Matt Hardy Says Brother Jeff is Considering Retirement, Jeff's Wife Comments
Posted by Chad Webb on 04.17.2011
Something is going on in the Hardy camp...
- Matt Hardy posted his most recent video blog and stated that his brother Jeff is considering retiring from wrestling because of needing serious back surgery. He also mentions his Lockdown match, as well as being on friendly terms with Edge again. To watch the video, click here.
- Earlier today, Jeff Hardy's wife Beth Hardy, posted the following under her twitter account "BETHBRITTBRAND":
"Jeff hasn't said anything to anyone about retiring."

They were all probably just drunk or high or something

Edge's retirement > Jeff's

And instead of leaving behind a great legacy, Jeff will forever be remembered as a great fuck-up...until he comes crawling back to the business for more money to feed his habits

He's retiring to pursue a career in drugs.

It was probably a member of kurt angles family that made that tweet.

interesting

And by "needing serious back surgery", he means "running low on painkillers".
Posted By: GobbledyGuest (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 05:10 PM
Is it because he will be in jail soon?
Posted By: Vince (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 05:14 PM
"The tweet was then deleted a few minutes ago"
That's because jeff went and spent all his wrestling earnings on Dope and pills then realized he couldn't afford to retire.
Posted By: MARK OUTTINGTON (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 05:25 PM
Yes, not because Jeff's drug issues are exacerbated around enablers in the wrestling world, but just because of back issues.
Not because TNA isn't even considering him right now and WWE won't take him back, but because of surgery.
Well, there goes Matt back to the mid-card.
Posted By: Guest#1965 (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 05:27 PM
I'm sure if Jeff Hardy retires it'll be because of back surgery, and not his addiction problems. Sure, I'll believe that when my shit turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbet.
Posted By: Michael (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 05:31 PM
I wouldn't doubt the validity of this and to be honest I would respect Jeff if he chose to chuck it in, particularly with what has just transpired with Edge. Look at the state Hogan's in after doing that leg drop for 30 years, and he hasn't done of fraction of the insane spots these guys made their names on. The Swanton Bomb is a made-for-wheelchair move which Jeff has done off the top of twenty foot ladders; I think enough is enough don't you? He's married and got a kid, and all the wrestling business does is give him shit for his personal life. I say fuck it, retire, and enjoy long lazy days getting drunk by the pool with his new family.
Posted By: Guest#8352 (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 05:34 PM
Come on, Camp Hardy - get your story straight.
Posted By: Guest#9267 (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 05:40 PM
He probably doesn't really need back surgery. It's just a great way to score lots of painkillers.
Posted By: Todd Parker (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 05:45 PM

Posted By: Guest#9295 (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 06:02 PM
Edge's retirement has had me wondering how the fuck Jeff Hardy outlasted Edge. Jeff was the one to take the Spear from the titles, that should have killed him. If you would have told me the day after WM 17 that Edge would have to retire due to injuries before Jeff Hardy I would have laughed at you.
Posted By: 420 (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 06:15 PM
Get me a break. The Stupid Hardyz still jelaous for the Edge success in WWE. Something to this two drugs bastards never do it.

It must really burn you haters that someone like Jeff can live the kind of lifestyle that you despise so much, and yet he will still be more successful than your entire family tree combined.
Hardy owns you.

Posted By: JWestmoreland (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 06:34 PM
We liked Edge so we cared when he retired. Not so much you, Jeff.
Posted By: Jared B. (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 06:36 PM
edge's last match was defending the world title in one of the man events on the biggest ppv of the year. it was cut short due to his injury.
jeff's last match was in the main event for the world title. it was cut short because he was zooted out of his mind.

Let's hope that Jeff Hardy has the sense to retire, as he's already pissed away his legacy. He could easily have been a go-to guy for Smackdown, but because he couldn't stay clean, he went to the much more lenient TNA.
Of course at this stage, the only companies that would want him would be those that thought hiring Jake Roberts past 1997 or so would be a good idea.

