vince's video library will be growing again.

'Scramble' is right!

Posted By: Ryushinku (Guest)  on March 18, 2010 at 09:08 AM

If TNA is so ready to jump into the deep end and compete with the big boys on Monday night, then do it. Don't keep reshowing Impact on Thursdays and puffing out your chests and boasting how you're going head-to-head on Mondays with the WWE, TNA. If nobody watches on Mondays, and the Thursday replay gets solid ratings, maybe you're not ready to go against WWE just yet.

Posted By: Double T (Guest)  on March 18, 2010 at 09:47 AM

Why is this so important? So what if they show replays? Up here, they replay RAW Tuesday afternoon. What's the big deal?
