Hopefully they add the rest of Nexus, Daniel Bryan and Kaval to that download pack.

even in this joystick universe the matches will be slow and restricted, the commentary unbearable and the overall product disappointing, but i'm sure those pesky kids will love it

2010's you could download Stone Cold and use a password to get the Rock. Anyone know if Stone Cold or Rock will be available on SD/Raw 2011?

Kelly Kelly being on it will make the game what it is. The #2 face in the WWE behind Cena.

Smackdown HCTP is still the best hands down of the Smackdown series. SvR 2006 had more depth, but HCTP is just plain more fun, especially with that loaded roster then. Funny thing is, as great on the viedo game version of the roster was, the actual programing was mostly hit or miss, with Raw having TONS of misses

Can someone please explain to me how the hell Layla didn't make it to the main roster instead of a holiday DLC pack? That's ridiculous. And only 3 Nexus guys are coming soon? Makes no sense.

Morrison is listed under RAW jackass. Bitch fanboys bitch. That's all you do. Get off your asses and do something. This is why other countries hate us.

I mean, I love HBK, but him and no Bryan Danielson=FAIL!!!

Barrett, Gabriel, and Otunga. That shows who the WWE think are the top dogs in Nexus. Too bad Otunga blends in way too much, and Gabriel doesn't often get a chance to show his athleticism due to having to heel it up.

No Great Khali? the hell? They ain't gonna sell crap now thanks to that decision, especially to India.

Will not buy, stupid on their part leaving out a former world champ.

If he's someone slotted in between now & then, I'll buy it.

I think that it's funny that Vance Archer is in but Curt Hawkins isn't.

Also, it's telling that Michelle McCool is going to be in the game, but Layla (who's the Women's champion) is a DLC character.

ALICIA FOX?

Why bitch about the rest of Nexus not being in when you easily create them?
Just enter CAW mode, and save the default wrestler that immedietely pops up on the screen. Copy the guy about two or three times - and there's the rest of your Nexus!

As long as Zack Ryder's theme music is in, I don't care.

Posted By: Vordeo (Guest)  on September 08, 2010 at 11:40 PM

Guys. The reason why Barret, Otunga, and Gabriel are in the pack is BECAUSE THEY WERE THE FINAL THREE OF SEASON 1 OF NXT. I.E they knew ONE of those three were going to win so they probably just had all three of them modeled back then.

I'm counting 53 wrestlers that ship with the game, plus the one DLC 2 pack to make 59. The game is supposed to be 70 plus characters. That being said, it appears the other 11+ wrestlers will be released in 3 more DLC packs with extra ring arenas, outfits and other BS for THQ to milk this shit. Sad to see developers get greedy with DLC these days.

Those packs will be $10 each. $65 for a damn video game (stupid amount for ANY video game) and another $40 in DLC to make it "complete". I'm betting fans of the game will be lining up to pay for the "get F'D in the ass" service as well.

Damn shame...

Otunga? Wow, that's a goddamn shame. And Finlay's always in the games but never on TV. That's a shame too. I like Finlay. Well, heel Finlay.

No shit dude. I don’t remember much about the programming, but that was my favorite game out of the series. Just Bring it being #2. Na, I liked how on Here Comes the Pain, you had to wrestle matches to get points to get better and eventually get to where your on the level to beat somebody.

And Just Bring It might have been the first video game I owned so I was adjusting and getting better. I got beat by Kane in an Ironman Match 18-1, three days later I speared Jeff Hardy in a Four Way Elimination Match to get the European Title.

Sorry you got me going with the memories. They were better then….I also made somebody who looked like The Hurricane, except he wore blue and his name was Tornado….better times.

Oh, and please don't mention the fact that you'll STILL get a rather raped version of the game where you don't have 9/10ths of any bit of the potiental the game COULD be. Glitchy graphics and gameplay, no GM Mode, lack of moves, lack of story mode scenes, lack of CAW parts and pieces, a Career mode that is like watching paint dry, and the stupid CAW progression Bull-shit.