You know, I always wondered about Jeff's physical health. He never suffered any serious injuries despite what he's known for .If he retires, I will be bummed out (unlike the rest of the IWC.I get it, y'all hate the Hardys), but atleast I would know he's happy.Same thing goes with Edge and any other wrestler who wants to retires.Believe it not but I'm happy when I know the wrestler is happy.I know, how anti-IWC of me right? But all the wrestlers I grew up watching retiring is a serious sign that I'm getting older and won't be watching any longer.Like I was thinking about how if I was to go to WrestleMania 30 since it's in my hometown (New York), how many wrestlers I grew up with (Attitude Era wrestlers and post Atttitude Era wrestlers) will still be in the WWE let alone wrestling. And I'm afraid by that time there will be none.Even alot of the post Attitude guys that came along when I was a teenager like John Cena and Orton will either be gone from WWE, gone from wrestling, or be the type of wrestlers who take extended breaks and only wrestle once or twice a year. There's alot of new faces to keep me watching for years to come but it'll definitely won't be the same.Trust me, I want to watch as long as I can but I don't know if I'm going to grow out of it or not.I hope not but at the same time I don't want to force myself to watch wrestling years from now.Let's just hope that the future is bright for wrestling and that it'll experience a boom again.

Yes, because if there's one thing all of Jeff's haters are, it's jealous that he's a pill popping, stoner drug addict.
Sometimes I wonder if the pro TNA trolls are even trying anymore...

Posted By: Manny Ramirez (Guest) on April 17, 2011 at 08:27 PM
Geesh, you people. Look I know Jeff has problems. But NONE of you except Jeff and maybe a few people within his trusted circle of people truly know what's going on here. And how do we know he's he either has or hasn't suffered serious enough of a major injury for that matter to retire? The answer is none of us here do.
Look, I'm for getting Jeff HEALTHY and SANE to help him get back to where he wants to be. But if he can't because of injurt and if this is indeed real, which I hope it's not serious, but if it is...I hope he does the RIGHT things to get better.

The usual Matt Hardy crap.
Edge retires and receives so much love and praise. So, of course Matt has to jump on that bandwagon and claim Jeff is going to retire, too. Jeff will be one of those guys who will still perform when he is well past his prime, and he'll be drunk/high doing it, too.

If nobody will hire you because you're a drug addicted loser, does that really count as "retirement"?

My family, from my grandfather on, has several self made multi-millionaires. In addition, some have advanced degrees.
All have lived healthy, stable lives.
So no, member of Omega or sad Omega groupie, I am not at all jealous or envious.
Nor would I live his lifestyle if given the chance. While he has some success in an industry that rates just above the porn industry in the eyes of many, he certainly could have achieved more.
What is sad is that he has damaged himself from the way he lives, that his friends and employers have enabled him and allowed him excuses, and that anybody would except such an unreliable person to perform for a paying audience.
The truth is that Jeff Hardy never had anything to contribute to society except as an entertainer in the ring. Not like anybody likes his art or that his brain was ever worth much.
So Hardy can slowly destroy himself, I don't really care. That is his choice and his right. But why has anybody expected him in the last five years to be able to deliver when it is money time?
Posted By: Guest#6289 (Guest) on April 18, 2011 at 01:12 AM

Like I said before he went to TNA, he should have retired after the cage match with Punk. Great way to go out....
Posted By: Guest#6281 (Guest) on April 18, 2011 at 04:19 AM
everyone is reading and weighin in on a life that about 80 to 90% of the commenters here haven't lived and or could never live. Be it entertainer or wrestler or some form of character thats a life most of us here can't even imagine how to do it. Yet we comment on it like its something easy. Hardy's screw ups not withstanding most of us will sit here and lie about how we handle our own life's screw ups but truth be told the crap they go through is several times worse which sometimes leads to an addiction several times worse than we as the audience truly know......but we rarely care as long as they continue to entertain us while we throw money at the product..........his addictions aside Hardy going all the way back to his days as in ring jobber prior to and in the WWF/E took a lot of punishment and the swanton is just as damaging on the person delivering it as the person recieving it. So if this is legit yeah hardy either retires or takes a few years to himself like he should. If he is sent to jail even better forced exit from the ring to heal up in every way possible.
Might not like his choices in life the last couple of years but the man contributed enough to have earned a small amount of respect and hope from real fans of this entertainment to get his life right.

Jeff's needed to retire since he started wearing that makeup. People likes Sting and his gimmick, i get that but Jeff's just looks fucking stupid.

The busines is their downfall. It is not a normal job. I can see the need for pain killers. Jeff has stunned the world with his wrestling moves. Be it drugs or anyother habit he does what we pay to see. I look at his in ring performance and stay out of his personal life. It's simply not my business.
