This sucks, because that clues you into the fact that rather than look at a .58 and realize how awful they are, they're just going to blame HBK's retirement and change nothing.

She say's hopefully like he can't wrestle anymore. Considering her company is full of guys who are at Shawn's age or older and none of them can go anymore it just seems like a ridiculous way to word that.

What she meant was "Thank God WWE doesnt have anything else planned for ratings other than that"

Posted By: Major Obvious (Guest)  on March 31, 2010 at 01:01 PM

Yeah Dixie it was all HBK
Last week they drew 0.9 or whatever and Raw only drew 3.2.
That means Raw lost about 0.5 from when Austin hosted
So why didnt those 0.5 go and watch Tna? Why didnt Tna draw 1.6?
The low rating is because it is a bad product in my opinion. I mean Raw drew 3.7 a few weeks back and back then Tna was drawing 1.0

TNA will die you naive bitch! TNA is terrible!

While she did the right thing by praising Michaels, you need to read between the lines. She is purposely avoiding addressing the poor Impact rating because there is NOTHING positive to say about it.

Dixie Carter needs a shove in the backside. She is a deluded individual who is sitting around, playing on Twitter and Facebook while she lets Hogan and Bischoff run her company into the ground. Dixie is basically a cheerleader for TNA at this point. The bitch is NOT the boss, she gets trampled all over and is being manipulated.

I supported TNA from its early days in Nashville in 2002 up till Christmas/New Year 2009. Despite some of the stupidity that went on, Dixie finally took control last summer and made some really good changes in the product. Signing Hogan=100 steps backwards!

And where are the ratings?? Where is the history making she promised? The booking of TNA has been nothing short of horrendous and frankly it deserves all the shit it's getting.

This isn't WWE kicking TNA's ass. TNA is kicking its OWN ass.

Dixie, grow a spine and take back your company or continue to watch it burn to the ground because pretty soon it will be in ruins.

Next week, TNA will try and top HBK's final match when Abyss fights Ric Flair in his "final match". Abyss will grab Flair by his throat, and scream "I'm sorry, I love you", before chokeslamming him through the ring.

excuses excuses excuses... go continue to suck on Hogan's old wrinkly Dick dixie, TNA = epic fail.... and for any TNA mark that is stupid enough to think that TNA would sign HBK, you all need help cause your have mental problems.. HBK is retired, but if he were to come back it would be to WWE and be with his best friend HHH again not no pathetic piece of shit company like TNA which will ultimately go out of business soon.. i actually expect HBK to return once he is done with his break and his kids have grown up and he will go to WWE, especially around that time TNA won't longer exist anyways, even if for some strange reason it did, HBK would still choose WWE over TNA.. there is such thing as being loyal and HBK is loyal to WWE as it has been known for a long long time now...

FFS always some excuse! Why cant she just realize that she doesnt know how to run a company!
Maybe she is just too nice to all of the employees when she should be busting balls.
TNA has a lot of great talent but awful writers/bookers.
She can still own the company but she should at least have someone who knows what they are doing to run it.
Seriously pathetic.

Perhaps if she starts treating TNA like a serious business and make wrestling a 100% commitment (like Vince does with WWE) rather than a pet project then things might change. For a start stop messing around on networking sites because honey you ain't in college!! Her professional ambitions were fulfilled when Vince McMahon acknowledged TNA last week (the "tawdry" comment).

with that twitter comment, i rest my case. TNA=BUSHLEAGUE Candlepin bowling gets a higher rating that that when it plays at 3am on a Friday night. The proof is in the ratings, people don;'t watch TNA they watch WWE PERIOD.

For the love of god, what's she going to blame next week?

For the last time TNA: You kicked off the year with a 1.4. Last monday you had less than 50% of that initial audience. Did Raw do a composite 4.5 this week? No. That means people aren't tuning out Impact to watch Shawn retire: They're tuning out Impact because what you're doing isn't working.

