ROH News: Cornette's Twitter Page, 9/11 Show Notes, More
Posted by Ashish on 09.03.2010

- Jim Cornette has launched his Twitter page at: twitter.com/TheJimCornette.

- ROH President Cary Silkin has announced that a small amount of tickets to the 9/11 Glory by Honor Internet PPV will be released the day of the show.

- Christopher Daniels vs. Austin Aries and ROH TV champion Eddie Edwards vs. Shawn Daivari have been added to the 9/11 ROH show.

- WFX in Canada has issued a statement in which they accuse ROH of using footage to promote Charlie Haas' 9/11 debut without permission. This is likely a mistake as there is no such footage on any official ROH video or ROH On HDNet series.

- Both Cary Silkin and Prince Nana (and others) are now writing regularly for the official ROH website.

- ROH Tag Team champions The Kings of Wrestling vs. Colt Cabana & El Generico has been added to the 9/10 ROH show in Plymouth, MA.

"WFX in Canada has issued a statement in which they accuse ROH of using footage to promote Charlie Haas' 9/11 debut without permission. This is likely a mistake as there is no such footage on any official ROH video or ROH On HDNet series."

I just read a news report on wfxwrestling.com discussing this same incident. WFX Vice President Mike Davidson was such an unprofessional loudmouth about it, too, even going as far as to insult ROH's talent and saying that they "pale drastically" in comparison to WFX's own brand name talent, many of whom (Danny Duggan, Ravenous Randy, A.J. Sanchez & Kevin Chevy, etc.) the mainstream public knows even less about than the ROH guys.

I'm sorry, but compared to ROH, how many wrestling fans both in and outside of the IWC even KNOW about WFX, and who the hell is Davidson to insult ROH's wrestlers when he'd probably rave about Austin Aries, Delirious, Chris Hero, and all the other guys he's bashing if they were in his company AND if Christopher Daniels and Jimmy Jacobs, to name but two of WFX's current talents, used to be in ROH themselves? Heck, Daniels is STILL an ROH guy at the moment.

This Davidson just has no class at all and has been known to have little five-year-old outbursts like this. He even called out Cary Silkin via Facebook and used the word "You're" instead of "your" and actually said, "Please accept every disrespect intended in this e-mail." If anyone wants to read about this fiasco for yourselves, just copy and past the link below into your browser.

@Chad:

I saw the article myself at this link:

http://wrestleview.com/viewnews.php?id=1283540473

Apparently, WFX has yet to make any sort of follow-up statement on the issue, and ROH removed the YouTube video they sited in their retort for copyright infringement. Something fishy's afloat...

Still, I agree with you about Davidson overreacting. He's being very unprofessional about the whole affair with his language and all, and for him to slam Chris Hero, Delirious, Austin Aries, etc. the way he did was nothing more than a cheap shot. Furthermore, to call ROH a "joke" of a company (even if their management team DID use WFX Overload footage to promote Haas for their 9/11/10 show) was a really outlandish claim to make, especially given ROH's notoriety, which is heads and shoulders above WFX's at the moment. I mean, come on. WWE is signing guys from ROH left and right and isn't even touching anyone on the WFX roster--not even any of their home grown talent.

Seriously, if you want to attack a given business practice by another wrestling promotion, that's fine. To attack the company's roster because of said business practice, however, shows that you have no class and that you deserve to be ousted of whatever position you have within your own company. I hope WFX President Jeff Dyck suspends Davidson for his mouth, because currently--especially with the way they've been growing as a wrestling fed--WFX can't afford to garner any further negative publicity.

Davidson, you're out of line. Grow the hell up and clean up your act.

To quote some of the guys at this thread:

http://www.wrestlingnewsworld.com/roh-news/wfx-wrestling-accuses-ring-
of-honor-of-stealing-footage-from-them.php

RatedMDK: ""...but today they did a hell of a job of legitimizing our Company."

That may be the case, but the way I see it, Mike Davidson's statement did more harm than anything else. First of all, sending it via Facebook? Really?

Secondly, it could have been proof-read. It should say "your company", rather than "you're company". Also, "...get all footage that belongs WFX off of..." makes no sense.

Finally, "Disrespect intended" seems highly unprofessional, to me at least."

Horseman420: "since when is ROH a struggling promotion? plus I've never even heard of WFX... is everyone 12 years old? quit acting like children and deliver quality wrestling to your fans...... "

Someone needs to start up a petition for WFX to fire Davidson before his fat, ignorant, arrogant mouth gets them into more trouble.

Plus, I hope Jim Cornette rips into him this coming Wednesday evening for his weekly Who's Slamming Who podcast with Tommy Fierro. Only the "Louisville Lip" can give Davidson the negative publicity his sorry ass deserves.

Good grief! I just read this "news report" on WFX's website, and quite frankly, I'm disgusted with this Mike Davidson's attitude. What a childish cretin, especially with him bashing ROH's talent the way he did when hardly anyone knows about his own promotion or its own brand name stars in comparison to even the jobbers on the ROH roster. How unprofessional, especially considering how bad he is at writing!

Even if ROH DID steal WFX footage as the article I read is claiming, Davidson was completely out of line in reacting as tactlessly as he did. He should be fired for his attitude, or at least suspended. He's only the VICE president, after all.

Someone ought to start up a petition to have him ousted from his position in that company; otherwise, I'll refuse to watch whatever show WFX has on the air.

That comment Davidson made about Delirious, Hero, and Aries especially pissed me off. Honestly, what did ANY of those three guys--or any of the other ROH guys, for that matter--ever do to him to deserve that kind of heat?

WFX, if you're reading this, please do yourselves a favor and fire Mike Davidson before he becomes even more of a cancer in your company.

To quote the news section on WFX's own website:

"For the period ending September 21, 2010

--Raven's opponent at "CONFLICT OF INTEREST : TO THE EXTREME" is most likely going to be a legend of ECW. Tommy Dreamer was contacted today, but was unavailable for October 1st. Steve Corino on the other hand responded to Mike Davidson's overture with the following response:

REALLY? After you buried ROH you're going to ask me for a show? No Thanks.

Davidson's feelings were not hurt by the snub."

Hmm..."snub," huh? just goes to show what kind of egotistical jack@$$ this Davidson twit is. He's nothing more than a poor man's Eric Bischoff, running his mouth off the way he does, and as such has no business being in pro wrestling. If WFX CEO Jeff Dyck had half a brain in his own head, he'd fire Davidson before he makes WFX look even worse than it already does.

Posted By: Yay, Corino! (Guest)  on September 22, 2010 at 12:26 PM

"REALLY? After you buried ROH you're going to ask me for a show? No Thanks."

No, Steve. Davidson only BLASTED ROH. Then again, his childish mouthing-off only backfired on him and nailed him right in the foot. Too bad it didn't LITERALLY hit him right between the eyes.

Honestly, what a prick! Good for Corino, though, for standing up for ROH and calling Davidson out for the loser he is.
