No, it's so that places that don't carry direct-to-dvd movies will carry it (or will carry it in a more high profile section) and so that news outlets might cover it. WWE is delusional, but not delusional enough to believe they are in Oscar contention. It is absolutely worth it for them to do this even if the theatrical release loses money.

Its so Walmart,the biggest retailer in the world,will carry the dvd's.they have a policy of not carrying dvd's unless they were in theatres.