This is not coming from a WWE zombie who wants TNA to fail on general principle. I'd like them to succeed. WWE fans, cheering for the demise of TNA is counterproductive. Look at the facts: Just the NOTION of competition forced Vince to give us the best WrestleMania build up we've seen in years. Imagine what real competition could do!

But at the same time TNA loyalists, you need to come to terms with the fact that what your chosen promotion is dishing out is largely unwatchable. Every time I flip to see what Impact is up to, I'm given no incentive to stay there. Do you think I WANT to watch Rob Cordry in a hot tub? No! But then I watch Impact, and it takes me about 5 seconds to decide that for next 15 minutes, I won't watch wrestling and do the dishes instead.

The creative direction of TNA needs to change. The date of Impact needs to switch back to Thursdays. And Dixie Carter needs to come to grips with reality before she WCW's herself out of business.

Posted By: Jay Evans (Guest)  on March 31, 2010 at 01:42 PM

No wonder they moved to Monday nights, now they can make up more excuses as to why their ratings are a failure, instead of stating the obvious that their booking team is a joke and their show has for the most part been overrun by Bischoff and Hogan and their "yes" men, and a bunch of old farts that shouldn't be in the ring anymore because their knees/hips/backs are all busted up and they can hardly move.

I'm not biased by any means but this broad is absolutely clueless. You don't run a wrestling company like you'd run a toy store or a convenience store, you stupid cow.

I'm with you Dixie. I'm not a WWE fan in the least and I was glued to Raw. Watching anything Bret related is always reason to tune in, and as much as I've always hated HBK, he made a big fan of me with a classy speech. I'd miss any main event for that live piece of wrestling history.

TNA is on the right track. NO MORE NASTY CRIPPLED OLD "BOYS". Some of their stuff will take time and some is crap and needs to go.

Was nice to see Jay Lethal on the show, but then crap when he had his match. Pope could change his name to the American Pope as hard as he's trying to be Dusty.

In the end they most need a bigger building for tapings. Hard to take them as serious as WWE when the show always looks like it's in a high school gym. WWE has done a good job of increasing the wide angle shots of the thousands of people at their shows.

Vince,
I'd recommend you re-package Bubba, or Knobs per Hogan's suggestion, as the new Vader clone and have him bust through a wall with some sparklers in his hands and a helmet on. Would be classic. Vintage. Can't miss.

If that doesn't work...hmmm...ok, get Buff Bagwell back on a 90 day contract and bring Chaz back in too. Oh, wait. Those guys aren't Hogan floozies.

Ok, get Brutus the Creepcake to come in and have him run through the X division. Then have Hernandez come back and have Morgan throw him through a window on the barber shop segment. Brutus -vs- Morgan at next PPV=GOLD. Add Rhino as the special enforcer, but never explain why, then release him as he should have been released years ago mid-match. SWERVE!

Why Dixie is blaming HBK for her shows ratings I have no idea.

Raw did the same rating as when Stone Cold hosted and IMAPCT!'s rating went down again!

Do the maths and look at the shows! who wants to see Hogan, The Wolf Pac and Ric Flair wrestle anymore!

TNA should be all about the young guys and not about nostalgia! leave that to the indy tours that happen all over the world!

Wow, even when putting forward a modicum of respect, she still manages to insult the man. Her ratings are poor because of her product. She has no right to insult HBK because the man can outwork any of her guys. In fact, HBK only got better as he got older. I was terribly sad to see he's retiring, but I hope he enjoys life with his kids.

"Thank goodness he can only retire once...hopefully. Shawn, congrats on an amazing career!"

What she meant was

"Thank goodness he left WWE. He will only retire with us...hopefully he returns my phone calls to take over TNA along with Hogan and Bischoff. Shawn, congrats on an amazing career!"

Does anybody have any clue how well tickets for LOCKDOWN are selling??? I have not heard anything about that. Which actually might be good because usually the only news about non Impact Zone ppv we hear is how poorly the ticket sales have been(IE The Palace in Auburn Hills)

I'll debut in a few months time after Vince gets tired of my tranvestite look. I will attempt my gymnastics rings entrance and get re-injured. I'll then do my ugly mammoth scream so people can cheer for me.