Yeah, have fun with this train-wreck, I've learned a WHILE ago that modern THQ is a sham! UFC 2010 has the SAME B.S. issues that 2009 has, and SDvR 2011 will have the same B.S. issues that 2008 has. So, I'll avoid this game, I don't feel like pissing my $$$ away on a crap game by a producer/developer who is the gaming's version of TNA (has so much promise, but ALWAYS manages to fuck it up).

Lex Luger is a sap.

You will be able to unlock Kaval and Daniel Bryan after doing mini games in which you carry a keg around the ring, kiss a nasty looking fat woman and get Micheal Cole to say Vintage 50 times.

Posted By: Y2R (Guest)  on September 09, 2010 at 07:53 AM

Perhaps you morons complaining about the number of characters completely missed this part of the article:

"The roster is not complete because there will be more downloadable content and they did not announce any hidden chararcters, of which there will probably be a few."

There are more unlockable, hidden characters in this game, as there always are. Luger and Bulldog are just the first DLC Legends, not the only Legends in the game. Have you guys ever played a SvR game before? 'Cause this is nothing new.

That roster kicks the shit out of SvR 2010. The fact that I got the game at Christmas, and the current WWE champ at the time (Sheamus) wasn't even in the game was bogus.

I'm pretty sure this is a mistake and DLC Pack 2 is in fact Pack 1, as Chris Masters was listed alongside the guys in Pack 2.

Pack 2 will probably come out around Easter and include Daniel Bryan, Kaval, whichever Diva wins NXT, Alberto Del Rio, maybe Joey Mercury, and then more legends.

Rock and Austin as hidden characters is almost guaranteed, along with the usuals like Vince, Dusty, Bob Orton etc.

FYI; I watched the hour & a half roster reveal video and can tell you all that Bret isn't just an exclusive. VINTAGE Bret is. Justin Roberts demo'd the game as Bret vs The Miz and they mentioned that he was using the "old" version of Bret but the new one's on there.

Great point. I haven't purchased the game since 2006. It needs to prove that it's a good title. It's already got the physics going for it. I need to see what WWE Universe mode turns out before I make a decision.

Holy shit, people, calm down! They confirmed at the roster reveal that there are about 12 more characters to be unlocked IN THE GAME that weren't on this confirmed list.

Also, I'm *pretty sure* Bret Hart will be in the game as an unlockable. Remember a few years back when GameStop had an "exclusive" code to unlock Ric Flair, but you could unlock him just by playing through the game?

Finally, to all of these people bitching about how wrestlers who have only been with the company for a few months now aren't in the game... what do you expect? It takes time to motion-capture a wrestler, their moves and taunts, and to create their entrance and add their music. Give it awhile and we'll probably get people like Daniel Bryan and Kaval on DLC.

I think it's pretty safe to say that this game could definately be the best since HCTP.

Alicia Fox was confirmed too

This is a pretty accurate representation of the current rosters. With the additions in the download pack (hopefully Great Khali, Curt Hawkins, the remaining members of Nexus, Daniel Bryan) this should be one of the most up-to-date representations I've seen.

The only thing more I could ask for is the return of the No Mercy engine. Which to that I say I wish WWE could score a deal with EA who last time I checked used the Aki engine for Def Jam Vendetta.

I kind of wish WWE would be like the MLB, NBA, and NFL (well before EA bought the exclusive rights) and allow multiple companies to make WWE games. That or I wish TNA, ROH, and others would get more deals and have other companies make games. I never played Impact or Cross the Line, but I heard they weren't too hot.

Man, I can say whatever I want. That's the purpose here, to make comments and give opinions. If you can't get that, just give up on life, fool. I could give a fuck less what others do. I never said I was pissed at them. Let a fool and their money parts way.

C'MON SON, how old are you? 12? If you think HCTP sucked because of entrances, then you fail miserably recognizing what makes a great video game.

Alright Highscore, do you really believe that the other 12 will be in the game and we WON'T have to pay for them? We are talking about a money-hungry THQ, who like most other companies milk a game profit with DLC.

