WWE Continues NXT Angle At FCW Show
Posted by Larry Csonka on 06.10.2010

Credit: Paul Philbin and WrestlingObserver.com

The NXT invasion storyline continued at last night's WWE developmental show in Melbourne, Florida. The main event was scheduled to be The Miz and Daniel Bryan vs. Christian and Heath Slater but that didn't happen. The Miz's music played before the match but nobody came out. Christian came out next and talked about what happened on RAW, then called out Heath Slater. Slater talked about how everything was good to start off on NXT but then Christian wouldn't give him the answers so they lost the competition.

Daniel Bryan then ran out and attacked Christian from behind. The Miz came down next and fought off the Rookies with Christian. Miz proposes that they do a Pros vs. Rookies match. Miz cut a babyface promo with Christian and worked the match as a face.

The ending came when Miz and Christian were about to hit their finishers on the Rookies. All of the Season 1 Rookies rushed the ring and beat down Miz and Christian. The Rookies tore down the FCW ring before Bryan kicked Miz in the head and Slater hit the Killswitch on Christian. The Rookies left with the Pros laid out.

COOOOOOOL where can i see this? Isn't FCW taped?

Sounds like a good segment in theory, but I still think it seems a shame to do the double turn when The Miz was doing so well as the heel and Daniel Bryan was building up such momentum as the face.

Ummm...awesome.

awesome...waste this on a show basically no one will see

I'd want to see the video of Miz as a babyface. See how he does with it.

I have really high hopes for this angle. Probably too high hopes, only because it's been so long since there was something to be truly excited about with Raw

Haha, that's pretty damn awesome for an FCW show. Sounds a lot better than this week's NXT.

Theyll blow it with the first promo, watch.

NXT chants are getting louder and louder..nWo all over aagin. I think i like it

thing is Miz was already doing so well as a cocky arrogant heel, but hes still an upper midcard without a real shot at the top, he gets massive main event heat as well. If they turn him face, but let him retain his assholish cocky douchebag traits. Then it could be the one thing that sets him straight to the main events. Or it could send him spiraling down to shitsville.

As for the rookies, it's always easier to get young talent over as major heels than faces first. So this should give Barret/Danielson et al some real attention.

Not if they have Wade Barrett continue to speak for them.

this is a very good angle, and i think the miz cutting a face angle is only because it's in fcw yell

in a word....YES!

all you WWE haters can go suck it. this is awesome! go watch your stupid bush league Tawdry shitty TNA. oh yeah that's right, you won't. that explains why TNA's ratings have been sucking for months now. WWE = Main Stream. TNA = bush league. Fuck TNA! TNA only pushes old washed up hasbeens. hogan, russo, and eric are raping TNA in the ass. their raping TNA of all it's goodness. TNA = fail. TNA will go down like russo, eric, and hogan took down WCW...

This was an amazing show! The crowd was into just about the entire card! And almost $1,000 was raised for the South Brevard Sharing Center for fighting hunger & homelessness!

Oh and for the guy who said it's a waste on a show no one will see... It's called story and character continuity.. You can't have the Rookies be heels on RAW and then be faces at the next show.

It's also called, giving your audience their money's worth!

NxT > TNA.

Nice angle to advance the storyline . . . just one problem: why did they do this on a show that 99% of the fanbase doesn't watch instead of . . . ooohhhh, say, ummmm, SMACKFUCKINGDOWN?!?!?

Posted By: joebin (Guest)  on June 10, 2010 at 04:49 PM

i wouldnt make much of this. the original planned fcw match was probably announced before mondays events so they changed things around to keep a bit of continuity with whats going on in wwe. none of any of the goings on in fcw with this storyline if it does continue down there will be mentioned on WWE tv, just like when the WWF did an angle on USWA tv

Posted By: graant (Guest)  on June 10, 2010 at 04:55 PM

Problem is... nothing is going to happen Friday night I am sure.

They needed to simply destroy EACH show.. even Superstars and then play on their "Leader" until (in about a month) they reveal who that would be.
Anyone but Michael Cole would be fine.

This is an exciting storyline which can continue for the rest of the summer. Hopefully they will let the NXT rookies get some victories over the Pros.

Very cool but I'm confused about one thing...

"Slater talked about how everything was good to start off on NXT but then Christian wouldn't give him the answers so they lost the competition."

The answers? The answers to what?

You heard it here first, my friends... Triple H is behind the whole thing.

Him, Punk, & Jericho are the best heels right now. I would not be surprised if Miz was in a big time title match at Mania next year.

YES!! NxT storyline is staying. nobody cares about TNA anymore. it's all about WWE and this NxT storyline. NxT will be a great faction!

It's official, this is the best angle going hands down.

Theyll blow it with the first promo, watch.

What happens on FCW doesn't matter people. Just because Miz cut a face promo and fought with Christian doesn't mean that he's a face or will show up as a face on Raw next week.

Just like how the entire roster of Pros for NXT were on the same side in their attack on the rookies at the end of the show doesn't make them all faces/heels.

It won't even be acknowledged for the simple fact that nobody sees the show. And if they were to acknowledge it, Miz can easily claim that he was on unfamiliar turf and the only person there that he had worked with before was Christian and therefore the situation bred strange bedfellows. But he's still the Miz and he's still Awesome.

Hahaha, I love the WWE having a bunch of no name jobbers in this angle. What a rating it got Monday night! hahaha.

I love to read the comments. I'm glad that some of you have interest in wrestling. Honestly, I don't like it but if it's sparking interest and will garner ratings, then money is being brought in. Money is always GREAT!

By that logic, they could have and should attack the TNA cast members.

To everyone bitching about wasting this on a show that is not being broadcast, you clearly have no clue.

THIS IS WHAT HOUSE SHOWS USED TO BE ABOUT! This is what makes you go to see a house show! If it was going to be the same old thing then who would want to attend? And FCW has not been selling out. I'm going next week to see the Hart Dynasty and I can tell you this much, NOW I am actually looking forward to the event!

I'm assuming the answers on how to win the competition. I'm guessing they're going to make the Rookies look like ungrateful wrestlers who wanted everything handed to them. I feel like in the end all this is going to do is put over a couple of rookies and bury the other ones.

I feel like this is going to be the invasion angle all over.

Miz still has a job? Who did he fuck? He doesn't have the look or size that McMahon likes. He doesn't have any talent, ability or personality. What the hell?

"Uh.... preeeeetty sure Impact is pwning FCW in ratings..."

FCW only airs on local stations in Florida, not a national cable channel. So, yeah, no shit more people are watching TNA.

lol bury them? what they still doing around, they were told they lost, go home, Skip and Young really flopped, they are lucky to be on TV.

obvious a few NXT rookies will continue to shine being Barrett, danielson and Mr A List, but the rest failed on the show, they should be happy with all they get.

--Hahaha, I love the WWE having a bunch of no name jobbers in this angle. What a rating it got Monday night! hahaha.--

This is seriously a joke comment and not a serious one right?
How the hell was it supposed to pop a rating when it was never hyped, hinted or advertised beforehand?
Oh, it's a TNA fanboy, that explains a lot.
