Chikara made its NYC debut today at the Warsaw in Brooklyn. They started 15 minutes late. But when they started, they started hot.

Soldier Ant and 3.0 vs. F.I.S.T. – Chuck Taylor pinned Soldier Ant after an Awful Waffle. Lots of fun, craziness, humor. Great opener. 15 minutes of awesomeness, I loved this match.

Hallowicked vs. Ultramantis Black – Ultramantis pinned Hallowicked with the Mantis Bomb. UMB was constantly saying that he didn’t want to hurt Wicked, but wanted Wicked to join his team at next month’s Dark Ciberknetico. When he asked after the match, Wicked just left.

Daizee Haze and Delirious of the BDK vs. Osirian Portal – The Portal wins, pinning Haze after the Egyptian Conniption. The win gave the Portal their third point to challenge for the Campeonatos de Parejas.

Da Soul Touchaz vs. Lince Dorado, Tim Donst, and Tursas of the BDK – Willie Richardson pinned Lince Dorado with a version of the Pounce. After the match, Donst got into an argument with Dorado.

20 Minute Intermission

Eddie Kingston vs. Ares (with his pet, Delirious) – Ares pinned Kingston with a schoolboy. Eddie hit Ares with the Backfist. Claudio Castagnoli came out to distract, which allowed Delirious to hit Eddie with his chain to set up the schoolboy.

The Future is Now (Jimmy “Equinox” Olsen, Jigsaw, and Helios) vs. The UnStable (Stigma, Coin Delaney, and Vin Gerard) – The Future is Now wins by disqualification when Vin Gerard hit a lowblow on Equinox. During the match, Gerard took Delaney to finish off his brother, Equinox. Instead, Delaney allowed Equinox to hit Gerard with his finisher. Postmatch, we had the reunion of the Olsens with Britney Spears’s Toxic on the PA and the crowd chanting “Hug It Out.” Equinox took off his mask, and Delaney took off his UnStable wristbands, leaving together.

For the Young Lions Cup, Frightmare vs Pinkie “Pink Ant” Sanchez – Frightmare wins after countering out of Burning Snicklefritz and hitting Kneecolepsy.

Manami Toyota and Mike Quackenbush vs. Sara Del Rey and Claudio Castagnoli – Toyota forced Del Rey to tap to the Chikara Special. A lot of false finishes, a lot of action, fun main event.

Notes: Chikara is already too big for the Warsaw, which is a great venue. The place was packed tight… Gavin Loudspeaker, at one point, invoked subway etiquette rules, saying if you’d get up for someone on the subway, do it now too… A wide mix of people in the audience including a couple special needs groups. A few of the wrestlers came out and mingled at intermission… A few Pro Wrestling Respect (ROH Academy students) guys were seated in the balcony… The majority of the roster went to the balcony to watch the main event… Ultramantis Black, Bryce Remsburg, Leonard Chikarason, and Gavin Loudspeaker handled commentary… Once again, Chikara proves to have a great mix of personalities, characters, and action. A great, fun show.