You qouted my post but I never tripped on the Bret Hart thing or missing wrestlers that arrived in the past 4-5 months. I agree with you as far as the work it takes to do all the motion capture work.

HCTP and SvR 2006 were the last great games in this series. Just like you, I'd LOVE for this game to be great. It's time for me to finally have a wrestling game on PS3.

It's all good man, I think a lot of people feel the same way. To me though, Just Bring It was ok, but by the time it came out, the roster was BADLY outdated, because the had none of the WCW/ECW guys during invasion on it. I think my favorite thing about the game was Austin's heel theme then. That shit one probably my favorite Austin theme.

To everyone who says HCTP is better. FUCK YOU!!!! Im sick of hearing from these fans always fucking going on about HCTP. If here come sthe pain was so good how come the entrances were so fucking shit!

Posted By: steve (Guest) on September 09, 2010 at 11:24 AM

Umm, the entrances werent that bad, plus, the game came out in 2003, you know SEVEN YEARS AGO! So of course they were gonna make improvements since then. But compare today's roster to the 2003 roster...Heel Cena, Biker Taker, V1 Matt Hardy, Steiner, Goldberg, Nash, Lesnar, and Benoit, Christian, Eddie, RVD, and Jericho all pretty much in their prime...GTFOH with that man.

2006=Best GM mode ever. I wish they would bring that back as a feature.

Completely agree. I could forgive an out of date roster, crappy controls and even game bugs as long as they bring back GM mode. Screw Road to Wrestlemania, i'm not buying another wwe game until i get GM mode back. That 'create a storyline' was crap.

If you watched the roster reveal on Gamespot yesterday, they CONFIRMED that the 12 or so other wrestlers will be unlockable IN THE GAME.

Yeah because I want to play as Darren Young and Heath Slater. Seriously Barret Otunga and Gabriel are the only wrestlers who can actually get away with having a "move set" Sheffield has a clothesline from hell and I'm pretty sure that is in the CAW directory. Daniel Bryan was fired so they scrapped him, but they are teasing at him being in the next DLC. Overall this game looks to be a decent upgrade from '10 and you know that Stone Cold and The Rock are going to be in it in some way. So nobody start the boycotts yet they seem to know what they are doing this time around so even though THQ is being a little bitch about the whole used game thing they are doing a pretty good job about the quality of the release.

What the F... ?? Where is Stone Cold ?? Where is The Rock ??

The roster is such shit. WHY do they still have people missing in the game? No Layla or Chris Masters (Downloadable doesn't count as actually being in the game. It just means they COULD possibly be in the game if you have access to all that and people who don't have Xbox Live or plan on buying the PS2 game can't get them). There's no Great Khali, no Dudebusters, no Curt Hawkins, and no Jillian Hall. Probbaly not even Savannah (even though she was fired) because everything on NXT has to be downloaded. The ONE thing people were expecting was an NXT storyline!ESPECIALLY considering how NXT is the real-life equivalent of Create-A-Superstar. That is SO dissapointing! Unless Story Editor ends up being 100 times better than it was before (I doubt it as THQ never fails to dissapoint), I am definitely skipping this game. Not to prejudge, but it already looks like crap. Complete and utter crap. Batista and the fucking Bella Twins makes it in, but not the Women's Champion? And Bret Hart (who has become more relevant than in years) isn't even in the fucking game unless you download him after buying the game from Best Buy. Again, what a fucking rip off this is. There's NO WAY I would call this a decent roster! Those 14 other people are going to be just more bullshit characters like the Green and Red dummies, and "Tony".

"Before you whine, ask yourself: Are you really dying to play as Layla? No, and neither is anyone else.

Chill out.

Posted By: Guest#6294 (Guest)"

Actually, a lot of people play as the Divas and use all female rosters. Either to make them better than the WWE presents them as, or simply because they get sick of playing as dudes. I for one LOVE Layla. So shut the fuck up and go back to spooning you boyfriend, dickhead. The rest of us actually like chicks.

Ministry Undertaker and Paul Bearer will be in Legends roster

Because that would be new and original, wouldn't it?

No, new and original would be your mom spitting instead of swallowing.
