Randy Orton Injury Update
Posted by George H. Sirois on 06.18.2011
The latest from RNN…
Randy Orton announced on his Twitter page that he had passed the Impact test. Therefore, he is clear to wrestling at the Capitol Punishment Pay-Per-View in Washington, D.C.
Pass the Impact test? What's that? If he was able to watch an episode of TNA iMPACT and not fall asleep then he's cleared to wrestle? Guess I'll never be cleared to wrestle :(

Sigh... bending over.

Impact test, eh?
Posted By: Ben (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 10:08 AM
He survived watching a whole episode of Impact. Congrats Randy. You are a true inspiration.

Does that mean Randy defeated Eric Young in a Samoa Joe on a Pole match?
Posted By: PDM (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 10:23 AM
Good to go! One hell of a match!
Posted By: Guest#0114 (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 10:24 AM
The Impact test?
What did he do? Wrestle someone in their 50's for 3 minutes whilst there were 4 run ins?
AM I RIGHT?

If the Impact test were to refer to competing on Impact Wrestling, the threshold to compete would have been pretty low seeing as how they'll let anyone compete no matter how injured or inebriated they might be.

Wow, dodged a bullet with that one! I was really on the edge of my seat waiting for a kayfabe injury update.
Posted By: Terra (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 10:31 AM
I love how Orton and WWE worked so many smarks with his "concussion." Nearly every writer in the round table assumed his concussion was legit.

The Impact Test? SWERVE~!
Posted By: Ryushinku (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 11:03 AM
Impact test?
And your NEW TNA world champion!
Posted By: ThatNickGuy (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 11:17 AM
No shit. Did anyone actually think he was going to take the safe route and not perform? Same goes with Miz and that vicious Wrestle Mania concussion.

The impact test? Is that a knock on Impact wrestling? No no I got it, he is able to take a bump.

I'm very glad to hear this, both for Randy, and for myself as a fan, because hes been putting on absolutely fantastic matches all year. Sure, they've been pairing him with other great workers, but hes really stepped up his game and I'm hoping Sundays match is no different.
Posted By: Ruiner (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 12:24 PM
Darn. I was hoping he could update us on his weekly progress.
Posted By: Guest#2895 (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 12:43 PM
I hope he's really OK... I want the match to be good, but I'm afraid he's just going to hurt himself even more.
But the fact that he didn't wait until the PPV to announce the results means that this was probably legit, in which case I'm even more nervous.

"passed the Impact test"?.... Nah, too easy.
Posted By: Alex (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 01:36 PM
Yeees! Randy orton in TNA!!!
Posted By: Guest#8246 (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 01:36 PM
I was hoping boreton wouldn't be allowed to wrestler and had to drop the belt.
Wait, the WWE doesn't care about the health of its wrestlers and will let them wrestler no matter how injured they are.

Wow, for a minute I thought he was going to TNA.
Posted By: Real Man (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 02:09 PM
yes!!!!
Posted By: Guest#1153 (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 02:39 PM
Um, no he didn't! For one, you have to be at least 50 years old to pass the Impact Test
Posted By: Guest#7099 (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 03:51 PM
surely an impact test would be being addicted to drugs, a reckless liability in the ring and the belief that you should be world champion.
Posted By: spn (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 04:52 PM
@#1Punker That was funny as hell, haha I never laugh at reader comments but that one hit the spot!!

RNN = nice throwback!
Posted By: R (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 05:36 PM
Cool. Because the PPV just wouldn't have had enough headlocks without him.
Posted By: Guest#5334 (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 05:40 PM
All of you smarks thought you were clever with the shots at Impact Wrestling. Then you realized EVERYBODY made a comment about it and you weren't so clever after all. HA.
Posted By: Wow (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 07:42 PM
Is the impact test where you watch RAW the iMPACT and have to tell the difference? Cause they both suck ass.
Posted By: Guest#1706 (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 07:57 PM
See? Work.

He's tried to be a tough guy, but he can't grow his damn beard in.
Posted By: Privateer (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 10:12 PM
Damn, how many of you people actually thought that you would be the ONLY person to comment with a LAMEASS Impact joke? LOL...
Posted By: Smdh (Guest) on June 18, 2011 at 10:18 PM
And thus any chance Christian might've had of getting another WHC reign is flushed down the toilet.

Because trying to "fool the smarks" is such a great business plan...that's why Nitro is on this Monday, yeah?
Also: what, exactly, did this worked angle accomplish then? How does it benefit business in any way?

hahahahahaha. Posing and restholds still make up 90% of his matches, his offense is weak, he's still clumsy, his strikes are bad even by WWE standards, and to see him take three moves in a row is unheard of. On the pro side: elaborate spots make the RKO look good(but still really telegraphed), he's almost learned how to do that inverted backbreaker, and they added a couple spots (Garvin Stomp, powerslam and Rope Filler DDT) to break up the monotony.
Oh, I forgot that his clotheslines suck and he still switches limbs and or randomly stops selling.
Randy Orton, poor man's Lex Luger.

And let the TNA jokes commence.

Seriously. From what I know about the Impact test, even if you pass it you still need time off.
hmmmm,
