UPDATED: Jeff Hardy Legal Update
Posted by Larry Csonka on 04.20.2011
Same as always…
UPDATE: According to North Carolina newspaper The Southern Pines Pilot, Jeff Hardy's case was continued because Hardy's defense attorney asked the Judge for additional time in order for Hardy to be assessed for whether he needs treatment for drug dependency. Becky Carlson, the district administrator for the 19-B J.D. Sentencing Services Program, is scheduled to assess Hardy. She just got the case, and not only does she need to assess him, but she also has to get a second opinion. If Hardy's assessment reveals that he needs help for drug dependency, it could lead to a plea deal that ends the criminal case against him.
ORIGINAL: Jeff Hardy was scheduled to appear in court today, but once again, the case received a continuance. The case was continued because the defense attorney had been trying to contract with the county's Sentencing Services Program. The Sentencing Services Program reviews cases and makes a recommendation of rehab instead of jail time if appropriate. The case has been continued until June 27th.
Jeff hardy is so guilty and this proves it. he gonna retire soon too.

Rehab hasn't worked for Jeff before. Why should it be any different now?
Posted By: Guest#6340 (Guest) on April 20, 2011 at 12:29 PM
Just throw the guy in jail or fire him already.
Posted By: Nailz (Guest) on April 20, 2011 at 12:32 PM
Dear God almighty, this was THE perfect day to nab him. He's out celebrating now, I'm sure...
I mean, I'm celebrating too, but I didn't skip out on court this morning.

And they call that a criminal justice system? Get to trial part already!
Posted By: mrfixit (Guest) on April 20, 2011 at 12:35 PM
What is the problem in NC. Two years and no drug test results and now they are TRYING to get hold of the SSP? Do they not answer the phone? Did they go fishing? Are they at Myrtle Beach bikini watching?...I mean what the hell? Does anything get done in that state in a TIMELY manner?

Andrew, you do not speak for all of us. I hope Hardy over doses and gets it over with. He's an idiot and a piece of shit.
Posted By: Phil (Guest) on April 20, 2011 at 12:46 PM
Seems like I remember a certain company offering to pay for rehab and him refusing. Funny what the threat of jail time will do to you.
Posted By: rshort2001 (Guest) on April 20, 2011 at 12:47 PM
well a court ordered rehab tends to keep certain people in rehab versus those that check themselves in and then check themselves out. hardy's seem unique in that even looking at his history when he seemed to not be heavily on drugs.......he had the world in his hand in the WWE prior to his violation that led to him losing his IC title and other things then cleaned up or faked cleaning up got multiple title reigns to being busted and released then showing up in TNA for a while seemingly not drugged up and becoming champion. His case seems to beg for court ordered rehab or jail time. Still think even if you take it to court based off the number of continuances granted I don't think either side is truly convinced off of the evidence that they can win the case so a plea deal is all they can do at this point.

Stalling tactics. Just say some mumbo jumbo to get him off criminal charges, put him in rehab for ooohhhh about a week, let him go and oooops, out of his face ....again.
Posted By: Guest#5755 (Guest) on April 20, 2011 at 01:01 PM
I wonder if he is going to wear his face paint durring this assessment

If Jeff Hardy wanted to be in WWE he wouldn't have quit WWE when he was on top as World Champion. Clearly he doesn't want that WWE road schedule or life. Jeff Hardy needs to go to rehab and get clean and get his life in order before he even thinks about wrestling again. The facts are that he has a child now and a family depending on him which clearly doesn't mean a lot to the complete cynics that post comments on here about how he should die or retire or whatever. I hope Jeff gets his life in order because that's what a REAL human being would hope for, which most of the people that comment on this site are not.

If Hardy was appearing before Judge Sting he would have been found guilty in under a minute.
Posted By: Canucklehead (Guest) on April 20, 2011 at 01:38 PM
wow, shocker. Jeff Hardy...what are you doing man?

No my friend, Jeff is ALREADY retired. TNA retired his loser, druggie ass.
I say drop all the charges, blackball Jeff from wrestling and wait for the inevitable obituary and Matt Hardy cryfest.

Even I can see that.

Who's dick is hardy sucking on?ANYBODY else in this world would already be serving their sentance.jeff hardy may be a "celebrity",I use that term very loosely, lets face it being a pro wrestler is barely a celebrity. But even robert downey jr was thrown in jail, and he is a real celebrity.Fuck Jeff Hardy, keep his worthless spot monkey ass off my tv and get him in jail with his new big black boyfriend bubba already.
Posted By: WTF (Guest) on April 20, 2011 at 02:05 PM
It's obvious that they don't have enough evidence to throw him in jail. Just close the case and let him go back to TNA.
All you sheep hating on him, you don't have any idea what you're talking about, all you know is the gossip you read on this site. Hardy is no more guilty than anyone else on pain killers.
Posted By: Guest#8864 (Guest) on April 20, 2011 at 02:06 PM
That's the legal system for you. Actually, I would imagine it sucks for Hardy having to have the damn thing hanging over your head all the time and not knowing for sure what the outcome will be.
Posted By: Guest#9043 (Guest) on April 20, 2011 at 02:23 PM
Happy 4:20 Jeff! Youre going to jail

Jeff Hardy: 420
Haters: 0
Posted By: 420 (Guest) on April 20, 2011 at 02:51 PM
I still say all this stuff is smoke and mirrors and hardy is naming names and might actually end up in witness protection somewhere sometime depending on how big the guy is at the top of his little business.
just way too many continuances and supposed deals and new deals coming and going to make any sense. They dont have to appear in court as habitually as they do to announce these changes so it is like theyre doing it to make sure people get a nice story to talk about.
because all they need to do is tell the judges clerk what is going on and it would be enough, changes like that arent mandatory for the docket. the two lawyers meet, set it up and they go from there. if it is a special circumstance they cant talk to the judge in his chambers and not in open court.
So it is like theyre going out of their way to make it public record.
So if hardy comes back falls on his head and dies in the ring, people in wyoming, new mexico, or montana better keep their eyes peeled for him

Yea, you better keep that foil hat on too so that the unmarked helicopters following you can't read your thoughts.
Seal up your command center and I will call Jessie Ventura to come help you.

So, you want Jeff to come back to WWE so he can get his third strike from them? Yeah, you're a true fan. Personally, I think Jeff Hardy should just go ahead and retire, and give wrestling fans what they really want: him gone.
Posted By: Michael (Guest) on April 20, 2011 at 09:03 PM
Ah, well that makes sense. Just keep delaying it until he dies of an O.D. instead of just putting him in jail like a regular person would be. If wrestlers are C-list celebrities as is, TNA wrestlers must be low D-celebrities, so I don't get the preferential treatment.

I'm sincerly confused why you seem to think I am an anti-WWE troll. I haven't even seen the guy who posts as me do so in about a week, I think. ??????? If anything I might be considered an anti-TNA troll by some.

The hilarious part of the whole story is Hardy's defense attorney asking for additional time to assess whether or not he needs drug treatment. Apparently nobody in North Carolina saw the Hardy Sting match. They should just play that tape for the SSP lady.
