WWE Money in the Bank Buyrate
Posted by Steve Cook on 09.02.2010
Was it up or down from last year?
The early estimates for the Money in the Bank PPV are at 189,000 buys. This is slightly up from last year's July PPV, The Bash, which got 178,000 buys, but still down from two years ago, when The Great American Bash 2008 got 196,000 buys.
tna is still trying to get double digit ppv buyrates

Damn, only 7K buys down from 2 years ago doesn't sound bad at all

I'd probably consider this a success, if not a roaring one. Especially since a lot of PPVs are down from last year, aren't they? But they should get rid of Fatal 4-Way and replace it with King of the Ring.

Colin Delaney = Buys!

Since PPVs cost more today than they did 2 years ago, Money in the Bank made much more money than The Great American Bash '08.

So what is that like, 8 out of 10 'new' PPV's have outdrawn the previous years? WIN!

I can't believe the PPV system still exists honestly. Do people really hate money that much that they want to flush it down the toilet like that?
For $50 you can take a girl out and have a nice dinner. Why would you watch wrestling?

and for the low price of 15 bucks you can watch an ROH PPV anywhere with internet access and the show will most certainly be better than anything WWE or TNA will put out

and a third of the price

They also cost quite a bit more to produce than they did in 2008

anybody who doesn't appreciate this comment doesn't understand the value of a hard earned 50$. only time I drop $ on a PPV is UFC, few and far between, and even then, its split 4-5 ways. Wrestling PPV < Date

Agreed. This isn't 1989 anymore. Wrestling shouldn't cost $50 bucks. $25 at the most.

How do you figure??

The problem with the pro wrestling PPV system is that they're just churning these things out without giving you a reason to even want to watch them. Over half a million people plunk down for UFC because these fights matter.

I like WWE, but I just cant justify spending that much money on 3 hrs of TV. Esp. when there is so much wrestling available without paying $50. I havent bought a PPV in years. I would, if it cost less, but it would have to be a lot less.

Two things you shoul;d remember. First, most of the buys now are kids getting their parents to buy it for them. Second, in order to have a date, you have to be able to talk to a girl, which most IWCer's are not.

LOL I would rather pay 50 bucks to sit at home and watch a ppv event than spend my hard earn money on a sleazy girl .
Posted By: DEEZ NUTZ (Guest) on September 03, 2010 at 08:57 AM
I used to pay for PPVs but around 3 years ago the quality has dropped off. I haven't even paid for Wrestlemania for the last two years now. I just watch streams now. Perfect quality & free. I'd gladly pay for PPVs if they were worth the money.
