Eric Bischoff Says Jim Cornette Needs Psychological Help
Posted by Larry Csonka on 04.16.2010

- Eric Bischoff made some more comments, regarding the recent tirades by Jim Cornette. Here is what he had to say…
"Jim needs psychological help. I know it must be tough getting up in the morning and looking at yourself in the mirror and realizing you look like 240 pounds of sausage stuffed in a 12 ounce polyester bag....but Jim needs to move on. The television business passed him by many Big Macs ago."

"Kevin, threatening to kill someone, posting confidential corporate information, and posting terroristic threats doesn't make you a "genius" any more than criticizing the efforts/success of others when they realize that you have nothing to offer. Jim is a washed up, has been IWC icon to the 5% of the people that makes up a television audience."

ok...so this is a desperation-angle.

You know, sometimes it's best just to keep your mouth shut. Nobody benefits from these kinds of comments. In fact, comments like this could damage TNA's case. Eric Bischoff should be smarter than this.

Once a cunt, always a cunt.
I'm so glad I ditched TNA for ROH 2 months ago. Again, Bitchoff...irony...pot...kettle...black.

The IWC is much more important to TNA than the WWE so there are certainly more than 5% - hell, just look at Reaction's rating last week. It's not 2000, it's 2010, how many people don't have the internet? But there you were in 2000 making insider/smark jokes in April 2000 because you thought there were more smarks back then. Fucking genius.

Commenting on his weight Bishoff... way to scrape the bottom of the barrel with really no comeback relevant to the subject.

The one big thing I've noticed in Bischoff's attacks against Cornette is that he is also attacking the "IWC". Is it because these were the majority of TNA fans before he and Hogan came in? Or is it because they're the majority of ROH fans? But the reason doesn't matter. The fact remains is that he doesn't like people who prefer wrestling over "sports entertainment". This attitude will hurt TNA in the long run because I really don't believe there are enough "sports entertainment" fans to support two Monday night shows. Bischoff should be attracting new fans while still keeping the old fans. Chasing away the old fans without anyone to replace them is stupid.

Aaaaaaand here's another person (just like Cornette) who should spend more time focusing on HIS company than worrying about bullshit.

There's enough RELEVANT material in this situation to attack without resorting to fat jokes and name-calling. The higher ground is RIGHT THERE Eric, and of course you completely avoid to follow that.

"No one has any idea who Jim Cornette is except for the 1 in 3752964185367 fans who get online! NERDS~!"

That type of thinking wasn't even realistic in 2000. Oh, btw, can we get a another double order of Hogan and Sting plz? kthc

I am pretty sure that Bischoff would never say these things to Cornette's face. The whole thing is blown up the real jerk is Terry Taylor. Corny wrote a letter to him not the world. I know when I meal friends I write things I would want public. So I guess we know to never send Taylor something personal

so the guy who is delusional enough to believe that he is making positive changes to tna feels that cornette is the one who needs help because he vented, albeit in an inappropriate manner, to someone he thought was a friend?

i think bischoff needs to get a friend or two or just visit Dr. Irony.

ALL comments related to all of this show just how out of touch everyone is with realuty. And how everyone thinks they are more important than they really are. Cornette,Bishoff, now the IWC.

Pretty ironic state of affairs we have here. Also to the guy who said TNA would like to have that 5% right now, yea those 600 ROH PPV buys would really make a difference I guess. If ROH is the benchmark of the IWC influence I can safelt assume that Bischoff is correct on all accounts pertaining to them.

IWC is basically a bunch of freeloaders who dont spend money for ANYTHING, including PPVs. They scramble for free streams, and sit around all day commenting on shows they probably dont even watch. And pissing all over anything they think will make them sound cool. And I doubt too many of them live on their own so they probably wouldnt have a Neilson ratings box either. So really just what good or bad can the IWC (internet wrestling community) really do to any of these shows? Not a damn thing, because the IWC as a collective isnt nearly as influential as they like to think they are. All they can do is critique shit and let other non influential losers comment on it.

The IWC has been predicitng the 'end' of TNA (and othet hings for years) even had or followed boycotts , and guess what, it didnt even register as a blip on anyones radar. Simply because internet tough guys and degenerates dont really matter too much in the real world, if they did they wouldnt be online talkig about this shit so much they would actually be employe by a company that was at least related to it.

And if you want to call me hypocritical because I comment feel free. But mostly I make comments like this one. Criticizing the guys that think they know everything but really dont know shit.

TNA IS that 5%.

Go ask someone who doesnt go on internet wrestling sites what they think of TNA? They wont know what you are talking about. TNAs audience is the 20 or so people who live near by where they film and show up at every TNA taping. Added to that is a small percentage of the IWC wrestling fan. No casuals even have any idea what TNA is.

Terroristic threats? Give me a break. I know that (along with racist) are the cool buzz words to make someone appear to be a criminal these days but get over it. It was an angry guy venting, in an immature way.

The rest of EB post about how if TNA listened to the IWC than it would just be "vanilla midgets" WRESTLING for 45 minutes straight and no personality. Hm, seems funny how when thats what TNA was they had a larger audience than they do now with out the wrestling and with just characters.

How's WCW goin' fer ya there Easy E?

given that impact now that you've come in has been losing about 5% of its audience per week, perhaps it is time for you to shut the fuck up and stop pissing off the people who brought tna to where it was before your midget wrestling show went no where and you got hired on by dixie.

I have something to add, I am an IT professional, and I am in charge of an exchange server that hosts e-mail for well over 100 users. Under federal law I have the right to go throught every single peice of e-mail that comes or goes out of our server. I'm sure that any personal or work related e-mails that employees of TNA get have the chance to be screened as well. I don't think that Terry Taylor showed anyone the e-mail but i'm sure the TNA IT department got wind of the e-mail from a filtering program that picked up on some keywords in the original. I would assume that if it wasn't for that it probably wouldn't have gotten out in the open. Untill I hear otherwise I wouldn't really blame Terry Taylor for "leaking" the e-mail.

