WWE News: John Cena to Nickelodeon, St. Louis Wants WrestleMania, More
Posted by Larry Csonka on 03.30.2010
Plus Bill Simmons discusses WrestleMania…
- On April 3rd, John Cena will have a cameo appearance on Nickelodeon's True Jackson VP, which will air at 8:30 PM that night. On the show, Vivica A. Fox and Willow Smith make special appearances, playing True's mother and young True, respectively. Meanwhile, Ryan (Matt Shively) and Jimmy's (Robbie Amell) preview screening of John Cena's new action movie turns into an all-night adventure when their hero Cena surprises the audience by showing up, giving Ryan and Jimmy the thrill of their lives when he brings them to the set of his next movie and later, to a celebrity hockey game.
- Bill Simmons has an entertaining look at WrestleMania here.
- St. Louis also wants to host a WrestleMania in the future.
- Pete Rose was on the Howard Stern Show today, and discussed WrestleMania. Here is a recap from that part of the show…
"Howard said he saw two great YouTube moments with Pete. He said in one clip he was in a WWE event and the crowd was cheering him on. He said Pete gets on the mic and tells the people of Boston that they're idiots because they beat them. Then the crowd turns on him. Howard said he thought they were going to beat the s*** out of him after that. They were booing him after he did that. Pete said he just hosted a Monday Night Raw show recently too. He said he has fun doing that."
True Jackson's actually one of the better, more recent Nickelodeon creations. Keke Palmer has a bright future ahead of her.

The link to St. Louis article goes to the Sports Guy piece (hey where'd you get that idea?).
Please fix it so a Metro-Easterner can read about how we want but will probably never get Mania. Thanks.

VINTAGE SPORTS GUY!

Simmons article was somewhat funny...especially with his annoyance of Striker. I don't think Cena has ever taken 4 months off for a movie, rarely see him miss a RAW unless injured or flipping a coin at a football game.

WM at Busch Stadium... I LIKE IT!

It's about time St. Louis gets Wrestlemania. Wrestling at the Chase was only one of the biggest venues in the country for a long time. The new Busch Stadium sounds like a great idea.

They can't do it at Busch, are you nuts? The weather would never cooperate. I think it was in the low 40s Sunday night. I agree that Baseball Heaven would make for a great atmosphere, but let's be realistic here.
Edward Jones Dome. Or whatever they call it these days.

Notice the poster in the link to the St. Louis article... It appears to have Cena and The Rock headlining WM XXVI...I guess those plans never panned out obviously.

Bill Simmons is pretty hilarious. Sounds like one of the writers from this site if he actually knew how to be funny and put together an article.

Loved Simmons' article on WM. Pretty much spot-on throughout. Though he did miss the funniest moment of the night, IMHO: after Cena's victory, where he posed with the group of Cena-haters in the front row and let them yell and scream at him while he got a big shit-eating grin on his face. I'm not a huge Cena fan myself, but I thought that was absolutely hilarious. He would make such a magnificent heel.

Good god, Simmons is just terrible.
That hack is just one of the reasons that espn.com has become a disaster of a website.
Just my opinion.

What does St. Louis care about Mania? They're hosting Lockdown!!!!
Posted By: Joe (Guest) on March 31, 2010 at 02:40 PM
St. Louis will never get Mania because Vince can't afford to have all the divas raped in killed in some back alley in filthy St. Louis.

bwhahaha...Simmons just totally trashed Striker!!!
"1:17: Triple H pins Sheamus. Half-decent match that seemed rushed. That doesn't stop Striker from calling it "a classic" and gushing, "The triumph of wills, the triumph of spirit, the triumph of Triple H!" He's worse than Lord Alfred Hayes, Dusty Rhodes and Steve McMichael combined. If there was a God, he'd be fixing a headset cord under the Spanish announcers' table tonight right as two wrestlers plunged through it."
p.s. I really don't think Striker is too bad. Sheamus/Triple H definitely wasn't a classic although it was indeed pretty decent.