I hate people that can't stay off the injury list.

Hey Dixie, here is a little bit of free advice:

Quit with the goddamn excuses and do something to make your company better. Quit using the WWE as an excuse for low ratings.

"It's Wrestlemania time."

"It's HBK's retirement speech."

In a few weeks it will be:

"It's the WWE draft."

"It's the NCAA Basketball playoffs."

The end of the year, it will be:

"It's football season."

There is always some excuse as to why your ratings are so low, but it seems that it is never your fault, it is somebody else's fault.

Even the WWE doesn't use the "It's football season" excuse. Hell, the WWE held it's own during football season last year.

If you keep up with the delusions, you just might wind up deluding yourself out of business. And no, I don't want that to happen.

What I am even more interested is to see somebody give Eric Bischoff some more well deserved harassment on his facebook for this rating because while Dixie deserves a lot of the blame for not having a backbone, it is just as much his and Hogan's fault as they continue to let their obsession of putting the WWE out of business get in the way of trying to make TNA a better company and he needs to be royally called out on it.

Okay smartasses...let's have it out right here right now? What is so horrible about TNA at the moment? Seriously. I'm begging someone to give me a legitimate argument. Nasty Boyz are out, AJ is champion, X-Division has been getting more spotlight, Beer Money is on television almost every week now, Hogan isn't wrestling, Flair isn't wrestling, Mick Foley is off television. RVD and Jeff Hardy are a tag team and have main evented the past two weeks...

What's so horrible about TNA???

The Band? okay, that's one thing. And I'm pretty sure that people still mark out for them albeit not as many as in the past.

Tell me what's soooo bad about TNA?

Next week, TNA will try and top HBK's final match when Abyss fights Ric Flair in his "final match". Abyss will grab Flair by his throat, and scream "I'm sorry, I love you", before chokeslamming him through the ring.

Posted By: TNA Booking Team (Guest)  on March 31, 2010 at 04:10 PM

Dixie needs to take a long hard loo at her product and the booking, swallow her pride and go back to Thursday nights and re-build the company Russo/Bischoff and Hogan have destroyed. If I was Vince McMahon I'd move Smackdown to the same slot as Thursday night Impact and kill TNA off.

Posted By: JAK (Guest)  on March 31, 2010 at 04:13 PM

Well to be fair, TNA was airing a taped episode against a live, Night after WM RAW. But your points are still valid.

Let's actually do some homework...

Number of washed up/over the hill wrestlers in TNA that still compete on a weekly/monthly basis.

1)Scott Hall
2)Kevin Nash

O gee, would you look at that...if you actually look at who's ACTIVELY competing the roster (instead of just trolling and assuming) you'll notice that there are only TWO active competitors that probably shouldn't be on the active roster.

TWO!

So you mean to tell me that because of TWO wrestlers, you absolutely refuse to watch TNA???

Because of TWO wrestlers, you people claim that TNA thrusts old timers into the spotlight ALL THE TIME???

Let me get this strait, because of TWO wrestlers, involved in all of ONE in ring storyline, you people deem TNA unwatchable???

Wait, let me be perfectly crystal clear about this, dude. You mean to tell me that we just sat through 3 months of convoluted hype behind an old guy (albeit a legend) only for the payoff to be him putting Vince McMahon in the sharpshooter. All types of ridiculous swerves and double-crosses and car accidents and fake injuries. You mean to tell me THAT gets a pass, while TNA gets stoned and crucified for a free tv cage match????

TNA Impact last night was quality television. The only thing that can be seen as a lowlight was the Orlando Jordan thing...and depending on your perspective, I'm sure some people didn't even mind that all that much.

But wait...we have Hogan, Ric Flair, Bischoff, and the Wolfpac...ooohhh i see where all the hate is coming from. But wait, Hogan is backing Abyss, Flair is backing AJ, Eric Young is getting the upper hand on the Wolfpac AND running alongside JEFF HARDY and RVD. Bischoff is adding to Beer Money's heel personnas. So....the older guys are actually PUTTING OVER THE YOUNG GUYS!!!