And in my opinion I think that Cornette is 100% correct in everything he has said. Vince Russo is a cancer on the wrestling business. Sure he had some success in the late 90's WWF but he also had Vince to filter his crap. I hope that Jeff Jarrett and Dixie Carter listen to their loyal fans who got them to Spike TV from the weekly PPV's and FSN shows we don't want 2 more hours of Sports-Entertainment we want classic wrestling Good vs evil with some tweeners. Give us 1980's quality NWA style not 1995 WWF quality. Jim Cornette or Paul Heyman would be perfect to bring TNA to the forground of wrestling in this Decade. I will not say that TNA will ever be number 1 but I want them to be a factor in making WWE better, and being a strong number 2. There is nothing bad about being number a strong number 2 if you have made your competitor become better in the process

hey, Bischoff is completely in the wrong for the following reasons...

1 - it has nothing to do with him
2 - he is using it to try and boost ratings by creating a buzz
3 - he is attacking the one group that helped TNA grow from weekly pay per views to a national television program

bischoff is creating controversy again, but this time by crapping on the people who kept tna alive for its first two years.

Cornette went too far with his email, no doubt about it. The problem is that instead of leaving Cornette alone to deal with it, Eric is rubbing it in to anyone that will listen. It's just pouring more fuel to the fire.

Real classy Bisch with the fat jokes and all. I'm glad you feel comfortable having no one on this Earth you didn't make money like you.

Second of all, what the hell do you know about producing televison these days. The company you work for goes up in cheers when you hit a 1.0. Hell, you're still using the same angles, workers, and booking style from 1996!

Bischoff's rant sounds a lot like the BS people on here write about weight and IWC lol.

Cornette was way out of line for what he did, but Bischoff's run in TNA hasn't done shit good for the company and ratings have DROPPED drastically.

They can both STFU.

"posting confidential corporate information, and posting terroristic threats" - Eric.

What terrorist threats?! Did Cornette say he will physically attack TNA? NO!

Also, he didn't post the email. Sure, he's posting about the current situation, but it isn't that confidential. Besides, with legal action actually being involved, it was bound to go public (like it or not).

Yeah, Cornette needs to calm down. But Bischoff needs to drop the subject before he gets into hot water.

'You can't joke with that. Just recently on the news, a man was sentenced to jail for threatening to kill Obama. Jim Cornette has been fired from every major wrestling company because he can't control his temper'

you do realise that it is illegal to threaten in any manner the life of the president of the united states or threaten in any manner the life of the president-elect or past presidents, and that it is such a serious crime that it has its own legal statute.

again, for the people who don't know the difference between terrorism and terroristic threats, here it is...

terrorism is any action or threat against a population

terroristic threat is any threat of death or egregious bodily harm to a person or to a person that will carry the threat to the victim.

technically, cornette's email was a terroistic threat, but as the TheRev said, cornette was just pissed and not a threat.

strictly speaking, if cornette were angry enough to really murder russo, he would have just murdered him instead of broadcasting it

you children really should ask your teachers the differnce between terrorism and terroristic threats, since they can use pictures to help you more and i cannot.

"I don't think that Terry Taylor showed anyone the e-mail but i'm sure the TNA IT department got wind of the e-mail from a filtering program that picked up on some keywords in the original."

Well, according to Cornette, part of the paperwork he received from the TNA lawyers included a printout of his e-mail showing that Taylor forwarded his correspondence to Russo. Regardless, while Cornette may have assumed that the e-mail was a private one between friends, it was idiotic of him to send it to a TNA company address for the very reasons you specified. Had he sent it to Taylor's private e-mail address, I doubt TNA would have even gotten involved.

Count me in the "these remarks help no one" column.

According to Wikipedia, Eric Bischoff is 54 years old. Think about that and read his remarks again. He's old enough to have grandkids and this is his level of decorum.

His belief that this sort of behavior will appeal to us is more insulting than the actual content of what he said.

His lack of professionalism laid the foundation for WCW's demise, and he's doing it again with TNA. When this is how management acts, you can't expect better from your workers.

Please Dixie, fire this guy before he brings down the company and sets wrestling back another decade.

If the IWC is so meaningless, stop having this flame war and go cut a promo in Impact instead.

Here is why we matter - we watch the shows like the non-IWC wrestling audience. But we give feedback. It isn't like those lost viewers (that whole ratings thing) didn't have opinions about what should be changed or didn't feel like watching was no longer worthwhile.

Ouch. When Bisch wants to slam you he will. Jim isn't as crazy as some people make him out to be, but he does come ass somewhat overly emotional and like he needs some basic anger management.

That said, Bischoff seems kinda dismissive of the IWC and seems self-righteous and smug (but then again, what's new?). And him commenting on Jim's weight is pretty hilarious in a hypocritical way.

And pissing all over anything they think will make them sound cool. And I doubt too many of them live on their own so they probably wouldnt have a Neilson ratings box either."

...do you really think ALL of us fit that description? That's your problem, pal. Not ours. I'm sorry that you think your hobby is filled with the lowest form of society, but don't take your self-hatred out on us.

KILL the word "IWC." Kill it dead. NOW. It's way too big of a community with a lot of diverse parts to paint everyone with the exact same description.

Seconded, MP. Because I certainly don't match this bitches idea of the IWC.

5% Really? It's strange how that percentage hasn't gone up in over 10 years.. Then again, it's fitting he would use such an old, out of date "statistic".

I remember TNA's PinchyTree incident. That should prove TNA has an internet audiance.
