Overall the arena had less people in it than the last venture ROH had through here. Staff was moving people in the general admission area to the camera side (both in the general admission area and on the ring side area). They also ended up sitting some people in the VIP recliner seats, which last time sold out fairly quickly.

The Elite (Ted McNaler & Adam Revolver) over Fighting Spirit.
This was the opening dark match and pretty solid opener. The crowd reaction for this was very small at times. The Elite captured the OVW tag team titles

After this match it is announced that ROH is about to tape their first episode and over the PA a verbal countdown for ROH going live on HDNet is heard.

Eddie Edwards over Mark Briscoe
This is the opening contest on the first episode. The crowd was really hot for this match in the beginning, but it seemed to cool off a little until the end. Edwards picked up the submission victory.

Mike Mondo over Grizzly Redwood
Mondo came out doing his regular entrance where he entered over the top rope (even though he’s not tall enough to) and held up a sign saying “Mondo vs Godzilla”. Mondo won with a superplex standing on the top rope.

MsChif over Daisy Haze
Daisy Haze made her entrance first followed by the returning MsChif who got a large reaction. After the match MsChif spit green mist in her eyes and had to be helped out to the back.

Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas over The Bravado Brothers
This was a quick squash match designed to make TWGTT look stronger. Charlie Haas locked in the Haas of Pain (as the crowd was chanting it) to pick up the victory.

Homicide over Claudio Castagnoli
This was the main event for the first episode, I haven’t seen Homicide in a little while so it looked like he put on a little bit of weight. Homicide picked up the victory after hitting a Gringo Cutter on Claudio.

After this match we had a weird moment where we were thanked for coming out to the taping and welcomed us to come back tomorrow. People actually started to leave, as another ringer announcer came to the ring and just stood there for a minute or two. After the pause she announces the next match, this was kind of confusing.

Shortly after this match (I can’t remember which match this took place after), they announced they were taping another episode of ROH on HDNet and led us in another count down. It seems like they only announced the 1st and 3rd episodes they taped and not the 2nd, but I could have been mistaken.

Mike Bennett over Nick Dinsmore
I haven’t seen Dinsmore in a while either, but it looks like he’s toned up some and keeps a close shave on his hair. He got a sizable reaction from the crowd. Bennet picks up the win after a Spinebuster.

Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly over Corey Hollis & Mike Posey

Roderick Strong w/Truth Martini beat Colt Cabana in a non title match
This was a pretty fun match with Colt Cabana getting a strong reaction due to his time in OVW. Lots of Christian / Gangrel related yellings at Truth Martini that’ll probably make it on TV due to the area’s extremely small size. Strong ended up beating Cabana with a kick to his head.

Rudy Switchblade over Paredyse w/CJ Lane
This is another dark match with OVW wrestlers that saw Switchblade pick up the win with a frog splash.

The Briscoe Brothers over The Elite
This was another quick tag match to get a current ROH tag team over more. Considering the promo later, it makes sense why they took place. The Briscoes picked up the win with the Doomsday Device.

Mike Elgin w/Truth Martini over Alex Silva
Elgin picked up Silva from a pin where he had the match won a couple of times, before finally pinning him for the win.

Sara Del Ray w/Shane Hagadorn & The Kings of Wrestling over Lady JoJo
The crowd was hot and solidly behind Sara Del Ray until near the end of the match where she clearly missed a kick to Lady JoJo. This resulted into some boos and “you fucked up chant”, however, Sara Del Ray recovered from that and picked up the win.

Next Jim Cornette came out to the ring to interview Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin. They put over how they’ve wrestled all over the world and worked hard to be called “The Worlds Greatest Tag Team”. This brought out the Briscoes who were upset that they called themselves “The Worlds Greatest Tag Team”. Briscoes mentioned that they may have been top dog on the “other Monday night show”, but this isn’t that show. Cornette said he had a solution and asked the crowd if they would like to see a dream tag team match between the two. Of course the crowd went crazy, but that soured as he announced it would be for the Feb. show in Chicago. The end of the segment comes as both teams shake hands.

Christopher Daniels beat Chris Hero w/Shane Hagadorn & Sara Del Ray
The crowd was pretty strong during this match that saw Daniels picking up the victory over Hero with the BME.

Post match Daniels put over the crowd and the reactions here in Louisville and said that he was sure they would be returning here for future television tapings. During his speech people were leaving, a little disrespectful especially since he’s putting over the fans and the city.

After his promo, it is announced they will return here tomorrow and that tickets were still on sale. Hopefully I’ll have better notes after tonight’s tapings as I’ll have something to write down on instead of just my phone.