But that isn't the same TNA that i see people constantly ranting about on here now is it!!!

Not a personal attack but just an opinion because I am wondering myself whats the problem. Will say though that with the advent of the internet everyone thinks themselves and expert booker for wrestling companies. And since they read every day, they think they have a pulse on what fans want. The problem there is they aren't every fan and the opinions differ. For TNA almost everyone agreed that prior to January they were on a steam roll of momentum. I did too, for as you point out now and even back then their home grown talent was carrying the company forward.

The brick wall that was hit that is giving everyone fuel to piss you and other TNA fans off is the inception of Hogan. Much like in WCW, he comes riding in on his high horse as if TNA was a sinking ship. It was far from that but thats how he treated it and has treated it. Fans yes still cheer Hogan but that will never leave. However for a company that was holding its own on a separate day Hogan was not needed. However Carter, Spike TV someone thought the big name of Hogan and Hulkamania is whats needed.

Now he comes in telling TNA that they need to move to Mondays, they need to move to Mondays. That move thus far has sort of cripppled the ratings although money wise I want to say they are still good with advertisers and all that. Then Hogan gets rid of their signature six sided ring, he then latches on to who he thinks should be challenging Styles, versus to the previous challengers that presented a hell of a fued for Styles the last few pay per view before hand. He pusts Styles with Flair when Styles was starting to look better on his own. The little things while people won't say it has been pissing them off. He sort of seems on track now but initially he seemed to not have a clue.

People don't want to say it honestly but, they don't like the fact that Hogan for all his talk isn't coming through fast enough with the vision he has for TNA. TNA fans that are loyal also watch Raw and quiet as they keep it most of them still watch it.

Thats been the norm for years Monday is Raw, thats a hard habit to break. Even WWE fans who wanted an alternative tuned into TNA on Thursdays but on Mondays Raw been solid for years now NO challengers(except football and dog shows lol). It became automatic nothing else on but Raw on Mondays. Those that wanted an outlet got it on Thursdays to watch and while it wasn't a high rating TNA had their fans and WWE fans watching. Hogan took it to Monday and found out the core fans are hard to break the habit of watching Raw. Its not that TNA sucks they just underestimated and its biting them in the ass for now atleast.

I used to be an avid TNA fan but stopped watching when so fat joe killed the x division single handedly and beat AJ three times in a row and CD 2 in a row ridiculous.

The best thing about the x division was that you never knew who was going to be champ the belt was defended regularly and at any given time you never knew who would win.

Hell check out the list of x division champs before so fat joe came in Kaz,Matt bentley,Pete Williams,Christopher Daniels,AJ styles, Chris Sabin & Amazing Red no i couldn't even tell you who the champion was

She say's hopefully like he can't wrestle anymore. Considering her company is full of guys who are at Shawn's age or older and none of them can go anymore it just seems like a ridiculous way to word that.

She said 'hopefully' to insinuate that TNA's low rating is due to his retirement.

The hopefully is more towards a "one time retirement." But you know how retirement doesn't always last forever - ala Flair.

TNA is headed in the right direction. It's just going to take a little time. They'll never be the juggernaut WWE or put them out of business but I do expect them to be a viable alternative in due time. Quit with the Dixie abuse people, she gave a respectful shout out to HBK on Twitter and acknowleded the low rating as well. Big deal...of course the rating is going to be a few points lower leading in to 'Mania and the show right after. Cut her some slack...geez.

Posted By: Tbone3771 (Guest)  on April 01, 2010 at 01:01 AM

A viable alternative? It has become obvious that TNA would much rather BE the WWE than they do the alternative to the WWE.

And that post by Dixie is indeed nothing more than a lame excuse for the bad rating TNA got.

TNA need to stop with the excuses and step it up more. I mean even during the original Monday Night War, neither Raw nor Nitro ever scored that low a rating.
